Chapter 401
"Consider? What else is there to consider?" asked BeefyBite's husband, suddenly exploding with anger. "It's precisely because you're such a cruel person that you invited malicious spirits into our home! Did you not see how pitiful that mother and child were? "Any kind person would've agreed to sell the house to that woman, so why aren't your parents willing to? You're their only daughter, so all these assets will be yours in the end anyway! You're simply claiming them in advance. Have you never considered that this might be a form of retribution?" BeefyBite looked at her suddenly angry husband, feeling incredibly startled.
"Honey, I really feel bad for you, and I'm worried about you," continued her husband. "The house isn't important to me at all. You're the one who matters to me-you and your safety. You don't know how anxious I felt when I heard you speaking about all this just now." Just as he was in the middle of talking, the doorbell rang.
"Who is it, this late at night?"
BeefyBite stood up as she replied, "It should be my parents. I called to inform them of the situation. It's just as well, as we can take the opportunity to discuss the matter of the house with them."
When she opened the door, her parents looked her up and down.
"Are you alright? Are you hurt anywhere?" they asked worriedly.
There were two to three more young people at the door-BeefyBite's friends. They all gathered around her anxiously.
"What happened? How did you end up attracting malicious spirits?"
BeefyBite's husband poured everyone some water, his expression ugly.
"Why didn't you tell me that you invited your parents over?" he asked sourly. "And these friends of yours too."
BeefyBite clutched her husband's hand, replying, "It's Ms. Locke who told me to inform them."
She turned to look at her phone camera and asked, "Ms. Locke, why did you ask me to call my parents and friends over?"
Everyone gathered around her phone, with the exception of BeefyBite's husband, who stood at the back of the group. He had a sour expression on his face.
Madison stated, "Your husband bears a sinful debt."
BeefyBite looked at her husband, repeating, "A sinful debt?"
"What do you mean, sinful debt?
Stop spouting nonsense!"
BeefyBite's husband retorted
immediately, pointing an accusing finger at Madison. "If you continue to speak nonsense, I'm going to sue you for defamation. You mark my words!"
Madison simply looked at BeefyBite and asked, "Your house comes with a small attic, doesn't it?"
Beefy Bite nodded. "Yes! Our family purchased the top floor unit of the building, so the developers gave us the small attic on the top floor. But the small attic isn't renovated, and we've always been using it tostore assorted things."
Ever since moving in, she had almost never gone into the attic and would instead get her husband to retrieve anything they needed from there.
"What's wrong with the attic, Ms. Locke?" she asked.
"You'll know once you take a look," Madison replied.
The expression of BeefyBite's husband instantly turned ugly, and he stepped forward to stop them.
"The attic hasn't been renovated and is a real mess," he said. "There's nothing worth seeing in there."novelbin

The more he spoke, the stranger the situation seemed to BeefyBite. Now that she thought about it, she had previously attempted to retrieve things from the attic as well, only to be stopped by her husband every
time.
She looked inquiringly at her husband, a little disbelieving. Subconsciously, she edged closer to her parents and friends. At that moment, she felt as if her husband was a stranger to her. Fortunately, Madison had told her to call her parents and friends over, or she really wouldn't have known how to face her husband.
