Unbreakable Love His Passion for Her Transcends Death

Chapter 527

Before Daphne could kiss Xavier, a strong force suddenly pushed her away. The man lying on the bed opened his eyes.Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

"Xav..." Daphne's expression changed instantly.

Hadn't Jeremiah said that Xavier had been drugged and would be completely powerless to resist?

Daphne quickly got up to leave, but Xavier grabbed her wrist first, holding it tightly.

"Who sent you? What are you trying to do?" he demanded. There was no way Daphne had the ability to kidnap him on her own.

"Xav, I don't know what you're talking about. You got drunk, and you called me to come over." Daphne tried to lie. If she confessed about Jeremiah now, there would be only one outcome-death.

Xavier was barely holding on at this point. He had been drugged at the banquet but had managed to stay conscious through sheer willpower. His forehead was covered in sweat.

Seeing that Daphne refused to tell the truth, he grabbed her by the throat. "Speak, or I'll kill you right now!"

Daphne's body instantly went rigid, and her breathing became labored. "H-Help me..."

Xavier's grip tightened, cutting off her voice completely.

"I know there's someone outside the door. What do you think will happen first-them coming in here to save you, or you dying by my hands?"

Daphne had never imagined Xavier could be so terrifying. She immediately stopped struggling.

Xavier's grip loosened slightly. "Start talking."

"Jeremiah was the one who sent me. He told me to sleep with you and record it on video to show Yvette. He even arranged for the media to come and take photos at dawn." Xavier couldn't believe that his own brother would resort to such immoral tactics.

Jeremiah certainly knew Yvette well. If Yvette saw him in bed with Daphne, their relationship would be irreparably damaged.

"And the photos that were exposed in the news the day before yesterday-was that his doing too?"

"H-He told me to take the photos..."

"How did you take them?" Xavier pressed. He had asked Mark to investigate. It turned out that the photos hadn't been edited.

"I took them with Jeremiah," Daphne confessed. Jeremiah looked exactly like Xavier, so with him around, there was no need to forge photos to frame Xavier.

"Was Jeremiah also the one who got you out of the mental asylum?" Xavier asked.

Daphne was stunned. Tristan and Xavier had sent her to the asylum before the latter had lost his memory. Had he not actually lost his memory? Had his memory returned? "Yes."

"What else don't I know?"

"That's all," Daphne replied with a quiver in her voice. She was on the verge of tears. "Xav, I was forced to do this. Please don't kill me; I won't dare to do it again."

Xavier didn't want to dirty his hands.

He tied Daphne to the bed with the bedsheets and gagged her with a cloth. With the men guarding outside and the internal

communications cut off, the only thing left for Daphne was a camera.

Xavier could only wait until morning when the media would arrive. However, as time passed, the fire inside him grew stronger, and his body was drenched in sweat. He showered with cold water

repeatedly, but he couldn't quench the burning rage within.

Daphne noticed something was wrong with him and deliberately made sounds to get his attention, but he remained unmoved.

Daphne refused to believe Xavier could hold out until morning.

Meanwhile, Yvette and Mark met up and began checking road surveillance to find Xavier. But Xavier's car had vanished in a blind spot of the cameras, leaving them with no leads.

...

With a frown, Mark immediately

ordered a review of the banquet's surveillance footage. Since they couldn't track where Xavier had gone, they could start by identifying anyone from the banquet who might have taken Xavier.

Mark quickly narrowed down a few of Xavier's former rivals, including Sunny. Suddenly, an idea struck him.

"Mrs. Lane, I might need to ask a favor from you."
