Levi slowly walked to the morgue, each step heavy as if it would shatter his despair.

He sat beside me, quietly looking at me, his eyes filled with endless sorrow and self–blame.

He sat for a whole day, as if trying to etch my image into his heart.

He reached out and gently stroked my cheek, as if trying to wake me from my slumber.

His fingers slid gently across my face, intensifying the sorrow in his heart.

“Isla, why did you leave me?” his voice was hoarse and low, filled with endless sorrow,

He looked at the wound on my calf, the place where he once took a bullet for me.

He remembered the danger of that moment and my determination to take the bullet for him.

“I should have protected you. But I failed,” his voice was filled with self–blame and regret.

During this time, Ella came many times, each time gently urging him to leave.

Levi remained silent, responding to her concern with silence.

It wasn’t until Ella fainted again that Levi reluctantly left.

He carried Ella, rushed her to the hospital, and then sat silently in the corner of her room, keeping watch. When Ella woke up and saw Levi sitting beside her, a glimmer of joy flashed in her eyes,

She said softly, “Levi, don’t worry, I’ll help find clues. Your wife died so tragically, we can’t let her die in vain.” Levi shook his head and said coldly, “You should rest! Every time you faint, I have to take care of you. Don’t make things more complicated.”

Ella’s face turned pale as she listened to his words.

She had never seen Levi treat her so coldly before, and a sense of unease and loss gradually spread in her heart. She wanted to continue persuading him, but Levi’s next words left her speechless. “Besides, I don’t think Isla would want to see us together.”

Yes, I really didn’t want to see them together.

But now that I’m dead, whether they’re together or not doesn’t matter to me anymore. This content belongs to Nô/velDra/ma.Org .

I watched them coldly.

Back at the police station, Levi gathered everyone for a meeting.

His gaze was firm and cold, determined to catch the killer and avenge me.

“Let’s transfer a forensic doctor from the other team. Ella isn’t feeling well, so she won’t be take part of this case.”

His voice was calm and resolute, as if he had buried all his emotions deep inside.

Soon, a new forensic doctor came to assist with the autopsy.

I watched as my body was dissected, and the button in my stomach was discovered.

That was the button I pulled off in shock when I saw Ella, breaking free from my restraints to grab it.

I secretly swallowed it. It was the only clue I could leave behind.

I watched all this quietly, my emotions too complex to describe.

I wondered how Levi would feel when he discovered this button belonged to his childhood friend.
