Chapter 2360
Chapter 2360
Jace's sharp gaze immediately locked onto Lucas. His expression hardened as he noticed the nearly naked girl sprawled across the older man's lap.
The girl forced a brittle smile, though her body trembled as Lucas's coarse hands mercilessly groped her soft curves. The dimly lit room reeked of debauchery, filth, and depravity.
Around the girl's neck hung a collar identical to those worn by the girls in the glass cages. Inscribed on it was a series of shocking numbers-a price tag for her existence.
Despite having witnessed countless atrocities while serving Grant, Jace felt a suffocating heaviness settle in his chest as he stepped into this place. The sight of these innocent girls being humiliated and degraded twisted his heart with an inexplicable pain.
Unable to bear the sight any longer, Jace turned away, his fists unconsciously clenching until his knuckles whitened.
The thick velvet curtain fell, sealing the sordid scene from view.
Moments later, a towering bodyguard emerged, as he politely but firmly asked them to leave.
Jace spun on his heel and departed without hesitation, but Clarice lingered, glancing back repeatedly.
Since being employed by Grant, she has always been present during his dealings with others, no matter how sensitive or dangerous.
Whether it was Justin or Christopher, Grant had never asked her to step aside.
This time, however, was different. Her curiosity surged, tinged with an undertone of uneasiness.
Inside the private box, the air was thick with smoke, the faint glow of lamps casting sinister shadows across Lucas's face. His narrowed eyes glearned with malice, their expression as predatory as the twisted grin curling his lips.
"Uncle, it's been a long time. How have you been?" Grant's lips curled into a polite smile, though the stiffness in his expression betrayed his unease.
"Good, very good! With such a filial nephew taking care of me and these young, beautiful girls nourishing me, how could I not be?" Lucas' laugh was laced with cruelty. He tightened his grip on the girl, causing her to wince in pain.
"your happiness is all that matters." The smoke irritated Grant, and he masked his disdain with a delicate handkerchief drawn from his coat pocket. Covering his mouth and nose, he coughed lightly, then said, "Uncle, you summoned me all the way from Savrow. Surely there's an important matter to discuss. Perhaps we should talk alone."Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
"Haha, my dear nephew speaks sense!" Lucas' laughter abruptly ceased as he pressed his still-burning cigar against the girl's flawless skin.
The girl's body jerked violently, her eyes squeezed shut as she stifled a scream. A red, blistering scar marred her once-pristine flesh, branding her with pain and humiliation.
"Get out," Lucas barked, his tone ice-cold.
The girl scrambled to her feet, tears streaming down her face. Clutching her arms around her body, she staggered out of the room.
With her gone, Lucas's demeanor shifted. The ruthless predator gave way to a shrewd businessman, though his arrogance remained. He regarded Grant not as a relative but as a subordinate.
"Grant, the reason I called you here is simple. You've been back in Savrow for some time now. How are things progressing with the Salvador Corporation? I want an update."
A servant approached with tea, setting it down in front of Grant. He picked up the cup, sniffing the aroma without taking a sip.
"Plans are still underway," Grant said evenly.
"Plans? So, in other words, you've achieved nothing."
Lucas' sneer deepened as he leaned back in his chair. "Grant, you've done well for yourself abroad. Your businesses in Sentania and Meridan are thriving. But the moment you returned to Savrow, you've been spinning your wheels. What's the problem? Have you grown incompetent, or are you afraid of that brat?"
The "brat" was none other than Justin.
Grant's jaw tightened.
He opened his mouth to reply, but Lucas cut him off with a derisive laugh. "Tsk. No need to explain. I understand. That little bastard has had years to cement his control over the Salvador Corporation. On top of that, he married into the Thompson family and gained the support of KS Group. With resources like that, it's no wonder he has the upper hand. I figured you'd struggle against him."
Grant replied, his voice cool. "Thank you for your concern. However, the obstacles you mentioned have already been dealt with."
His words were calm, but the steel beneath them was unmistakable. Setting down his teacup with deliberate care, he allowed himself a faint smile.
"My younger brother has already broken off with Ms. Thompson. Their ties have been severed completely, and not amicably at that."
Lucas' brow arched in surprise. "Oh?"
