superhero or a Prince
Marco could only remain silent as he watched Freya run straight towards Abian and embrace him tightly. Abian, in turn, accepted the hug from his little princess.
“Hey, you smell nice and look beautiful. It seems like you’re ready,” Abian’s words made Freya nod her head.
“Of course, I can’t wait to go to the city,” Freya replied, making Abian smile again. Freya then shifted her gaze towards Marco, who was still standing not far from them.
“Oh, I forgot to mention. Uncle will also be joining us in the city. Won’t it be more fun with more people, Uncle?” Freya’s remark made Abian look towards Marco with a hardened jaw. Though not explicitly, Marco showed his anger. However, Abian knew very well that the arrogant man was currently trying his best to contain his anger.
“Yes, that’s a great idea. Where is your mother?” Abian asked, making Freya look towards Letta’s bedroom door.
“It seems like Mom is just finishing getting ready. We can wait,” Freya’s words made Abian nod. Freya then got off Abian’s lap.
“Yesterday, I made cookies with Mom. I was planning to bring them to Uncle’s house. But it was already late, so I kept them. Would Uncle like to try them now?” Freya asked, making Abian nod. As the little girl ran to the kitchen to get a bag of cookies that seemed to have been intentionally left for Abian, Marco felt even more convinced that he had a long way to go to capture the attention of his little princess, as the cookies she made yesterday were not just for him but also prepared for Abian.
“Wow, cookies! As usual, I love them so much, Uncle will definitely finish them. Is this all for Uncle?” Abian asked, making Freya nod with a wide smile. Freya then looked at Abian.
“Is Uncle’s long legs not tired? Uncle can sit here with me and also with Uncle,” Freya said, causing Marco to prepare to respond, when Abian cut him off once again.
“No need, Uncle’s legs are very strong. They can even stop a car that’s about to hit you. Just consider them like a robot made of steel,” Abian said, making Marco immediately look at him with a disapproving gaze, while Freya looked at him with sparkling eyes.
“Really? Doesn’t that sound amazing? Is Uncle like a superhero?” Freya asked, making Marco, who seemed to have no chance to speak, once again being preempted by Abian.
“Yes, let’s just consider him like that. He’s like a superhero who will save the earth,” Abian said with a mocking tone towards Marco, while Freya immediately looked at him with a furrowed brow.
“If Uncle is a superhero, then what does that make Abian?” Freya asked with an innocent gaze that momentarily silenced Abian before he widened his smile.NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.
“What if he becomes a Prince on a white horse to rescue a princess? Doesn’t that sound good?” Abian said, making Marco really want to burst into laughter right now. How could he possibly become a Prince ona white horse, Marco thought, which seemed to have no effect on Abian’s teasing.
“Then who will be the princess?” Freya asked.
“What if your mother is the one, Uncle will save your mother from the attacks of monsters, do you agree?” Abian asked, making Freya nod with a beaming smile.
“Yes, Uncle can save my Mom. You two can live happily ever after, and I will be happy seeing your story,” Freya said with her wide smile, making Abian chuckle along. Their interaction truly made Marco’s blood boil. How could that man possibly become the happy ending for Letta, Marco thought, finally choosing to approach and interrupt their intimacy.
“So, who do you think is greater, being a superhero or being a Prince ona white horse?” Marco asked Freya, who immediately fell silent, trying to think of an answer for Marco, making Abian look at her with raised eyebrows. Of course, Abian knew that Marco didn’t agree with his role as a superhero destined to save the world.
“I don’t know. Aren’t they both great?” Freya asked, making Marco shake his head.
“Of course not. Isn’t the difference between them quite significant? A Prince only saves one person, while a superhero can save the entire world, right? Wasn’t that mentioned as the superhero duty for Uncle?” Marco asked, making Abian really want to burst into laughter right then, seeing the childish behavior of the old man who already had a child.
“Don’t say you don’t like your role. Come on, just accept it. Hasn’t Freya also agreed that I will be the prince saving the Princess?” Abian said again, making Marco try to remain as calm as possible. Marco didn’t want Abian to continue underestimating him, as it could provoke his emotions.
