The Heiress’ Return: Six Brothers at Her Beck and Call

Chapter 1378

Chapter 1978 Like an Old Acquaintance

“You should know what to do.”

At that, Kenton quickly replied, “Everyone, rest assured that the supply will remain secure, I’ll make the Quinnella regret ever stepping foot in Hawford !”

However, those big shots weren’t easy to fool. “She’s not an easy target. Be careful and cut your losses in time.”

Kenton obediently replied, “Noted.”

By logic, someone of his stature, who commanded great influence in the business world, shouldn’t be so deferential to anyone. Yet, for some reason, he appeared to be at the bottom of the hierarchy in that group.

The big shots seemed to only care about the supplies and paid no heed to his plan. “The previous ones aren’t that great as they’re too old. Think of some way. to send a few more over. Don’t just focus on making money. You must learn to return the favor when necessary.”

At that point, Kenton seemed to have had a revelation. If Wynter could promote herself under the guise of supporting domestic goods, he could similarly” sponsor” students to gain himself a good reputation.

Indeed, there hadn’t been as many activities in the past month. With the bar getting investigated, he had to take immediate action. Otherwise, those big shots might actually drop him.

Any of the Wray family’s charitable activities could be halted, but not the Aid Society. After losing Alden, the person in charge of Oakwood District, he ought to do something to appeal to that person.

When he thought of that, he lost his, previous composure. He had initially planned to wait until the Chamber of Commerce elected a president before proceeding with the Aid Society.

But thanks to the incident at the bar, the Wray family had lost their footing. He couldn’t afford to drag this out! He didn’t want to become a pawn, yet he had no choice but to rely on those big shots‘ backing.

Indeed, the Aid Society was Kenton’s biggest support. As the name suggested,

the organization provided charitable donations–supporting disaster relief, building schools, and other funding activities.

Little did people know that tax evasion and fraud could be conducted simultaneously.

Naturally, charitable organizations served as a great cover. By doing good deeds, one could attract praise and divert the public’s attention away from their background or activities.

It was precisely through that that Kenton led his family to their position in Hawford now. Of course, he mainly attributed his success to that person.

What he didn’t know was that his cover wouldn’t last long. That was because Wynter had been making comprehensive preparations to move things forward.

Many had been focusing on the Blaise family incident since the news came out. More importantly, Cleo was one of them.

“This young lady is indeed interesting.” At a mansion, a white–haired elder broke into a smile. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org: ©.

Beside him was his butler, who seemed to be his age. His face beamed with delight. “Isn’t that right? I even heard they let her into the old Quinnell residence.”

“Did they?” Cleo halted and turned around to look at him.

Alaric Pryce, the butler, nodded. “Indeed, and she stayed for some time. Mr. Sinclair, should I remind her to be cautious about the people around her? After all, she’s still young, and you never know what’s on people’s minds.”

“What’s there to remind her about? If she can’t handle that, she won’t get a chance in the Chamber of Commerce.” Cleo sipped his tea and calmly asked, ” Have you contacted Mr. Yarwood?”

“No. Do you truly believe he’s that man, Mr. Sinclair? Perhaps they just look alike.”
