Chapter 9
Chapter 9
Coming down from the car, Oliver bumped into Jack Philip, his best friend.
“Hi Mate,” They exchanged a hug.
“What’s up with you and Andrea?”
“Nothing, we are good.”
Jack scrunched his brows.
“Dude, I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“She called me, crying, saying you don’t love her anymore.”
Oliver mumbled inaudibly, shaking his head.
“Did you ask her what I did that made her say so?”
“She said you don’t want to get married to her.”
“So she was crying about it?”
“She was over the phone. Don’t know if it’s real or fake.”
Ollie scoffed, “Women!!! They are so complicated.”
“But you two have known each other for a very long time.” Jack reasoned
Oliver glared at his best friend, “And what’s that supposed to mean?”
“I’m not insinuating anything but there has to be a purpose if you both have been dating that long.”
“Give me a break Jack, it’s just two years. People date for seven years and don’t even get married.” This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.
“How do you expect me to know? I’ve never been in a serious relationship before.”
“And before you attack me, You spoiled her way too much so she was in a good position to demand for marriage.”
“What do you mean?”
“I never knew you could be a one-man woman until you met Andre. Literally everyone in the country is envious of your relationship with her and it’s second to none how you spoil her to stupor.”
“I honestly don’t know how she managed to tame me that long.”
Jack chuckled, “That doesn’t mean you’ve been faithful.”
Oliver shot him a glare.
“Have you?” He teased.
“That’s not the point. I honestly get tired of ladies because they start to get clingy and all of that but I just can’t get enough of Andrea.”
“So what was your reply to her?”
“Not possible. I can give her all she wants but not marriage. I’m never going down that lane.”
“So are you both still together or?”
“She stormed out of my office. I can’t give her what she wants so I think that ends it all.”
“So what about you wanting a child? You can make her your baby mama if you’re up for it.”
“Gosh, Jack, Like I do not know that already. I’ve always been careful and the reason why I have no child yet is because I’m not ready.”
“Dude, you’re 36. You want to be a Dad when you’re too old and you won’t be able to play with your child?”
“Why all these troubling talks?”
Jack shrugged, “Just saying.”
“Your Dad isn’t expecting a grandchild soon?”
“He dare not ask me about it.”
Jack laughed. “You’re lucky Dior Peters isn’t your father.” Jack referred to his father.
“Are we going to go in or you plan to keep me here.”
The duo were at the car park.
“Sure, Since we tell each other everything, just felt you should know about your girl. Or should I say your ex?”
“Whatever. I just need someone capable of calming my nerves tonight.”
Jack smiled, “I got you, buddy.” Then they made their way into the club.
.....................
Katherine spent half of her night tossing around the bed with a million thoughts flowing in her mind and head. That made her wake up tired. Even though she mostly had afternoon shifts at the office, She wakes up early to dress her kids for school.
Kathie dragged herself from the bed to the bathroom, did some cleanup, and then exited her room, making her way to the boys’ room. Sebastian and Samuel shared a room.
Helping herself in, Her lips curved into a beautiful smile sighting her babies on their beds. The duo refused to stay in separate rooms and they practically did everything together. She chuckled at their sleeping positions. Katherine went to Sebastian’s side of the bed first. She sat by the side he placed his head. “My love,” She whispered in his ear. “Sebby,”
“Mama.” He mumbled with his eyes closed.
“Yes, my love.”
The little boy finally opened his eyes. “Mommy,” He crawled into Katherine’s arms. She smiled, cuddling him.
“Good morning,”
Katherine smiled even more, kissing her son on the forehead.
“Morning my love, Did you sleep well?”
He nodded against his mother’s chest.
“You and your brother were asleep by the time I came back yesterday. You boys played a lot during the day, didn’t you?”
“Not really, mommy.” Katherine chuckled, knowing her son wouldn’t admit it.
“Are we going to school today?”
“Yes honey, but you don’t have school tomorrow.”
He pulled away from Katherine’s chest and looked into her eyes.
“Is tomorrow Grandma’s wedding party?”
“No. Not Tomorrow. Next Week.”
“I’m not sure we would be attending.”
“Why? But it’s Grandma’s party.” He frowned at Katherine.
“Yes but it’s an adult party. We would probably be going to aunt Michie’s place.”
“But are you not an adult too?”
Katherine mentally face-palmed, forgetting that she was talking to the smartest of the triplets.
“By adult, I mean people around Grandma’s age.”
Sebastian stared at his mommy as though he didn’t believe her. The little boy looked serious and she couldn’t help but think he looked so much like his father that way__Exactly why they had to skip the wedding.
“Okay.” The little boy answered. “Will you drive us to school today?”
Kathie honestly had no intention to take the kids to school herself today. The plan was to tell Alice and the driver to drop them. But looking at her first son’s face right now, it was so hard to refuse.
“Yes, I will. Let’s wake your brother up and get you both ready.”
Sebby nodded then got down from his mother’s lap. He made his way to his brother’s bed which was just beside his own. He climbed on top of the bed and started jumping up and down. “Wake up Sammy.” “Wakeee up” “wake up”
Katherine chuckled at how Samuel groaned on the bed.
“Stop jumping, honey. You know your brother isn’t a morning person.”
“That’s why I have to jump. So he can stand up.” Sebastian explained but stopped jumping anyways.
Katherine joined her boys, taking a seat beside Samuel who still had his eyes closed.
“Good morning sweets. You don’t wanna be late for school. Do you?”
“I’m going to tell Kiki you don’t like school,” Sebastian said, sitting beside his mother.
Sammy slowly opened his eyes.
Katherine chuckled, “Who’s Kiki?” She knew almost all their friends but this was the first time hearing this name.
“The new girl in class.”
“So She likes Sammy?”
“Yes.” Sebby giggled.
“No.” Sammy frowned.
“Wow. Who should I believe?”
“She likes Sammy but Sammy doesn’t like her that’s why he said NO.”
Katherine smiled. Truth be told, the moment he was born, She knew he was going to be a heartbreaker. Just like his father.
Knowing how mean her seven-year-old son could be, Katherine said to him. “What did I tell you about being nice to people?”
“I’m nice, mommy.”
“Liar!” Sebastian giggled, earning a glare from Sammy.
“You can’t like everybody but that does not stop you from being nice.”
“I’m nice. She just likes to talk to me but I don't want to talk to her.”
“That’s not being nice. You’re being bossy. I will have Magda make a cookie. You’ll give it to her and apologize.”
“No.” Sammy frowned, folding his arms.
Heaven knows that Katherine loves her babies so much and would do anything for them. She had studied their personalities over the years and had come to know Sammy as the stubborn one. No doubt he had his father’s personality but she was determined to raise him to be a good man.”
“You would do as I say, young man.”
“I didn’t hurt her so why should I apologize?”
“You did. She was sad yesterday.” Sebby chirped in, earning a frown from Sammy.
“Mommy is not going to be your friend again if you don’t stop being mean to people. Is that what you want?”
Sammy didn’t say anything.
“Fine. I’ll apologize to her.” He finally said.
“Good. Let’s get you ready for school.”
“What’s that?” Sammy asked, pointing at his mother’s finger.
Katherine looked down and saw that her son was referring to her engagement ring.
“Let me see.” Sebastian took his mother’s hand. “It’s just like Grandma’s own but this is in another color and prettier.”
“You are going to get married too?” Sammy said, not sounding happy about it.
“To Lewis?” Sebastian frowned.
The whole family, including the triplets, were there when Andre proposed to their grandma so they sort of have an idea about all that was about to happen.
