Chapter 45: A Show of Love!

In an instant, Maxwell retaliated with lightning fast reflexes as he returned a slap onto President

Gerald’s face!

President Gerald was clutching his face while staggering backwards with shame. He looked at Maxwell

in disbelief. Blood started to trickle down the corner of his lips…

gnashing her teeth… She was sure she had warned this guy not to make a ruckus, yet he started one

anyway!

In an instant, silence enveloped the hall! Everybody was looking at Maxwell in shock. They couldn’t

return to their sense at all as this sudden turn of events had caught them off guard.

This was a revolt! Maxwell had slapped someone while attending Young Master Sandoval’s banquet.

Was he really planning to cause a scene?

He really dared to cause a scene in a banquet held to welcome Young Master Sandoval!

President Gerald steadied himself while producing a handkerchief from his pockets to wipe off traces of

blood near his lips. He was so angry that he was actually laughing now. It was a maniacal laugher

imbued with cruelty!

“Well, well… I can’t believe you dare to hit me.” President Gerald was glaring at Maxwell with a

venomous gaze.

“What about it? You have slapped me just now, so I was just returning a favour. I am doing this out of

courtesy.” Maxwell simply replied.

“You… you better prepare yourself since you even dare to hit me. Do you know who are we doing this

banquet for?” President Gerald asked coldly.

“Of course I know, it’s for Young Master Sandoval.” Maxwell sounded carefree.

The other guests felt a shiver of fear permeating through their bodies when they heard that. They were

shocked by Maxwell’s words!

It turned out that Maxwell still went on to cause a ruckus knowing that this was a banquet with Young

Maxwell twitched his lips as he retorted, “I am hitting you alone. What does it have to do with Young

Master Sandoval? What’s so great about this banquet? This hotel does not belong to him anyway!”

Countless guests were appalled after listening to his outrageous words!

He was insane! He sounded like he wasn’t concerned about Young Master Sandoval at all!

When Young Master Sandoval arrived in Ocean City, even the representative of the city hall would give

way to him. On the other hand, this crazy young man was publicly displaying his disrespect towards

Young Master Sandoval. He was really too much!

There were quite a number of guests looking at Maxwell with a complicated expression as if they had

mixed feelings about what was happening. Some of them were even feeling sorry for him. In their eyes,

there was no way this man would escape this place unscathed. He probably would not be able to leave

His attitude was too arrogant. Perhaps somebody would deal with him hastily and Young Master

At the same time, Greta was breathing hard with a deathly pale face. She was on the brink of going

crazy. This guy had really started something irreversible. She was probably powerless to resolve this

big of an issue as well!

He was done for! Even for Greta, she wouldn’t count on herself when she gauged her standing

“Do you know what kind of relationship I have with Young Master Sandoval?” President Gerald was

smiling with his face distorted. His tone was full of arrogance!

“Your relationship with him?” Maxwell flashed a meaningful smile before suddenly grabbing President

Gerald’s shirt and landed another slap across his face!

Maxwell had increased his strength this time. President Gerald was almost sent flying as he spat out a

mouthful of blood!

“I don’t care what kind of twisted relationship you have with him! You have beaten a woman, so you

have no right to say anything…” Maxwell stuck his hands into his pockets as he replied noncommittally.

President Gerald was on the floor as he struggled to stand up again. At the same time, he realized that

he was unable to do that!

Maxwell had exerted too much force into his slap. He had several broken bones because of that!

The atmosphere in the hall seemed to petrify. Although these big shots were experienced in the ways

of the society, they couldn’t control their expressions from becoming aghast! From their conversation,

they could deduce that President Gerald was connected to Young Master Sandoval in some way, but

Maxwell didn’t even so much as acknowledge that fact at all!

Nobody was able to move a muscle as they stared intently at Maxwell with ragged breathing!

“Stop!”

At that moment, a voice sounded out of nowhere. The commotion instantly died down.

A handsome young man dressed in impeccable suit was walking towards Maxwell from the entrance of

the hotel. The other guests voluntarily gave way to him as the young man was illuminated by a massive

diamond chandelier which was dangling from the ceiling. The young man had a calm and composed

expression his face as he narrowed his eyes. His steps were steady and his aura indicated he was

someone well beyond his years.

The guests present immediately became respectful because he was none other than the focus of this

banquet! He was Young Master Sandoval from Beijing!

Young Master Sandoval was heading towards Greta at the moment. President Gerald was seething

with rage as he glared at Maxwell with a hideous expression on his face.

