Unforgiven Sins

Chapter 29: Mission 102

Cinyla’s POV

I’m currently at home after buying two choco flavors of milk tea at a store near us, I just chose to rest. I went straight to the terrace because I have time to rest today. I hope so.

I immediately looked for a good spot after I saw the hammock on the left side and I just chose there. Apart from the beauty of the light, the beauty of the sky is even more obvious. I stared dumbfounded at the milk tea I bought at Milkias Shop. I only bought the medium size because I wouldn’t be able to use the large one. But I was even more shocked when I saw that I bought two. Why two? I don’t know why I bought it, it looks delicious but now I can’t even move to drink it.

I slowly closed my eyes and screamed. Why is this happening? I’m not in focus!

Later I received a call from Joshua. I quickly reached into my left pants pocket and pressed the green icon to answer his call.

“Hello, Cinyla! Good morning! I am below your house. You go down first.” I quickly stood up and looked at him from below. He was standing there with the cell phone in his left ear.

What is he doing here?

“Alright, I’m going down. Wait for me,” I responded to this and hung up and did not hang up on him. I don’t know why he’s here, but I suddenly grabbed my chest as if he was going to tell me something strange.

I reached the bottom and he was just smiling at me while he was still holding his cell phone. “What’s wrong with Joshua that you came to visit?” I asked directly because I also wanted to know his purpose immediately.

“Can I go inside? You need to know this before you know others.” I raised my eyebrows at what he said and at the same time my heart beat faster. It was beating faster and faster as if it would explode at any moment. I clutched my heart to try to calm down even though I didn’t know how. “Y-yeah s-sure. Come in.” I answered calmly even though I was trying to calm down even though it was difficult.

I let him inside and suddenly mommy came out from the kitchen. “Oh, you have a visitor. What is his name, he is so handsome. Go ahead, sit down in our living room and I’ll get you some food and drinks.” Instead of nodding, Joshua approached mommy which surprised me.

“Good morning, auntie!” he said politely and cheerfully and come closer to my mom asking for a blessing through my mom right’s hand. This is a cultural thing that we do to show our respect to adults.

Mommy smiled and said, “Thank you, handsome man, for your kindness. Alright, sit down in the living room and I’ll also get the food and drinks. Vinyl, you take care of your guest, okay?”

“Yes mommy, thank you.” I immediately pulled Joshua’s hand when mommy went straight to the kitchen.

“Hey, what are you doing here? What will you say?”

He took the milk tea I was holding and I didn’t realize that I had brought it.

“Can I have this? My favorite is chocolate flavor at Milkias Shop.” While drinking in my front.

“Alright, that’s yours, I have another one upstairs. It’s a shame for you, you grabbed it before you said goodbye.” I responded irritably while sitting on the sofa.

“What are you going to say, again?” I repeated the question to him.

He stopped drinking and looked around. I raised my eyebrows because I couldn’t understand what he was doing now, but I felt a pain in my heart. I held onto that part and thought. Wait, I feel like he wants to say something that I need to prepare.

He held my hand and put the milk tea he asked me for on the table. “Can we just be there in silence? I mean in a place where it’s just the two of us.” His question made me think. He rarely gets serious unless the conversation is about cases. But now, my hunch is not good.

“Wh-what is that?” I stuttered. He looked around first and approached me slightly. “Your father is alive.” This whisper caused my hair to rise in shock.

I was almost deaf from what I heard but it was impossible. Besides, daddy was gone for a long time. There are many questions in my mind what, when, where, and how is he still alive?

I clung to him because of the sudden dizziness I felt. “Are you okay?” “I am so sorry, I know you are not ready for this matter. But after a couple of years, I found out that your dad is still alive.” We both looked ahead when we heard a crash. “W-what?” asked my mom who made me lose my trance even more.

I bit my lower lip at what he would say and especially at what he would feel. “Mom, we will explain.”

“Mommyyyyy!” Joshua and I ran together when mommy suddenly fell to the floor.

“Wrong timing!” Joshua said annoyed and he quickly picked up mommy and laid her down on the sofa next to us. I promptly opened the electrician’s because apart from the heat he might need some air.

“Mommy, wake up. Mommy!” I called her but she was still unconscious no matter what I called and did. Until I heard someone’s footsteps.

“Hey, what happened?” asked a familiar voice.

“What are you doing here?” When I saw who it was, I stood up because of his sudden arrival at the house.Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

He quickly approached mommy and double-checked her breathing with his two fingers.

“She’s still breathing. Did something happen?” He looked at me which almost woke me up because of the seriousness on his face.

“He passed out because of the heat. He just needs rest. Joshua, help me carry mommy to the bedroom.” I looked at Joshua and he got my point.

“Let me do it,” BenChua presented but Joshua already picked up mommy. “I can do this, bro.” The two looked each other in the eye, but I stood between the two of them because I didn’t want everyone to end up in an argument.

“Just Joshua BenChua, I mean sir. Just wait for us here. Sir BenChua did nothing and Joshua and I went straight to mommy’s room on the left side near the kitchen.