“I don’t mind. I’m just asking, in Freya’s eyes, who seems more magnificent? You can see the comparison between the two, right?” Marco said, making Freya fall silent again. However, as Freya was about to speak up again, the voice of someone else stopped her.
“That’s enough to make my daughter confused with your childishness level, Freya come here,” Letta said, making Marco and Abian fall silent, seeing how Letta looked different at the moment.
“You look beautiful, Mom,” Freya said, making Letta’s face light up. Of course, her gaze immediately fell on Marco and Abian, who couldn’t even take their eyes off her.
“What did you say? Don’t I always look like this every day?” Letta said, making Freya shake her head.
“No, I mean it’s been a long time since Mom wore a dress like this. Wasn’t the last time, on my birthday, you usually only wore jeans and a regular T-shirt when you went to the city,” Freya said, once again making Letta feel that her current appearance was overly done. For some reason, Letta just wanted to wear clothes she hadn’t worn in a long time and fill the closet, but apparently her choice was completely wrong.
“I’m just trying to wear old clothes. I’m afraid that maybe the size doesn’t fit me anymore. If you don’t like it, [li change into regular jeans,” Letta said. But it wasn’t Freya who stopped her, but the two men who seemed to have regained their consciousness, Marco and Abian.
“No,” they said simultaneously, making Letta and Freya look at them, feeling embarrassed.
“See, even Uncle and Om agree that Mom looks beautiful in this outfit. Mom looks like the princess we were talking about earlier,” Freya said, making Letta can only turn her face away. Otherwise, the two people who kept staring at her would realize that her face was really feeling warm.
“We should take some packets of cookies to give to Rose and the wine cellar guard. Didn’t we make too many of them yesterday?” Letta said, walking towards the kitchen, followed by Freya.
“I’m wrapping them for them. I’ll be the one to distribute them later. Mom, could you please take them?” Freya said, making Letta nod. They then put the bags of cookies into a basket before walking closer to Marco and Abian.
“Actually, today we’ll just check the stock in the wine cellar, and afterward, I just want to take Freya for a walk in the city. So, in my opinion, we don’t need to go in a group,” Letta said, making Freya immediately look at her mother with a questioning gaze.
“Why, Mom? Isn’t it better to have more people? After we’re at the wine cellar, we can have fun in the city park and choose my favorite things. Uncle and Om will help us. Doesn’t that sound great?” Freya said, making Letta about to respond, but Abian immediately got up from his seat.
“Yes, what Freya said is right. Have fun. I’ll take care of things at the wine cellar. Later, you can spend time with Freya. Don’t worry about the matters at the cellar,” Abian said. However, as Letta was about to reply, Marco, who also got up from his seat, interrupted once again.
“Yes, that’s a good idea. You’ll handle the wine cellar, and I’ll take care of Letta and Freya. Isn’t that a fair division of tasks?” Marco said, making Abian look at him with raised eyebrows. It seemed like he made a mistake by taking on the task, Abian thought, which for some reason made Marco now display a victorious expression.
“In that case, let’s leave now,” Marco said again, finally leaving the simple house first. Letta could only smile awkwardly at Abian. They remained silent as they saw Marco and Abian open the doors of their respective cars.
“Are we going in two cars, Mom?” Freya asked, looking confused as well.
“As usual, we’ll use this car, Freya,” Abian said, referring to his regular van.
“But I think this time it’s better to use my car. After all, our tasks are different, right? We’ll go straight to the city, while you’ll go to the cellar. So, you can use your car, and Letta and Freya will come with me. How about that?” Marco asked again, seemingly wanting to outdo Abian.
“In that case, I’ll also use your car. I don’t mind if you drop me off first before you go to the city park,” Abian said, closing the door of his van and walking straight to the front of the car, making Marco truly believe that Abian couldn’t be easily defeated. Letta and Freya could only observe their childishness levels before finally following and getting into Marco’s car, sitting in the back seat.
