Suzy walked over and whispered, "Simon is here too. Are you sure you want to go through with this? It's Simon we're talking about. If he decides to pursue this, it could get messy!"

Winter scoffed. "What are you afraid of? I've done my homework. Simon's not that high up in the York family's hierarchy; he has an older brother overshadowing him. He can't cause too much trouble. Besides, isn't this what he enjoys? I'm actually doing him a favor."

Winter smiled, taking Suzy's hand. "You don't need to do anything, just keep an eye on Simon."

"Mr. York, you're here!" Winter then hurried over to greet Simon as he approached. The other guests made way for him as he walked by.

While some of Winter's old classmates might not know Simon, the young socialites certainly did. Simon was infamous in their circles for his wild lifestyle.

Simon approached Winter with his alluring eyes. His gaze was almost more seductive than that of any woman. He smirked while narrowing his eyes. "Ms. Shaw, it's been a while."

He took a glass of wine from a nearby waiter, his slender fingers tracing the rim of the glass. He raised it slightly, saying, "Happy birthday to you, Ms. Shaw."

With that, he lifted Winter's hand and kissed the back of it. Leaning closer to her ear, he murmured with a soft chuckle, "You look stunning today." Winter felt a shiver run down her spine. She stared into Simon's mesmerizing eyes, momentarily entranced.

Simon's smirk deepened. He was clearly unbothered. "A rare beauty like you deserves nothing less."

Winter clenched her teeth, fighting the urge to slap the smirk off Simon's face. However, she restrained herself as she knew her status and the importance of tonight's event.

After all, Simon was her guest; she could not afford to make a scene.

She clenched her hands behind her back, trying to steady herself. She forced another smile. "The party hasn't officially started yet, Mr. York. Please make yourself comfortable while I attend to the other guests."

Simon narrowed his eyes. There was a hint of amusement playing in them as he watched Winter's discomfort. It was as if he could see right through her.

Feeling increasingly uneasy under his gaze, Winter quickly excused herself and hurried away.

Simon's eyes followed her retreating figure with a sharp, dangerous glint flickering in his gaze.
