Chapter 47
Chapter 47
Avery didn't think that she would become dizzy after finishing a glass of wine.
She shook her head and glanced beneath the tablecloth. There were eight table legs, and one thick table leg happened to be right in front of her.
Perhaps I fell as I accidentally tripped on this table leg.
That was the most embarrassing moment of her life. She had poured the contents of the wineglass onto Cayden's pants. There was an embarrassing wet spot in the middle of his crotch.
Cayden had been accusing her of seducing him previously. Now that such an embarrassing incident occurred, she kept her head hung low.
“What are you doing? Hurry, wipe it off for Mr. Moore!” Cecelia urged and handed her a box of tissue paper.
There was no time for Avery to think. She quickly grabbed a pile of tissue paper and pressed it onto Cayden's crotch.
At once, the tissue paper was soaked with the red wine.
Soon, Avery realized her fingers were touching something weird. It was inevitable that her fingers would brush across Cayden's manhood as she wiped his pants dry.
Through his pants, she sensed something terrifying coming awake.
In fact, it was growing larger to the naked eye.
Avery's cheeks flushed red.
Three of their business partners, consisting of both male and female, were in the private room. Knowing her action would only serve to embarrass Cayden, Avery bit her lip guiltily. The more anxious she got, the more mistakes she made. Her hands started trembling.
She had used up half a box of tissue paper, but Cayden's pants were already stained.
He's a clean freak. There's no way he'll stay and have dinner wearing a pair of pants stained with red wine.
Avery was feeling both guilty and helpless when he grabbed her wrist.
She lifted her head to meet his gaze.
Looming above her, he glanced at her guilt-stricken expression and enunciated, “Let's go!”
Everyone else seemed surprised at his action.
It was clear to the business partners that her relationship with Cayden wasn't as simple as it seemed.
Both Xavier and Cecelia were surprised to see how Cayden showed his possessiveness toward her in public.
He was practically announcing to everyone that Avery was his woman. Cecelia couldn't help but feel lucky that she was on good terms with Avery.
Cayden dragged Avery all the way into the elevator.
The doors slid shut, and the elevator rose slowly. As it didn't stop for some time, Avery deduced their destination was a high-level floor.
She grew dizzier as the elevator ascended.
Finally, she knew she had overestimated her alcohol tolerance.
When the doors slid open, Cayden dragged her out and went to a suite. He pulled out a keycard and swiped it on the door. Pushing the door open, he gripped her wrist and brought her in.
Once they were inside, Cayden pinned her against the wall.
The light was dim, so both their expressions looked blurry. Cayden's handsome face seemed refined right at that moment.
His mouth covered hers in a dizzying kiss.
Avery feebly struggled to free herself but to no avail. Cayden ended up imprisoning her in his arms.
“Mm...” Her voice was muffled, for he kissed her so hard that she couldn't utter a word.
Her protesting moans carried a hint of sweet red wine. Cayden couldn't bring himself to release her and swallowed all her protests by deepening the kiss.
“Ah! No...” Her hair was all tousled. Cayden then reached out and caressed her all over.
In the end, he gave her top an impatient tug.
Three of her buttons were tugged off and fell to the carpeted floor without a noise.
Avery started punching his chest as tears escaped her eyes.
Cayden stopped kissing her and pinched her chin. “Why are you crying? Don't you like my touch? Why won't you admit that you like being caressed by me?” he asked in annoyance.
“If my clumsiness has angered you, I promise I'll stay away from you in the future.” She assumed he had treated her harshly as a form of punishment because her clumsy act earlier had angered him.
She had to admit that Cayden's lips were seductive and sweet. Any woman would be infatuated with a man like him.
Nevertheless, she knew such an infatuation wouldn't last long.
After all, she was afraid that Cayden would be like a short-lived mirage that might disappear tomorrow morning.
She had known Zayne for over four years, but he disappointed her. A man who looked like the perfect soulmate might not be her Mr. Right as she had expected. Cayden, who was noble and extraordinary,
was obviously not the right person for her and would never be her soulmate.
They were both from different worlds, for he was far more privileged than her. Exclusive © material by Nô(/v)elDrama.Org.
Many with experience would advise their children to marry into a family with similar backgrounds. Even if she ended up with him, she would just be a plaything to him.
She dared not hope to marry someone as influential as him.
The moment she harbored that hope, reality would give her a harsh slap in the face and prove her wrong.
Avery didn't want that. She was especially afraid of good dreams, for her heart would ache and be filled with loneliness after she woke up from a good dream. If it was a bad dream, she would wake up and feel fortunate that it was all a dream.
Cayden's wide palm pressed on her waist. He was on the verge of losing control as he pressed his heated cheek against hers. With his lips next to her ear, he uttered, “Remember when you were wiping the wine off my pants? Were you being clumsy? Or were you deliberately touching it?”
Of course she knew what he was referring to.
Avery felt that she was very drunk at the moment. The tall man before her was like a fire burning her sanity into ashes, making her unable to think straight.
“Let me go. I'm still on my period,” she pleaded and panted as she rested her head on his arm.
Her last shred of sanity reminded her to inform him that she was still on her period.
She was worried that she would lose her sanity and that he would ravage her right there.
Avery didn't want to catch any sexually transmitted infections and ruin her health.
“I feel really dizzy. Sorry, but I'd like to go home.”
If I had known I have such a low alcohol tolerance, I shouldn't have forced myself to finish an entire glass of red wine. I brought this upon myself.
Cayden lowered his head and tamped down his desire. Taking a deep breath, he caressed her hair adoringly and said, “Take a nap here.”
Scooping her up in his arms, he strode to the bed and placed her down.
Turning away, Cayden headed to the closet and took out a neatly pressed outfit.
Avery watched in a daze as he took off his shirt, pants, and underwear.
Cayden stood with his back facing her. Even so, his muscular body caused her eyes to go big.
In a slow manner, Cayden changed his clothes and returned to his usual elegant self. He didn't forget to come over to her and remove her heels. His palm held her feet as he did that.
She twitched as an uncomfortable sensation rose in her body. Curling her toes, she tried to free her feet from his hands.
