Trouble in Paradise (Arianna and Nicholas)

Chapter 0417

Chapter 0417

By the time Claudia had returned to the villa located on the outskirts of Radiant City, Nicholas was already curled up in the corner of the room.

A plastic spoon had been broken into two, and the sharp edge of one end was pierced into Nicholas' arm.

He watched calmly as blood began to flow from his wounds. He was beginning to think that perhaps he did not need any treatment as it seemed that no other treatment would work as effectively as hurting himself. "Nick! You promised me you wouldn't hurt yourself anymore!" Claudia cried as she knelt before him. Nicholas thought that she looked very much like that little girl who had relied on him when they were young.

"Yes, I did promise you that," he answered impassively as he pulled out the broken spoon and threw it to the ground. Blood immediately sprayed out of his wound.

Nicholas began to question when he realized he had such a side to him.

Perhaps he had always been this way since he was young, but he just did not understand what was happening due to his age. He just felt that all of his emotions were crashing violently within him.

He would always seclude himself from other people and locked himself in his room, suppressing all of his

emotions.

Back then, he had always been able to control himself and hid his condition well. He had even gotten used to strangers complimenting him for his controlled and mature demeanor. So, why couldn't he control himself now?

Perhaps he had begun to lose control the day I made up my mind to move to another city with Pete. He had been plagued with nightmares for those past few days, dreaming of me laying in Pete's arms, while we invited him to our wedding..

No! Nicholas realized he had lost control much earlier than that. Perhaps on the day when I wanted to divorce him, or on the day we had gotten married, our fates had already been planned.

*Claudia, prepare a suit for me. I don't want to stay here anymore." He smiled weakly, and his expression was filled with bitterness as he continued, "It's not helping."

Currently, Nicholas felt like a crazed dog. Since when had he ever been so weak?

His voice was filled with determination as he said, "I want to go back and fight for what I want. Otherwise, my condition will only worsen."Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g

Claudia placed her hand on Nicholas' forehead and cried, "Nick, are you tired? Why don't you lie in bed and rest for a while."

Nicholas felt himself grow numb. He just wanted to leave.

"Claudia," he said as he looked around the clean and empty room.

Other than a bed, there was

practically no other furniture there. "How can I continue to allow myself to stay in such a place? This place is basically screaming at me, telling me that I'm a lunatic.

"I'm Nicholas Hawk! I've become the head of the Hawk family since my father's death. How can I lock myself up in such a place?"

He clenched his hands tightly into fists. He used so much force that the veins around his arms bulged. At the same time, it also revealed a mix of old and new scars around his arms.

Claudia held his hand and cried out in pain. "Nick, are you planning to go back like this? What if your business partners see the scars on your hands when you reach out to shake their hands after a meeting?" "These scars will fade-

"How can you be so sure that there won't be any new scars on your hand? Do

you want Ariana to see these scars when you meet her? You'll end up scaring her. Any normal person will be scared. Don't you want to leave a good impression on her?"

Claudia bit her lips, looking as if she wished she could take on Nick's pain as her own. Her eyes were filled with tears, but the second she lowered her head, malice flashed in her eyes.

"You're right. How can I let her be afraid of me?" Nicholas blinked as he looked at Claudia.

There was a dazed look in his eyes as he said, "Then how long more do I have to stay here? How long did the doctors say I have to wait until I can meet her again?"

"Very soon. Nick, trust me. I'll go and talk to the doctor now and tell them your wishes. Since you're exhausted, why don't you go and rest on the bed?"

After comforting Nicholas a little while longer, Claudia left Nicholas' room.

She went to look for his doctor and

said, "Do I think my brother's condition is worsening. He seems to be much more out of it the more I talk to him. He would have these absurd ideas.

"You can also have a go and talk to him. He doesn't want to undergo treatment, so he's much more sensitive toward that topic. You can't let him..."

Once Claudia finished her conversation with the doctor, she smiled happily as satisfaction filled her eyes. Nick could only be hers...