While we were walking, many things were bothering my mind. But it was sir’s hour that I remembered the most.

“Aunty needs to rest first, it’s not good for her to fall on the floor either. But don’t worry she is okay. Soon he will wake up.”

“Hey, are you listening? I’ve been talking for a while but you’re an idiot.” Joshua tapped me on the shoulder because he noticed.

“Yes, let’s go,” I said quickly making him laugh.

“W-what? Never mind Vinyl. Anyway, I am sorry regarding earlier but I know your dad is alive. Tito Paolo is alive, he is here.” I immediately covered her mouth because someone might hear, especially mommy who lost consciousness.

After a while, it moved and I quickly removed my palm from Joshua’s mouth.

“Mommy!” I immediately hugged it because I was so worried.

“What happened, daughter?” she asked which gives me alarm and make my mind panic because I don’t know what to say to her. Should I tell her what she heard and what I found out or should I ignore it and say differently?

“Nothing, mom. You passed out from the heat. How are you feeling?” I changed the conversation because I don’t want her to think about that when she woke up, especially since I don’t have enough evidence of Joshua’s words is not enough as my proof.

Until I remembered that Sir BenChua was still in the living room.

“Mommy, if you are still not okay. Please rest for a while. Because Sir BenChua is here now. Joshua, you’re going home too, aren’t you?” I looked at Joshua’s behavior and smiled while my eyes said yes, I’m going home.

“A-ah yeah auntie. . . By the way, sorry for the trouble. I have to go anyway,” Joshua answered while smiling. It’s good that he bit what I did and he immediately thought of what to say.

Mommy smiled and held Joshua’s hand. “You’re handsome Joshua and you’re big too. Thanks for visiting even though I don’t remember what happened. Getting old is hard.” Joshua just grinned and said, “That’s nothing, aunty. Rest now. Always be careful.” Joshua reminds mommy of a son preaching to his mother.

I pulled his hand. “Alright mommy, he’s leaving.” I pulled him quickly and mommy just said goodbye to him and I also closed mommy’s door so that she can rest well.

“We will talk about what you said next week. Now you have to go home first because Sir BenChua is here.” I looked at him seriously and when we looked into the living room, Sir BenChua was just there waiting for us.

He took my hand and kissed it and then said something but in a low voice. “Mission 102. Prepare it.”

I was surprised by what he did but the words he said made me think more. His words were weak but clear. What’s the mission again, that?

I quickly removed my palm from his hand. I also raised my eyebrows hoping that he would understand what I wanted to convey.

“I have to go now bro, please take care of Cinyla and aunt. I just came here to visit them because it looks like I’m busy too. Hopefully, we can meet, soon.

“Wait, who are you?” Sir BenChua asked irritably.

“Oh, I’m so sorry. My name is Joshua. Childhood friend and batch mate of Cinyla from first to fourth-year college. Anyway, I’m leaving,” he approached Sir BenChua and patted his arm.

“Sure bro, by the way, my name is BenChua,” he said seriously while Joshua finally left us, He just waved his hand as a sign of letting go.

Joshua had already left and it seemed like an angel had passed through the sudden silence between Sir BenChua and me.

“Why is he here? What happened to your mom?” he asked seriously without looking at me straight forward but his eyes were telling me something.

I was almost dumbfounded by what I was seeing but eventually, my spirit woke up, and thankfully I quickly woke up to the fact that it was the third time he asked about what happened to mommy.

“Just visiting, my mommy is okay now. The weather is just really hot. What are you doing here with us?”

“I just came here since I miss you already. Maybe it’s better that you always have work to do.” My ears almost perked up at the last thing he said. But I quickly asked him. “W-why?”

“So that he won’t visit anymore and I can always be with you in the office. I told you earlier, I missed you so much.”

Suddenly, my heart beat faster as if I was going to explode at any moment because of the bullets attached to my chest.

“I’m jealous, Cinyla. I’m jealous of your closeness with that man named Joshua.”

“What makes you jealous? He is my childhood friend and batchmate, that’s all, believe it or not,” I explained.

It’s still serious and looking at me badly. I don’t know what’s going on in his mind. Above all, he must not be jealous because we don’t have one.

“I know Cinyla, but I know the ways of man. So I hope if there is a problem, you call me and not another man.” I just cringed at what he was saying. But his face looks so cute every time he is jealous. D*mn! What is this feeling?

I don’t know what to say because of how he looks now. I feel like a tomato from both my cheeks.

I bowed down and soon it came closer. He holds my hand and says, “Even without us, I love you and you are only mine.”

I bit my bottom lip because of the last thing he said and I guess I was speechless because until now I couldn’t say anything. For a few moments, I dared to break free from his hold on my hand.

Just as I let go of his hand, my cell phone rang. “Excuse me, I just went to mommy’s room. Let’s talk later, sir,” I excused myself but the truth was I wanted to check my phone. I quickly went straight to mommy’s room and saw the sadness on her face, but I ignored it because of my strange feeling.

I got my phone in my pocket and I read a message coming from Joshua.

Mission 102 is accomplished.
