Chapter 1945
Wilfred, taken aback, retreated two steps and scanned the surroundings warily.
Hannah appeared, flipping coins in her hand, and remarked coolly, “Long time no see.

“You! You’re back!” Wilfred exclaimed, surprised yet defiant as he glanced at the crowd behind Hannah.
“So what?” he challenged.
A sizable group, maybe twenty or thirty strong, followed Hannah.
They moved forward, and Wilfred’s courage faltered, stopping him from shouting any further.
Hannah approached Trent and Keith, inquiring about their condition.
“Are you both alright?”
“I’m managing, but Trent’s got it worse,” Keith replied.
Only then did Hannah notice Trent’s abdomen was still bleeding.
She assessed the wound quickly, deemed it non-fatal, and directed her group to help Trent get medical attention.
“You should see a doctor too.
I’ll stay here,” she told Keith, reassuring him.
Turning to Wilfred with a stern look, Hannah declared, “He won’t be getting through.
”
Keith, his arm covered, nodded cautiously, “Be careful.
”
“Okay.
”
After their departure, Hannah settled into a chair by the door, eyeing the awkwardly ascending intruders.
“Well, do you still want to break in now?” she challenged.
With a clap of her hands, her men stepped aside, revealing the doorway.
She arched an eyebrow at Wilfred and gestured invitingly.
“Please, come in.
”
Wilfred seemed rooted to the spot, his mind racing with plots.
He said, “I know our desires align-we both seek money and power.
With Wallace’s fate hanging in the balance, why should we conflict? Why not share the Compton estate equally?”
Hannah responded with a sneer, remaining silent.

Wilfred continued, “I propose a split-four for me, six for you.
”
The corridor fell silent, Hannah remaining noncommittal.
Wilfred, undeterred, showed his hand, fingers outstretched.
“No less than three for me, seven for you!”
Hannah laughed openly.
“Are you delusional?”
“You!”
“Do you really think I’d agree to that?”
