Chapter 75: Not Thinking about Getting Married
Ethan frowned, but Elvis walked past him and into the ward.
“Kristen, how are you?”
Kristen looked at Elvis in front of her and was stunned. She was still in a daze until he walked up to her.
“You… Why are you here?”
Elvis, on the other hand, looked at Xenos. “How is it? Can this prove my relationship with her now?”
“Elvis, what are you talking about?” Kristen said angrily. Elvis looked at her and seemed to know that she was uneasy. He quickly said, “We are friends. Is it a secret that can’t be told?”
Kristen heaved a sigh of relief.
He then explained to Ethan, “He is my friend.”
Ethan, on the other hand, was suspicious. He had already investigated Kristen thoroughly and had never found anything related to this man.
Ethan nodded, indicating that he understood.
Xenos quickly explained, “He was the one who sent Kristen to the hospital.”
Kristen was surprised. “Why are you…”
“I happened to pass by and saw that your car had an accident.”
This explanation made sense.
“Now that you’re fine, I’m relieved,” said Elvis as he looked at Ethan.
“Since that’s the case, I’ll be leaving first.”
Kristen had no choice but to say, “Take care then. Goodbye.”
Xenos hurried to follow him. “I’ll see him off.”
After they left, only Ethan and Kristen were left. Ethan said casually, “Why haven’t you mentioned this friend before?”
Kristen blinked and said, “We’re just ordinary friends. We haven’t seen each other for many years.”
Ethan nodded and did not ask any more questions. After Kristen rested, he asked Jacob to check Elvis ‘s identity.
Kristen asked for leave from the production team and stayed in the hospital to recuperate. Ethan accompanied her for the next few days, until Kristen felt that she was fine and wanted to be discharged.
In the end, she was directly rejected by Ethan.
“No, you haven’t recovered yet. Stay for another two days and wait until you are fully recovered.”
Kristen tugged on his arm pitifully.
“But I can’t let the production crew wait for me. It’ll take up too much time.”
Ethan couldn’t think of any other way. He reached out a hand to rub her head and said, “Director William has already discussed this. We’ll first shoot other scenes. It won’t take too long. How about this, we’ll stay for another day and see what Xenos has to say.”
Kristen nodded. “Okay, it’s settled then.”
As soon as she finished speaking, someone knocked on the door of the ward. Then Jacob came in and said, “President Holt, there is an urgent matter in the company that you need to deal with.”
Ethan stood up and said, “I’ll go about my business first, rest well.”
After Ethan left, Kristen couldn’t help stretching. Then the door of the ward opened again, and Kristen thought that Ethan had come back. “Why are you back so soon?”
As soon as she finished speaking, Kristen saw Elvis leaning over and looking at her.
“Elvis, why are you here?”
Elvis didn’t say anything, but just stared at her. His eyes seemed to pierce her. Kristen felt uncomfortable under his gaze.
“If you have something to say, just say it. Don’t look at me like that.”
Elvis raised his eyebrows slightly and asked in a curious tone.
“Kristen, to be honest, is it because of him that you rejected me?”
Kristen was stunned for a moment, but she did not deny it. Instead, she nodded.
After getting this answer, Elvis clearly felt a little depressed. He looked at Kristen and then said, “He is not suitable for you.”
It was just five simple words, but his tone was very normal.
But Kristen said, “That doesn’t matter. Only I know if it’s appropriate or not.” What others said was not a big deal.
Elvis looked at her very seriously and said, “I won’t let you go unless one day he can officially marry you.”
After saying that, Elvis turned around and left.

“Ethan will marry me?” Kristen shook her head. They didn’t go there for this from the very beginning.
Kristen told herself not to think about those unrealistic things, but at night, she still had a related dream.
In the dream, she was wearing a wedding dress, holding Mr. Old Oliver’s hand, and walking toward Ethan, who was at the end of the red carpet, with the blessings of her relatives and friends. A smile was on Kristen’s face. However, when she walked to the end of the red carpet, she did not see Ethan. She looked around and found that there were two grooms on the wedding. Both Elvis and Ethan were looking at her.
Ethan said, “Kristen, marry me.”
Elvis said, “We are made for each other.”
The voices of the two kept ringing in Kristen’s ears. Kristen only felt that her brain was in pain. In the end, she suddenly got up and sat up from the bed.
Kristen came to her senses and heaved a sigh of relief.
It turned out that she had been dreaming just now, but her back was already soaked with sweat. Kristen wiped the sweat from her forehead.
Then Ethan put his arm around her waist and asked, “Are you okay? Did you have a nightmare?”
Kristen nodded and lay back down. Ethan was lying by her side, allowing her to rest on his arm. Kristen could clearly hear his heartbeat.
After turning off the light, Kristen, who was in the dark, lost all sleepiness.
“What are you thinking about?” Ethan’s voice sounded next to her ear. Kristen leaned against his chest and asked.
“Ethan, have you ever thought about what kind of person you will marry in the future?”
After Kristen had asked the question, she heard the man’s startled voice.
“I don’t intend to get married.”
These few simple words were like a bucket of cold water poured over Kristen, instantly waking her up. How could she have forgotten that they were just contracted? When the contract ended, the relationship would also end, but she had a dream that she shouldn’t have.
“Oh, I was just asking casually. I didn’t mean anything else.” Kristen explained, then turned her back to him.
“It’s getting late. Go to bed early.”
After saying this, Kristen closed her eyes. No one knew what she was thinking. A pair of sharp eyes stared at her figure, unable to recover for a long time.
