Chapter 24
"Olivia, you're truly despicable."
As she was lost in her own pleasant fantasies, a voice she absolutely detested rang out from behind her. Olivia's smile instantly froze, her brows knitting together as she turned, bewilderment written all over her face as she looked at Emma Johnson standing before her. "You...
"Hmph, surprised to see me here? If I'm not mistaken, it was you who had someone delete the surveillance footage, right?" Emma narrowed her eyes, her tone sharp with
accusation.
Olivia, feeling guilty, averted her gaze. "What does it have to do with you? The footage is gone; you should talk to the people in the monitoring room. Maybe they accidentally deleted it by mistake. It has nothing to do with me."
She defended herself eloquently, trying to shift the blame elsewhere as if washing her hands of the entire situation.
"You really haven't changed at all over the years. Using such petty tricks to keep a man is just foolish," Emma said, looking down at Olivia from her elevated position, her words dripping with sarcasm.
"Emma, I see you're just jealous. No matter what, Ethan Carter is still by my side, while you're nothing but a discarded woman thrown
away by him. What right do you have to bark at me? I advise you to leave quickly, or you'll end up thrown out like five years ago," Olivia replied with a wicked smile, her disdain evident in her eyes.
Emma's expression subtly shifted; Olivia's words hit a sore spot. Even after five years, thinking back on it still caused a pang of pain deep within her. She had thought that upon returning, she wouldn't be affected by them anymore, but clearly, that assumption was utterly wrong.
"Ms. Johnson, I don't blame you for this morning's incident. I know it wasn't your intention. Look at me now, I'm just fine. The doctor said I'm perfectly healthy, just need to rest for a couple of days," Olivia said, her previous arrogance switching to a Three Years to LoveContent protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

There's always a hidden motive when someone suddenly changes their attitude, Emma noted, catching a glimpse of Ethan approaching. That explained Olivia's abrupt shift- she was putting on a show for him. He must have heard everything Olivia had just said, and instead of anger, a hint of appreciation flickered in his eyes.
"Ethan, you're here!" Olivia declared, her face lighting up as she stood and rushed over to him, wrapping her arms tightly around his, almost hanging on him like a vine.
Emma rolled her eyes in disdain, taking a slight glance at them.
"I told you, I will investigate this matter. Why are you here in the hospital again?" Ethan's eyes met Emma's, his tone holding a touch of irritation.
"I came to check on Miss Brooks' injuries. But now it seems she's perfectly fine, which is truly disappointing. Goodbye," Emma sighed, shaking her head softly before turning to leave the room. Olivia was momentarily stunned, her face flushing with anger.
"Ethan, what does Ms. Johnson mean by that? I know you divorced her five years ago because of me, but has she still not gotten over it?" As she spoke, tears fell from her eyes like a broken string of pearls. Three Years to Love
