The Rejected Luna: Daddy, Where is Mommy?

130

“You can put me in the cell for it or even banish me from the pack as a punishment. I don’t deserve anyone’s love. Mommy kept telling me to talk calmly after reaching the pack, but… but I didn’t listen to her.” She said, and tears escaped from her eyes. “Only if I would have listened to her, then this wouldn’t have happened.”

Calvin looked at her in shock. Five years old wanted to go behind bars and was suggesting him to kick her out of the pack to redeem her mistake because she was thinking that it was her mistake. But it wasn’t her mistake in the first place. He agreed that she shouldn’t have run away like that, but how could he blame her when is he being an adult, didn’t handle the situation maturely?

Then she was just a pup who just wanted her father’s happiness by running away from him.

“If you want punishment for this mistake, then you will get one,” Calvin spoke strictly. He knew that until and unless she wouldn’t get punished for what she did, she wouldn’t be able to forgive herself and for a pup of her age, blaming herself for her mother’s state wasn’t healthy for her mind.

“But your punishment doesn’t include throwing you out of the pack or sending you into the cell.” He paused before continuing, “Your punishment is that you will have to listen to your mother’s words ALWAYS without going against her.”

“I will. I will.” Roselet nodded her head and cried while Calvin wiped her tears. “But she will have to be awake from her deep sleep and start speaking to me so that I get a chance to follow all her words.” She added before asking.

“She will be all right, won’t she, daddy?” Roselet asked that question about which Calvin didn’t have an answer. Roselet hugged him after watching him silent. “I promise you, daddy, that now I won’t ask you two to stay together once she is awake. You were right. Not all pups get a chance to stay with their parents. I don’t want to learn this lesson the hard way. It will be better that she stays safe and sound away from here instead of staying here and falling in danger all the time.”Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.

Calvin didn’t like the way Roselet was giving up on her tiny little dream of staying with her real parents.

A large part of him was positive that the moment Ethlyn would be awake from her beauty sleep. She would LEAVE him for what he had done, and the fact that Roselet wasn’t going to help him either was going to make his situation more difficult than he thought.

‘Alpha, she is awake.’ Hearing this from Zordan, Calvin quickly completed bathing, which he hadn’t done in the last five days. Calvin barely used to leave Ethlyn’s side because he wanted to be beside her so that when she would open her eyes, she would find him beside him, waiting for her.

But today, everyone kicked him away from Ethlyn, saying that the reason Ethlyn wasn’t able to come out from her deep sleep was that whenever she used to try to wake up, her plan to wake up used to get canceled by smelling such an unbreathable scent around her.

‘If I would have known that she would be awake only when I would take a bath, then I wouldn’t have taken so much time.’ Calvin thought, and immediately he realized that he didn’t feel Cinder’s presence even if Ethlyn was awake.

‘Does that mean something…’ Keanu couldn’t even complete the sentence and ran as fast as he could to reach Ethlyn.

“Calvin, Calvin!! Wait. There is a problem.” Zordan stopped him outside Ethlyn’s room in which she was.

“I already know. Her wolf.” Saying this, he quickly opened the door of the room.

“No, it’s…” Words died in Zordan’s mouth when he realized that it was too late to inform anything to Calvin. Calvin looked at Ethlyn, who had a smile on her face and was holding Reva’s hand. She turned her head toward Calvin and smiled at him. Calvin’s eyes lightened up when he saw her smiling at him.

He was about to open his mouth when Ethlyn spoke, “And now, who is he?” She asked and looked at Reva.

“Umm… mm, he is the Alpha of my new pack,” Reva replied, and hearing this, Calvin felt that someone stole the ground under his feet.

“That’s cool. It seems like you’re everyone’s favorite here. That’s why all the family members on your Alpha are here.” Ethlyn said, and that was when Calvin looked at the face of his family members, who were equally shocked by all this.

“Everyone is here, dad,” Ethlyn said, looking at Christian Smith. “… but where is Mom? And most importantly, where is Nathan? I thought he would come here running like an idiot to see me.” She added with a big smile on her face. If her previous words had snatched the ground under Calvin’s feet, these words would have been like a tight slap on his face.

‘Please tell me that this is all dream.’ He thought in disbelief and pain. First, she forgot him, and second, she remembered that… that Nathan. This was no less than a joke.

‘Was this the problem that Zordan was talking about earlier?’ He wondered. ‘And what happened to her wolf and her memory?’ he questioned and looked at Liara, who was writing something on the notepad and might be studying this case.

‘Do hell with the study.’ He cursed and spoke, “Lee, Can I have you for a few minutes?”

“Excuse me,” She said and left the room with Calvin. “If you’re going to ask me what happened with her wolf, then for your kind information, I don’t know about it yet. And it looks like she is suffering from amnesia.”

“Looks like? Is there anything else that you can tell me that I don’t? Because I figured out both the situation already.” Calvin said, getting annoyed. He wasn’t able to understand what was making him more upset, the fact that Cinder wasn’t here or the fact that Ethlyn was looking for Nathan.

“She doesn’t remember anything from the moment she turned seventeen.” Liara said, to which Calvin gave her a ‘you gotta to be kidding me’ look. In short, Ethlyn had no memory of Calvin. All she remembered was that cheater Nathan, who practically broke all his ties with Elena after cheating on Ethlyn once and had been acting like a saint since then.

“But don’t worry, it won’t last long.”

“Still, how long?”

“Maximum a month,” Liara replied meekly when she saw her brother fuming in anger.

“Alpha,” Reva spoke behind him after walking out of the room. “I wanted to ask if we can call Nathan here. Ethlyn is asking for him again and again. And you know, there was a time when Nathan and Ethlyn were both inseparable.” Calvin’s fist clenched, hearing it.

“What are you planning to do then?” He growled in anger, turning toward her. “Acting like a cupid between them.”

“No! No! Absolutely not. I have told her a part of the truth already, and thankfully she is taking it in a good way. I… I’m not just ready to tell what happened between Nathan and her… that’s not a good memory of her life, you know!!” She replied in a low tone.

That was right.

That part of Ethlyn’s life was definitely not something that she should remember, but he wouldn’t let NATHAN come between them.

Calvin didn’t reply anything to her and dashed out of there. While he was angrily walking toward his office, he heard Roselet’s voice. He halted in between and turned around.

“Are you going to call Alpha Nathan here, daddy?”

“No.”

“But why? Mommy wants him by her side.” Roselet asked in confusion.

“Because I don’t want to.”

“But why? I don’t understand. I have already told you that I don’t want to stay with my real parents now. If she is happy with someone else, then let her be.” She spoke. Calvin bit his inner cheeks and stopped himself from not lashing at her. He wouldn’t let Ethlyn go, that was for sure.

‘And I will kill, kill, kill anyone who will try to become the third wheel between him and her.’ Keanu swore.
