The Good Girl's Revenge

Chapter 564

Chapter 564

The call was to Evelyn.

The last time they met, they left contact information with each other.

Seeing Parker's call, Evelyn picked it up immediately.

"When are you coming to J City? Now, Derek may be sad and need some comfort."

Parker didn't have any emotions in his eyes, and his tone was calm.

He did not like Evelyn, but he could still use her to achieve his goal.

"What? What happened to him?"

Evelyn frowned. When did Derek return to J City? She had no idea at all.

Did something happen to Derek, and that was why Parker said he needed comfort?

"Nothing. Maybe he just had a breakup."

Parker said indifferently. He didn't care what happened to Derek.

Evelyn perked up. "I'll be right there."

A person who had fallen out of love was the most vulnerable. If she could seize this opportunity, Derek

would probably look at her in a new light. Moreover, she had always wanted to visit Derek's mother in J

City.

"I'll go today." Evelyn got someone to buy her the earliest ticket.

After getting the answer he wanted, Parker reminded her, "Don't forget about the bone marrow. We

can't wait any longer. Be cooperative if you don't want more trouble."

Evelyn didn't like to be threatened, but after thinking about it, it wouldn't do her any good to antagonize

Parker. This man was worth using.

"Okay, I got it."

So she called Ellie. "Where are you now? I'm going to J City. Go with me."

Ellie was in the middle of a meeting. She left the meeting to answer Evelyn's call, looking troubled. "I

have something to do at work right now... Or else..."

Before she could finish, Evelyn was displeased and said sarcastically, "Do you think you're superior

now? How dare you refuse me when I ask you to go out with me?"

This matter was about Derek, and Evelyn would not allow anything to go wrong, especially with Ellie.

Ellie was just an adopted orphan. How dared Ellie disobey her?

Hearing what Evelyn said, Ellie replied with resignation, "Okay, I'll get ready right away."

"Go to the airport when you're ready. Hurry up. I don't have time to wait for you."

After that, Evelyn hung up.

Ellie held her cell phone and was agitated. She was tired of being called around by Evelyn, but she

could not get away with it.

She had to compromise again and again because the Smith family had raised her.

She was exhausted. Ellie wondered where her biological parents were now. If they knew that she had

grown up, would they want to find her?

But if they wanted to, they wouldn't have abandoned her, right?

With a sigh, Ellie went in to talk to tell her colleagues before packing her simple luggage and going to

the airport.

...

After Derek left the hospital, he didn't know where to go. He didn't want to go back home. He was in a

bad mood and didn't want to argue with Violet. This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.

So, he called Jameson and went to the bar for a drink.

Derek had ordered a lot of drinks when Jameson arrived, and Jameson was nervous to see them on

the table.

What was wrong with this guy again?

Jameson could easily guess that it was a relationship issue. After all, the Xavier Group was growing

rapidly, and Derek wouldn't get drunk because of that.

"What's wrong? Why do you go for drinks again? It reminded me of some bad memories from the

past..."

Jameson remembered that every time Derek had a relationship problem, Derek would come out to

drink with him and Asher. Now Asher went abroad, and only he could be there with Derek.

Jameson still had the memory of almost being hospitalized when he was drunk.

"You have a good memory. Let's consolidate it now."

Derek pretended not to hear Jameson's complaint.

Although Derek was not a drinker, there were times when alcohol was the only thing that could make

him let go of dignity and say something without fear.

"Did you and Meredith quarrel again?"

Jameson knew that Meredith had returned, and he was happy for Derek when he knew about it.

After all, Jameson knew best how his best friend had gone through those five years.

But now that she was back, and they had a child. Couldn't they live a good life?

"She's going to marry another man."

Derek felt a little drunk. He looked at his good friend and said something that almost scared Jameson

to death.

What was going on?

Jameson pinched himself to make sure he wasn't dreaming, then looked at the calendar, and it wasn't

April Fool's Day. Wasn't it a joke?

"Impossible."

Jameson remembered that Meredith used to like Derek very much. Why would she marry another

man?

"She told me herself. She said that everything in our family made her tired. She didn't want to be so

tired, so she had to be with another man. Parker, you remember him, don't you?"

Derek held the glass and looked at the liquid inside. The light reflected on his face and made it

enchanting.

Parker was famous in J City, and Jameson knew about him. Jameson didn't expect that after so many

years, Parker was still chasing Meredith.

Jameson sighed. "Derek, I don't think it's that simple. Besides, you have a child. I don't believe she can

leave her own child behind. Keep Easton with you, and she can't leave with Parker without Easton."

Derek chuckled. Indeed, this was a solution, but it might only deepen the gap between them. Meredith

never liked being threatened.

Moreover, Derek was afraid. If he pushed her too far, and she decided to leave him and Easton, what

should he do by then?

Seeing that Derek did not answer, Jameson sighed and sat aside, drinking with him. At worst, he would

get drunk together with Derek since they were friends from childhood.

However, just after a glass of wine, Jameson's cell phone rang.

It was his wife.

"Yang, where are you now? Why aren't you going home?"

Hearing this, Jameson's expression softened a little, but he still cleared his throat. "I'm with Derek. I

don't think I can go back tonight. Don't wait up. Go to bed."

"You're not drinking again, are you? Is your stomach getting better? Why don't you take your body

seriously?"

Jameson looked a little embarrassed, but Derek was lost in his thoughts.

Sometimes, it seemed happy to be henpecked.
