Chapter 2231
Chapter 2231
Sebastian was surprised to hear that. He did not quite understand what was going on. It was the first time Grace had asked him to wait even though he was hungry.
Could it be that they were having guests over?
Sure enough, just as Sebastian was lost in his thoughts, Grace smiled and said, "Sebastian, you don't have any plans tonight, right?"
Sebastian was dumbstruck. He looked at her and asked, "Why? What's the matter?"
"I'm just asking you. You won't be going out today, right?" Grace asked again.
Sebastian nodded. "I don't have anything else to do."
After giving his reply, Sebastian felt a little regretful.
He felt that he seemed to have answered too rashly.
What if! Sebastian thought to himself.
Before he could think further, his mother immediately told him her plans.
"Since you have nothing else to, that's great. Claudia is coming over for dinner tonight. You should be welcoming her as well. Don't be rude," Grace told Sebastian.
"Claudia is coming over?" Sebastian exclaimed, frowning. Only then did he realize that he had inadvertently shown his anxiousness.
He looked at Grace and found that she was looking at him with a piercing gaze. It seemed as if she was trying to guess what was going on in his mind.
Sebastian immediately felt that something was amiss.
He composed himself and said in a calm tone, "Didn't we invite Claudia over for dinner yesterday? Why is she coming over today?"
Moreover, Sylvia had not told him they were inviting Claudia over that time. It seemed that Sylvia hid it from him on purpose.
Grace laughed and said, "Claudia had something else to do yesterday and couldn't come. That's why we rescheduled to today. It just so happens that you're home today as well."
"Mommy, I'm not close with Claudia. It doesn't matter whether I'm at home or not," Sebastian pointed out.
"How can it have nothing to do with you?" Grace asked with a faint smile.
"I don't have anything to do with her," Sebastian explained in a serious tone. "She's a woman. What do I have to do with her?"
Grace could tell that Sebastian was getting a little agitated already.
He had also unconsciously raised his voice. It seemed that he was a little afraid that Grace would misunderstand him.
Grace smiled again and said, "Sebastian, you're still underage. Why do you have to differentiate men and women so clearly? I'm not thinking about anything at all. However, it seems like you're the one thinking too much instead. Claudia is Mr. Trevino's cousin, and she's considered an elder to you. You should show her some respect and not address her by her first name."
Sebastian calmed down considerably when he heard Grace referring to Claudia as an "elder" in such a serious and normal tone.
Nheless, he still felt that she seemed to be targeting him by inviting Claudia over.
Sebastian dismissed the thought, telling himself that he was thinking too much. He hoped it was so.
Sebastian nodded slightly. After thinking for a while, he said to Grace, "You're right. Miss Loris is indeed an elder. It's more respectful for me to call her 'aunt'."
Grace smiled. "Yes. You should be more polite later. Don't forget your manners, okay?"
"I understand." Sebastian lowered his eyes, looking right at his shoes. No one knew what was going on in his mind.
Grace could see that he was thinking about something.
Was Heinz's guess really right? Grace wondered.
It did seem that Sebastian did have some subtle feelings for Claudia. Although he tried to cover it up, Grace was still more experienced in that area. Naturally, she would be able to tell.
She looked at Sebastian meaningfully, then finally smiled. "Even if you're hungry, you should still wait for a while. Claudia should be arriving soon." "It's all right. I'm not that hungry yet," Sebastian replied obediently.
Grace nodded. "I heard from Sylvia that Claudia will be staying here in Northern City for work from now on. She'll be a colleague of your uncle if Mr. Trevino leaves the school and goes back to his unit, Claudia wouldn't have any relatives here in Northern City. We should also take care of Claudia." "I don't think it's necessary," Sebastian interjected.
"Since she chose to work in Northern City, so must've already thought through everything. Maybe she doesn't need our help at all."
"A girl without any relatives working
out there alone? How could she not
need anyone to give her some help?" Grace looked at Sebastian meaningfully and continued, "I remember when your aunt and used to wander around with your brother. If we hadn't met many kind- hearted people, we would've led a míserable life. Now that we have the ability to help others, we should give help and care for others. You're my son. You're the kindest and most obedient person. How can you say such things?"
Stunned, Sebastian did not refute. "You're right. I'll try to help her where I can in the future."
"Good," Grace replied with an approving look. Then, she smiled and added, "As a gentleman, you should help women where you can. You should also respect women."
"Okay. I'll remember that," Sebastian replied.
"Sebastian, you've never made me worry for you. You're a good boy. I worry about you the least among your brothers," Grace said.
Sebastian was silent for a moment before saying, "I hope I won't let you down then. "Of course you won't. You're the best." "Mommy, let me go upstairs to study. I don't know when our guest will arrive, so let me study a little first." Sebastian felt it was better for him to leave first.
Grace paused for a moment. She was about to say something when the butler's voice rang out from the doorway, "Mrs. Jones, Miss Loris is here." Grace looked toward the door and said to Sebastian, "Look, she's here. Since she's arrived, you shouldn't go upstairs. Help me welcome our guest." Sebastian looked over and saw Claudia appearing at the door.
Their eyes met. Claudia was also stunned when she saw him. However, she quickly shifted her gaze and looked at Grace. She smiled and greeted, "Hello, Aunt Smith."
Grace was a little dumbfounded when she heard Claudia addressing her that way, but then she laughed and said, "Claudia, you're here. Are you hungry?"This is the property of Nô-velDrama.Org.
Claudia shook her head as she walked toward Grace. "I'm not hungry yet. The last time I saw you, I thought you were the most beautiful and graceful pregnant woman I'd ever seen. Seeing you today, I still think you're the most beautiful pregnant woman I have ever seen."
