Alexander smiled tenderly at his purchase and delicately held out his hand to her, inviting her to follow him. Diana obeyed meekly, taking his arm and walking beside him.

The man took the trembling girl out into the street, for the first time in a long time she breathed in the fresh night air. From surprise, she almost fell, confused and losing orientation in space.

Alexander took her in his arms like a feather and carried her to the car. Seated in the back seat, he ordered the driver to get going.
