Chapter 2101
"What's the plan then?" Ethan was stumped.
He had always thought his strategy was rather clever, but if Alaric said it wouldn't work, it must really be flawed.
Alaric flashed a mischievous smile, a scheme twinkling in his striking, fox-like eyes.
Ethan hurried over, eager to hear his master plan.
In the afternoon.
Lydia had been swamped at the clinic all day, either diagnosing patients or engrossed in research. She hadn't had a moment's rest and was now feeling every ache in her back and stiffness in her neck.
She massaged her sore muscles as she made her way back to her apartment.
Suddenly, she heard the sounds of a fight coming from an alleyway, accompanied by cries of pain.
Years of trained alertness kicked in, and Lydia quickened her pace toward the source of the commotion. Ahead, several men were beating up a man who was in agonizing pain, his face twisted in anguish.
"Still thinking of stealing Noah's customers, huh?" A burly man with a menacing look was punching and kicking the man while angrily shouting.
"In business, it's all about fair play, and I've always been fair," Ethan managed to say, even as he was pinned against the wall. Despite the beating, he stood by his principles. He believed in the survival of the fittest in business and insisted that he had followed the rules and didn't deserve this just because his competition couldn't handle losing.
"Still got a smart mouth, I see. You're just asking for it!" Another lanky man snarled at Ethan as he joined in the assault.
Ethan raised his hands to protect his face, trying to shield himself from the worst of the blows.
As the punches and kicks rained down on him, Ethan let out pained groans, looking like he was about to pass out.
The moment Lydia saw it was Ethan getting beaten, she was inclined to walk away. But the brutality of the attack made her reconsider; if she didn't intervene, Ethan might not make it.
Driven by a sense of compassion, she couldn't just stand by and watch.
"Let him go!" Lydia stepped forward and shouted.Têxt belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.
The five men stopped and turned their menacing gaze toward Lydia.
Seeing she was just a woman, they weren't the least bit intimidated.
One of the burly men, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand, sneered, "Look who's here. You looking to meddle?"
"Ha, we're reasonable guys," another skinny man said, his eyes leeringzat Lydia as she approached. "Just strip off a piece of clothing, and we'll back off one by one until there's none of us left to beat him." noveldrama.org
Ethan looked up, urgently saying, "Dr. Lydia, just go! Don't worry about me!"
But Lydia ignored him. With a steely gaze, she stopped a meter away from them and clenched her fists, coolly saying, "If it's a strip-down you want, I'm game, but it's you who'll be
undressing after I'm done with you."
"Oh, feisty, aren't we?" chuckled the burly man, signaling his skinny comrade with a nod. "Go on, show her what's what!"
"Eager to!" The man called Skinny charged at Lydia, ready to teach her a lesson.
But before he could get close,
Lydia's foot flew up, connecting with
his chest and sending him

With an icy edge to her voice, she commanded, "Call me 'ma'am', and I might just let you off easy!"
