The Good Girl's Revenge

Chapter 35

Chapter 35

The call was from Ava.

Meredith didn't want Ava to ruin her mood. So she hung up directly.

However, Ava did not give up and called again.

Was she that free?

Meredith thought, "Ava is a popular female star now. And her huge posters and TV commercials are

everywhere in J City. Why does Ava still have time to keep an eye on her?"

"What's the matter?"

Annoyed, Meredith picked up the phone in an impatient tone. © NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.

"Can't I just say hello to my sister?" Ava fiddled with her freshly manicure, her eyes brimming with

pride.

This morning, an informant she arranged in Meredith's company called to say that Meredith had

resigned. Meredith must have been overwhelmed by the rumors.

Ava didn't want to miss such a great chance to hit Meredith hard.

"I heard that you left the company. I remember that you've only been working in this company for a

month. You are really incompetent to get out of here that soon."

Meredith frowned even more when she heard her words.

Ava was really bored, but would Ava be angry if she knew that Meredith was working on the top floor of

the Xavier Group?

Thinking about it, Meredith purposely replied in an exaggeratively surprising tone, "Ava, I'm afraid your

informant is a little bit stupid. I did quit, but I'm working in the Xavier Group now. It is not called being

fired but job-hopping, understand?"

Ava's calm expression twisted when she heard Meredith's words.

Xavier Group?

It was the Xavier Group where all graduates from those prestigious universities desperately wanted to

work?

How was it possible to hire someone like Meredith who only graduated from senior high school?

"Well, sister, are you out of your mind, or crazy? Why would the Xavier Group hire someone like you?

Even if you want to brag, you have to be reliable, right?"

"Believe it or not." Meredith didn't want to explain more to her. "I still have work to do. I don't have time

to talk nonsense with you."

After that, Meredith hung up.

Ava looked incredulous on the other end of the phone. Her reason told her that Meredith must be lying

to make her fret.

But she just couldn't control her mind, especially when she thought about that Derek's appeared at the

to help Meredith out...

Could it be that Derek had arranged for her to work in the Xavier Group and stay by his side?

Ava's impression of Derek still lingered on the unusual cold-blooded CEO, but she did not expect that

kind of man to have relationship with Meredith...

"Contact the Xavier Group and tell them I want to talk about cooperation."

...

Meredith hung up the phone, and for the first time, she had the feeling of pride and joy in front of Ava.

Although this confidence was somewhat false, it made her feel much better.

So she was less resistant to this job. At least, it could upset Ava's and make her uncomfortable.

At the thought of this, Meredith felt a surge of energy, fetched a bucket of clean water, and wiped the

glass in front of her carefully.

While she was doing this, Meredith suddenly remembered that she misunderstood Derek last time for

spreading rumors in the company, she had not made it clear and said sorry.

Looking at the empty CEO's office, Meredith hesitated. Would she apologize to him?

Thinking about that man's bad attitude towards her recently, Meredith retreated a little, but she knew

what it was like to be misinterpreted, so after wiping the glass, she sat down and wrote a piece of note.

If there was a chance, Derek would see it, and then she would be at ease. As for whether the man

would accept her apology or not, it was his choice.

...

For the next few days, Meredith had been doing all sorts of things outside his office.

Derek was very defensive and didn't seem to want to see her at work, so Meredith never had the

chance to hand over the note.

Just as Meredith was cleaning up, Damian came over and said, "Mr. Xavier wants some coffee. I have

something urgent to do right now. Go and make him a cup."

Damian left in a hurry after saying that.

Meredith looked at his back and couldn't have the chance to stop him.

To make coffee for Derek? Meredith was anxious, but she had to make coffee and send to him when

she was told to do.

Derek's coffee was naturally different from the average employee's, and was freshly handmade.

Meredith had seen Damian make it a few times. At that time, she thought that Derek's life style was

really extravagant, but she didn't expect it to come in handy now.

When Meredith carefully walked into Derek's office, the man was looking down at the documents in his

hand. The afternoon sunshine bathed him, adding a few warmness and gentleness, softening the cold

lines of his face.

Meredith looked at him, lost in her thought, and her action accidentally got a little harder, which caused

the cabinet a piercing noise.

The man who was immersed in his work frowned and looked up at her. "Why did you come in? Get

out."

Meredith rolled her eyes in her heart. She didn't want to come in either, but she had no other choice for

she was told to do so.

"Damian said he has something urgent to deal with. Let me make you some coffee."

Meredith's answer was neither servile nor overbearing.

Derek rubbed his forehead and looked at her calm expression. This woman had been a good employ

since she came here, making him unable to have something on her. Today, he finally had the chance?

"To be clear, my taste is very picky. If you can't do it well, I won't be nice to you."

Derek left his words coldly and lowered his head. "Remember, don't make this terrible noise again."

Meredith nodded and went out with coffee beans.

Derek thought she would talk back or say something, but he was surprised that she just left so

obediently.

Meredith walked lightly out to another room equipped with a coffee machine. She had learned some

coffee grinding techniques with Damian when she was bored, so it wasn't difficult for her to make

coffee.

After a while, a cup of fragrant coffee was ready.

Meredith thought for a moment, and then placed the note she had written down under the tray and

walked in with it.

Then, she carefully entered Derek's office.

She didn't know if Derek was doing it on purpose or if he devoted himself to his work. She walked in,

and the man didn't look up at her, completely ignoring her and still looking at his document.

Meredith didn't dare to put the coffee down anywhere. Derek's desk was a restricted area. He would be

angry if she messed up something or made any noise.

So she could only stand and wait.

After waiting for more than ten minutes, Meredith's hands were already sore. Derek finished reading

the document in his hand. He looked up at her and said, "It turned cold. Go and change another one."

The man spoke lightly, not noticing anything wrong with his words.
