When Love Turns Cold 8

Chapter 0008

She didn’t even know what was going on, and yet, there Hansel was, yelling at her and calling her names. She was completely speechless as she stared at her phone. Hansel had already hung up on her.

“What did I even do wrong?”

Tina hadn’t managed to stew in anger for long before the butler, Gary Jenkins, brought a list of gifts over to her. “Ms. Johnson, are all these gifts enough?”

Tina glanced at the list and saw that the gifts were all premium items. She then meticulously checked each one, making sure that there were no mistakes, before nodding her head in satisfaction.

“These gifts are all for Dr. Young. You need to be more careful when selecting gifts for her. You’re not allowed to make any mistakes, understand?”

“Yes, Ms. Johnson.”

“Ms. Sutton, this is the best place you can find that’s the closest to Bedford College. The lighting and environment are very good as well.

“There are many people who are waiting to rent a place like this. If you don’t make up your mind now, it’s going to be gone in the next few hours.”

The property agent continued explaining details about the unit as Miranda looked around. The place wasn’t big since it was just a two–bedroom apartment. The building was also at least a decade old.

While it wasn’t exactly a run–down apartment, it was quite a traditional one. However, there were many benefits to staying in this apartment unit.

Aside from being very close to Bedford College, there was also a library right next to it. It was also close to public transport and, most importantly, had adequate natural lighting and a favorable environment all around.

If Miranda wanted to start anew, this was the exact place for her. “Alright, I’ll take it.”

Miranda then signed the tenancy agreement for the whole year.

When Winter returned home, she saw the suitcase on the living room floor. ” Are you moving out?”

Miranda was in the midst of packing her clothes into her suitcase. “Yes. I’ve already found a place to stay.

Winter hummed and guessed, “Did Hansel come looking for you? That’s not too bad; at least you still held out for a week. You should leave him hanging once in a while. Otherwise, he’s going to start walking all over you…

Miranda stopped what she was doing and turned to face Winter. She looked Winter in the eye and said, “Winter, Hansel and I have really broken up. I won’t be going back to him anymore.”

Winter was stunned. Suddenly, she thought she could believe what Miranda had just said.

In the past six years, she’d witnessed Miranda losing bits of herself for Hansel. She’d stopped shining as brightly as she had in the past when she’d continued to make herself Hansel’s perfect housewife.

No, scratch that. If Miranda had been his housewife, at the very least, she would’ve had a proper label to her identity, but Hansel had never given her one. She’d meant nothing to him anyway!

He was nothing but a jerk and a bastard. He only knew how to take advantage. of other people!

“Finally! That’s wonderful news! You should’ve done that a long time ago! There are so many more men out there. You’ll do just fine without Hansel in the picture!”

“Absolutely,” Miranda said with a nod.NôvelDrama.Org: text © owner.

“So, uh, you’re serious this time, aren’t you? You won’t go crawling back to him in two days‘ time, will you?”

Miranda laughed. She was rendered speechless.

On the way back to her new place, Miranda stopped by the store for a while.

The apartment was old, and the peeling walls needed a fresh coat of paint.

Even the furniture that had come with the apartment was so old that it looked like it might be antique.

Miranda decided to buy some eco–friendly paint and repaint the whole apartment by herself.

“Could you please help me with these?”

The cab driver helped Miranda take the pails of paint out of the back of his car. Miranda then looked up and sighed. Her apartment was on the seventh floor. But there was nothing she could do other than take all of the paint up by herself.

To repaint the walls, she would first have to move all the furniture out of the way. It was just as well, so that she could rearrange the furniture later on.

Miranda opened the door to her apartment and started carrying the tins of paint up the stairs. They were big and heavy, so she rested every two floors until she finally made it to her apartment door.

By the time she got everything up, she was a huge, panting mess.

After resting for a few minutes, Miranda went to freshen herself up in the bathroom as she slowly regained her energy. She took out her painting tools and started dabbing some paint onto the walls.

Then, she rolled up her sleeves and got straight to work.
