Chapter 34: You Are the One Suffering Here
Hayden stood on the elevator and chuckled upon hearing that, "I'm too busy to even think about those
kinds of things, unlike you who only think about inheriting the wealth of the family and hooking up with
rich guys."
Chelsea was so furious that her nails were almost penetrating into her the skin of her palms.
Six years ago, she had staged an incident with the sole purpose of shattering Hayden's reputation and
ignited her father's hatred for Hayden. She did all that to make sure Hayden wouldn't have a chance to
compete with her over their inheritance rights. However, what escaped her calculation was that Hayden
would run away one night six years ago, and she would never see her again until today."
During the six years Hayden was absent, Chelsea was indeed living out a good life. However, she was
back at the moment. What were her reasons for coming back?
…
After getting off work in the evening, while Hayden was cooking dinner for Stella in the kitchen, her
mobile phone suddenly rang. She wiped her hands on her apron before producing her phone. When
she saw that it was from her father, her expression gradually darkened.
"Dad."
"I heard that you're back."
Her father's voice sounded at the other end of the phone. It had been a long time since she heard this
voice, and at the moment it sounded a little tired.
"Yes." She answered simply while her fingers were tracing various shapes on the cutting board.
She didn't have to wrack her brain to know that Chelsea was the one informing her father of her return.
No matter what her father head heard, it wouldn't be anything good.
"If you're back, then you should move back home. What do you think people would think of you if you're
out there fooling around all day long?"
Hayden frowned when she heard that, "There's no need for that, dad. I am fine living by myself out
here."
"Hayden, I know that you always have something to say because of your mother, but home is still home
in the end. I can't be rest assured with you being out there all by yourself, so you should…"
"Dad." Hayden interrupted her father, "I am really having a great life out here. I… I have a job now, and
I am staying not far from the company. I have to hang up now as I'm busy with something. I will visit
you when I'm free."
Her father didn't say anything more when he heard that. He gave her a few words of advice before
hanging up. Hayden was also hard-headed since she was young. She didn't know how to be bratty in
front of adults, coupled with the fact that she had lost her mother since her birth, this made her feel a
little unlucky in the other adults' eyes. They all thought that she only knew how to keep to herself.
After hanging up the phone, she stood motionless in the kitchen for a long time.
"Mum." A tender voice came from the door, which broke Hayden's reverie.
When she saw her daughter, she flashed a warm smile, "What's wrong? Are you feeling hungry? The
food is almost ready."
Stella walked over and pointed at her phone, "Was that grandpa?"
"Yes." Hayden nodded while squatting down to caress Stella's head. She then asked after some pause,
"Stella, do you want to see grandpa?"
Stella blinked obediently, "What about you, mummy? If you want to go back, I will follow you. I will be
with you wherever you are. I will always be your darling no matter where we go."
Hayden felt a warm current coursing through her when she heard that. She pulled her daughter into her
embrace and replied, "You are correct. You are always my darling no matter where you are."
Back then, she had brought along her child when she went overseas in order to avoid that man who
had bought over her other child and also avoid explaining to her family. If she were to return home with
a child in tow, a huge conflict would probably arise. So, she decided to run away in the end.
Five years had passed by in the blink of an eye, and she couldn't hide Stella from her family forever.
Furthermore, even if she tried her best to avoid any troubles, it seemed that she couldn't escape those
who wanted to instigate drama on her. Nanking was not a very big place, and who knew Chelsea would
one day learn of this fact? She had to prepare for any situation now.
In the middle of the night...
"Joseph, you have been drinking way too much today. Let me send you back."
At the entrance of a hotel, Viola was holding Joseph with a concerned look on her face. At the same
time, she was glancing inconspicuously at a hidden van parked not far away.
High-resolution cameras were capturing every moment of her helping Joseph while emerging from the
hotel, and her hand which was holding Joseph was clasped even tighter, and she was even leaning her
upper body entirely on Joseph's arms, with her breasts wrapped by her evening gown squeezed tightly
on his arm.
Joseph was a little tipsy at the moment, but after a moment of hesitation, he finally came back to his
senses. With a frown, he retrieved his hand from her clasp and replied, "No need for that. I can head
back on my own."
"Joseph."
Viola immediately carried her gown and chased after him, "It's so late now, and I'm really worried about
you going back alone. Let me accompany you back, and then I'll go home on my own."
In the van not far away, sounds of camera shuttles could be heard fluttering repeatedly, and images of
Viola following Joseph into his car were captured.
The Imperial Villa Area in eastern district was where Joseph usually stayed.
The alcohol he had consumed today was slightly concentrated compared to the ones he consumed
normally, so he really felt the aftereffects as he couldn't even walk properly with his feet feeling wobbly.
Viola called for the maid to assist his movement into his bedroom.
"How much alcohol has he drunk today? Sorry to trouble you, Ms. Kidman."
The maid hastily expressed her thanks.
"You don't need to thank me. I would be family to Joseph in the near future anyway. If I don't take care
of him, who would assume that responsibility?" Viola sat down on the edge of the bed while tracing
Joseph's shoulder with her long fingers. She eyed the maid and said, "Your job is done here. I'll take
good care of him after this."
"Ah?" The maid was stunned slightly, "Ms. Kidman, aren't you going back home?"
"Don't you understand what I have just told you?" Viola's expression turned darker a notch, "In the near
future, this would be my home too. Where are you asking me to go back to at the moment?"
The maid finally understood her words as she shook her head guiltily, "That's not what I mean, Ms.
Kidman. Then, please take good care of the young master. If you need anything, just call me. I'll take
my leave now."
Viola snorted coldly with an arrogant expression on her face, as if she was already the lady of the
house.
After making sure that the maid had really left after shutting the door, in the faint glow illuminating the
insides of the room, the corner of her eyes slightly lifted as she slowly turned around and placed her
hands on Joseph's chest.
"Joseph…"
Joseph was really drunk at the moment as he impatiently tore off his tie and mumbled in a hoarse
voice, "Hot."
"You're feeling hot?" Viola bent her body downwards and whispered by his ears, "Let me take off your
shirt for you."
As she said that, her hands were already busy unbuttoning the buttons of his shirt.
After she was done with that, his sculpted chest came into view. Viola's gaze burned with desire as she
took off her shoes and rode on top of his waist. Her hands were slowly exploring his skin as they
moved down from his chest. This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.
The sound of door knob turning broke the hazy and ambiguous atmosphere in the room and with a
clicking sound, streams of light poured into the room. A black silhouette was standing amidst the light,
which had his shadow stretched far and wide.
It was Noah.
When Viola saw who the intruder was, she felt a sudden surge of anger welling up from within. She
warned in a low voice, "Who allow you to come in? Get out."
If this was the usual, Noah would definitely run away as far as he could the moment he laid eyes on
Viola. However, when he recalled what the maid had said, he could only stand there motionless with
his face becoming deathly pale and his teeth gritted.
Viola could only stop what she was doing and stormed over with an ugly expression. She dragged
Noah away from the room and after making sure there was no one around, she clasped his cheeks and
warned him, "Noah, I remember telling you that you shouldn't interfere with me. Or else, you are going
to suffer."
Noah felt very painful as he was getting strangled by her, so he began to struggle.
Viola was afraid that he would yelp for help, so she could only push him away and dished out her last
warning, "Be obedient."
The moment she said that, Noah lost his balance as his feet couldn't land on anything. Then, he
stumbled down the stairs without warning.