“Young Master Sandoval, you’re finally here.” President Gerald greeted politely. He wanted to scramble

up from the floor but due to his broken bones, he was unable to do that.

“Alright, you can leave now to treat your injuries.” Young Master Sandoval looked at President Gerald

briefly before motioning two bodyguards dressed in black to help him to his feet.

The onlookers were mildly surprised when they affirmed that President Gerald was indeed acquainted

with Young Master Sandoval. What was the nature of their relationship?

The onlookers were making their own guesses, but none of them could come to any conclusion.

Young Master Sandoval silently stood in front of Greta with his eyes locked onto hers. His gaze was

serene without any turbulence deep within it.

Greta looked composed on the surface as she met his eyes. However, her heart was beating furiously.

She was more than nervous!

Finally, the young master hailing from the Sandoval family of the capital city was right in front of her.

Greta couldn’t guess his purpose of coming here, but she predicted that he was probably up to no

good.

Young Master Sandoval was definitely not someone she could take lightly. Since he was sent by the

Suddenly, Young Master Sandoval bowed slightly as he started, “Miss Greta, I have invited you to my

banquet, but such an unfortunate turn of events had happened. I’m sorry about that.”

Greta was stunned momentarily before shaking her head, “It’s nothing.”

The onlookers were stunned too as they couldn’t figure out the reason Young Master Sandoval was

apologizing to Greta first thing he came here… With his status, he didn’t need to do that at all. What

was he aiming for by doing that?

The whole sequence was too baffling.

Young Master Sandoval extended his hands to shake Greta’s hands lightly before withdrawing it

politely.

“Miss Greta, it is my honour to invite you to my banquet tonight.” Young Master Sandoval put on a faint

smile as he took two glasses of wine from a waiter and handed one to Greta.

Although Greta was extremely nervous, she still tried to maintain a harmless smile. She didn’t want to

give him any opening, “Young Master Sandoval, I never imagine myself being able to join a banquet of

this magnitude, considering the fact that I’m a nobody and you’re a prominent figure. This is my

honour.”

“When I was in Beijing, I had heard a lot of nice things about you. I decided that I should meet you in

person instead of just hearing about you. In my humble opinion, not only you are the number one

beauty in the business circle of Ocean City, you are also the number one beauty in China.” Young

Master Sandoval replied with a smile.

“Young Master Sandoval, with my looks, I am afraid I can only be famous in this small Ocean City.

China is very big and there are a lot of prettier women out there. I can never compare to them.”

Young Master Sandoval suddenly put on a serious expression, and his tone was infused with some

expectation and longing, “Miss Greta, in fact, I am here all the way from Beijing for your sake.”

“Me?” Greta froze for one moment as she felt ridiculous.

Was he going to state his intention finally? This was probably not his idea, but the idea of the entire

Sandoval family.

Greta waited with a pounding heart. Young Master Sandoval nodded and continued with a serious

expression, “I’m here for an arranged marriage with you.”

“Marriage?” Greta was stunned again, but she quickly broke into a smile in an attempt to change the

subject, “Young Master Sandoval, you must be kidding with me. I have been a married woman for a

long time. I am no longer the single and free girl from back then.”

Young Master Sandoval flashed a meaningful smile as he answered somewhat disdainfully, “It doesn’t

matter. From what I heard, your husband is someone who is incapable of helping you in any way. As

for me, it’s a different story.”

Young Master Sandoval was saying this with concrete and unshakable confidence. He was well-

prepared this time. To him, Greta’s husband was just a good-for-nothing.

At the same time, he knew that Greta never harboured real feelings for her husband.

Master Sandoval and Greta with burning eyes.

The other one was someone even more prominent. He hailed from the Sandoval family in Beijing. He

“I will never let you feel wronged anymore, and I will never let you become the subject of criticisms. I

am different from a good-for-nothing. I can protect you from all dangers and make sure you are never

hurt.” Young Master Sandoval continued and his words sent a shock to the onlookers. His words were

obviously aimed at Greta’s rumoured useless husband!

In Ocean City, there was a rumour that Greta was married to a lazy and cowardly husband. Not only he

didn’t work to earn money, he was also the first one to shy away from any danger. He was not a man in

the real sense of the word.

Compared to him, Young Master Sandoval was worlds apart in terms of everything. The crowd was

silently despising this useless son-in-law of the Sandoval family. When her woman was almost in

danger of getting snatched away, he was nowhere to be seen.

“Greta, so it turns out that you are here. I have a hard time looking for you.” Suddenly, another voice

sounded from another direction.
