“Call it Lucky dear.” Mia answered with a broad smile.
“How about you? Can I call you daddy?” Ariel asked, turning to Antonio.
Mia was stunned, she didn’t expect that. She turned to look at Antiono who wore a worried face and was equally stunned.
“Err…” he stammered looking at Mia for help.
” Call him Mr. Antiono.”
“No Ariel. Call me anything you want.”

” Which restaurant do you suggest?”
” How about dinner at my home?” She asked.
“It’s my pleasure, Miss Mia.”
She wasn’t happy with him calling him that,
“I want to call someone.” She didn’t wait for his response and left to the other side of the road.
She took out her phone and dialed Emma’s contact, she answered after a few rings.
“Are you home?” She asked.
” Yes…I’m preparing dinner.”
“Okay, Antiono would be joining us for dinner.”
“Wow! Did you really meet Antonio? Tell me every detail.”
“I will tell you everything when we see, just prepare dinner please.”
” Alright. I will be waiting.”
From where she was, Mia watched Antonio and Ariel. They looked cute together as they laughed and played, the way Antiono played with Ariel looked very lovely. Ariel kept talking while Antiono listened to her, sometimes pulling her cheeks and patting her hair. She watched them for a while until they noticed her gaze.
Antiono signaled her to come over,
“Are you done with your phone call?” He asked immediately as she came closer.
” Yeah. I had to call my best friend, I see you too are having a swell time.”
” Don’t be ridiculous, she’s just telling me the fun things she will do with Lucky.”
She faked a smile to hide the jealousy she felt, Ariel was laughing with someone she just met but had never talked or interacted like she did to Antonio to her.
” Can we go home? I wouldn’t want us to eat the food cold.”
She stomped off in anger and Antiono knew why.
“Don’t worry, your mum is just jealous you’re spending more time with me than her.” Ariel understood immediately Antiono explained things to her.
” Don’t be stubborn and don’t act like a baby.” Antiono had told Mia immediately they got to the car. She Said nothing as she could only smile, the only thing she could think of was dealing with him later.
The next minutes were replaced with silence but it didn’t last long because Antiono didn’t know the address and Ariel wasn’t doing a good job of directing him.
They got home and met Emma watering the garden, Ariel rushed to hug her.
“Emma, do you know I’ve got a new puppy?”
“You’re just telling me, Can I see your little puppy?” Emma asked with faked ignorance.
The little girl rushed back to take the puppy from Antonio. It was a brown puppy, covered with so much hair. None of them were sure of the species.
” Isn’t she Cute, Emma?”
“Oh my goodness! She looks gorgeous. What’s her name?”
” Lucky.”
” Your mum thought of the name right?”
” Yes…how did you know?”
“It was the same dog she had when she was your age.”
“Wow!” Antonio raised an eyebrow in surprise.
They were still laughing and talking when they heard a strange voice, everyone turned to see who it was.
Mia was so shocked when her eyes met face to face with the man she hated so much, Wilson.
” So this is what you’re doing? You abandoned our wedding to follow him because of his wealth?” He yelled at Mia.
Antiono, who was shocked by the audacity of this stranger, stood out to confront him.
“Hey man! Who are you and that’s not the right way to talk to a woman.”
” Stay out of a family matter, this concerns my family. You use your wealth to take my daughter.”
” Your daughter?” Antiono asked, and he was quite surprised. Mia never mentioned who the father of Ariel was, but how could she get Married to a ruthless man like this? Someone who didn’t even care about her.”
” Yes, my daughter.” Wilson affirmed.
Mia stood still, she was more shocked than everyone, anger and rage filled her veins.
” What are you even ranting about?” Emma had asked angrily, “have you forgotten Mia found you in bed with another woman just days before your wedding?”
Antonio was shocked. Was Mia really in a relationship with someone else? He only knew it was not true because he was already in love with her.
“Mummy please, who is this man?” Ariel asked in fright.
“He’s just a stranger Ariel, go Inside and play with your puppy.”
” I’m your father Ariel.”
“What? How dare you? You stop blabbering now or else I will call up the security agent.” Emma threatened.
“Yes, Call them up. I’m sure they will like to know why you won’t let me see my child.”
Both Emma and Mia were both surprised at his boldness.
“I’m really sorry about this Mia.” Antiono said he was really disappointed. Mia had lied to him.
“No, Antiono. This is just a misunderstanding. I don’t have anything with him.” She pleaded in tears.
” Yes Mr. Antiono. Don’t leave.” Ariel begged.
” Stay with your new dad Ariel. I have some work to do.” He said and left for his car.
” You monster.” Emma yelled as she tried to slap Wilson but he dodged and held her on the wrist.
” I’m back Emma and you can’t send me away. I will make your lives terrible.” He swore with a dirty smirk.
” You’re such a devil, Wilson .” She spat in disgust.
” Those words don’t hurt me. Look at the little girl looking so heartbroken, her new daddy doesn’t want her.” He laughed with so much mockery that made Emma so annoyed but she had to control her anger.
“Don’t you miss me, Mia?”, He asked turning to Mia but he received a slap instead of an answer.
