"I'll go and have a look." Y

vette went downstairs at once, but she found that the door to Xavier's room was tightly shut. Since nothing seemed to be wrong, she didn't interfere.

She was sure that Xavier would leave if he couldn't stand living here.

The next day, Yvette got up early to prepare breakfast.

She made blueberry pancakes on purpose, because she knew that Xavier was picky and didn't like blueberries. Zachary had inherited this trait. He refused to even touch blueberries. Viola wasn't up yet, so Yvette set a portion aside and served the rest.

Xavier came out after washing up.

He had changed into casual clothes, and when Yvette looked over at him, she realized that there was a large cut on his forehead.

She immediately realized what had happened. That thump she had heard yesterday must have been because he had bumped his head on something.

Yvette pretended not to see it and said, "We can eat breakfast now."

"Okay." Xavier walked over carefully. It wasn't a big place, but there was furniture everywhere.

He was afraid of bumping into another piece of furniture that was the only one of its kind in the house and making Yvette angry again.

Yvette wanted him to leave as soon as possible, but she couldn't bring herself to watch him walk into the

wall. "Walk to the left a bit. You're about to bump into the wall."

Xavier stopped in his tracks. The tips of his ears burned scarlet.

He walked a few steps to the left and then walked quickly over to the dining table. He pulled out a chair and sat down smoothly. "Thank you. I've committed it to memory."

He was being so obliging that Yvette found herself wishing that he hadn't lost his memories. It made it difficult for her to treat him badly.

She put two pancakes on his plate, as well as two fried eggs. "Here."

"Thank you. I'll get up earlier in the future to help you." He hadn't slept well in the unfamiliar bed last night, so he had woken up late.

Yvette was startled again. "It's alright. You can't see, anyway. What could you help me with?"

Xavier's throat constricted, but then his tone softened. "You don't need to work. Come back with Viola to Dewberry Manor, and I'll provide for the both of you." He would provide for them?

Yvette almost choked on her pancakes. "I don't need you to provide for me. I can provide for myself."

Xavier took out a gold card and held it out to her.

Yvette was confused. "What are you doing?"

"It's your salary," Xavier said. He had told Mark to get the card ready before he had moved there. Although he had lost his memories, he had found out over the past few days that he had once been the CEO of a multinational company and had accumulated a large sum of savings over the years.

"I don't want it." Yvette didn't want to use his money.

Xavier put the card down. "You don't have to want it, but I still have to give it to you."

"Hurry up and eat. I've got to compose some music later." Yvette ignored him. The shining gold card lay there on the dining table.Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.

Xavier ate a piece of pancake, and his brow furrowed immediately. "Ywy..."

"What is it now?" Yvette looked up impatiently.

"Can you do me a favor? I don't eat blueberries. Can you pluck them out for me?"

He might have lost his memories, but his tastes remained the same. His habit of ordering people around hadn't changed, either. Yvette reached for his plate and plucked a few blueberries out carelessly before handing it back. "Alright, you can eat it now."

Xavier ate another piece, but after a moment, he couldn't help asking, "Yvvy, are you sure you got them all out?"

"Yes, I am. Did you bite into one again? Maybe it was just one," Yvette said as she got up. "I'm going to compose some music. When you've eaten, remember to wash the dishes. The sink is two steps in front of you."

She wasn't treating Xavier as if he were blind at all.

If Xavier had been the way he had been before he had lost his memories, he would have gotten angry that the food wasn't to his liking and would have never done the dishes.

Now, however, he ate all the blueberry pancakes and really went to wash the dishes.

How could a man who had been born with a silver spoon in his mouth wash the dishes?

Yvette had gone back to her room to compose her music when Viola came down and saw that the kitchen was covered in bubbles.
