The Billionaire Contracted Wife

TWENTY SEVEN

Everything happened just as Cayne said it would. Cayne finally got dressed, wearing asleep black Armani suit, Gucci shoes and his favorite Gucci scarf.

There was a knock at the door and Cayne went to open it with me trailing behind him.

Lincoln stood there, his green eyes as cold as he stared at Cayne.

“Well, if it isn’t the great Cayne Shelton,” he said sarcastically, eyeing him with distaste.

Cayne ignored him and looked at me.

“I’ve got to go now, I’ll be late for my meeting,” he said, kissing me.

He grabbed his briefcase and look at Lincoln reluctantly.

“Take care of her. If you don’t, I’ll kill you.” And the weird thing is that Cayne was pretty damn serious of his tone.

He shove past Lincoln and seconds later, he was gone. And just like that, Lincoln’s attitude suddenly changed.

“Cayne said that if I’ll come inside your room, he’ll chop my head off, so I guess we’re going out.” I smiled and nodded. I went back inside to grab my coat and left with guy who was almost my assassin.

3rd Person POV

After her confrontation with Cayne, Anica took the next plane back home, and called someone and told the person from the other line that they should meet. ASAP.

When she arrived from the place that she will be meeting with someone, they wasted no time. She got straight to business.

“She has to go. Now!”

The person in front of her look at her and pressed it’s lips together.

“You and I are in the utter agreement,” she said seethingly. “Ethan called of our engagement just this morning. He said that he still love Raszhiel.”

Anica shook her head. That’s right. She’s talking to Ethan’s supposedly soon-to-be-wife, Clara, but then again got ruined by that bitch. She got someone investigate Raszhiel and found out that he had an ex-boyfriend. And the timing was sure in her because she got a news that his ex wanted to get back from Raszhiel. That’s when she contacted Clara.

What did all these attractive and eligible men see in this bitch? Lincoln, Ethan and now Cayne.

What the hell does she have that she hasn’t?

“I heard that Cayne had gotten her a new car and personal driver,” Anica said.

Clara looked at her, confused.

“Yeah, so?”

Anica smiled evily and wickedly. “So, we’ll tamper the brakes of the car.” Clara jaw dropped.

“Whoa, whoa,” she cried mouth agape. “I don’t wanna kill her, I mean that’s a crazy idea. I don’t wanna be a fucking criminal just because of that bitch.”

“Who said we’re gonna kill her?” Anica snapped, rolling her eyes. “Her driver I think is experience enough to protect. Knowing Cayne, he wouldn’t let some random guy to be that bitch bodyguard. Besides, the car is bulletproof.” She spat.

Clara frowned and nod, assessing.

“Okay, so you mean we’re just gonna scare her?”

Anica nodded. “Exactly, just get her roughed up a bit. And our message will be sent. I’m sure she’s not that dumb not to understand it.”

Clara grinned. “Let’s do it then.”

Raszhiel’s POV

“Cayne already told me about you and his… um.. situation.” I said. I let out a deep breath that I didn’t thought I was holding for a long time now.

He rose an eyebrow while simultaneously cocking his head to the side.

“Our situation?” He asked.

“Yeah, he told me why he hates you so much, and so do you towards him.”

“Ah, yeah,” he just simply nodded.

“He told me that you were once best friends, Nicholas, him and you.”

“We were.” A flash of trademark sadness in his face.

“But after Agatha died, you got angry to him for some reason.”

He flashed a look at me. Then he look back at the sea of many people. We were on the top of a tall building, staring at the people who were like ants beneath us.

I wasn’t pretty sure if this is legal, but I like the view so I wasn’t complaining.

“Did he also tell you why we became friends?” he asked, turning quickly to face me.

I shook my head when I realized he didn’t.

He snorted, “Figures,” he muttered. “He was always been the gentleman.”

And now my curiosity had gotten strong and all I want to do is to know hey they met. Cayne doesn’t even talk about his past.

“When we were young, were ten years old by that time when we got kidnapped. It was actually Cayne whom they wanted to kidnapped because he’s rich, and it was a kidnapped for ransom. I was just playing at the park that time when I saw what happened, and Nicholas was also there with Cayne. I got scared so I screamed and shouted in fear, two men came to me.”

He was so serious when he talks about his past at the same time a small curves in his lips appeared, like he was about to smile.

“The kidnappers asked for 3 million dollars. It seems like a lot of money for us, but for Shelton’s family? It’s no big deal. And that’s where we started to go out like friends, the three of us.” He smiled. His smile is genuine.

“Cayne said you hated him after he told you that Agatha and Gregorio were engaged,” I said softly.

Lincoln turned to look at me, his expression unfathomable.

“I have my reason.”

“There’s more to the story?”

“I hated Cayne because of what happened the day before Agatha died,” he said, his voice was too low that I could barely hear him. “I ask if Cayne if I could have someone protect her. They were born rich on the very start, so I know that Cayne had no say in anything. But his father disagree, because that time he said that time Gregorio was also threatening him about his wife.” He looks down at the New Yorkers walking, busy with their lives.

“But then she died. Cayne showed up in my door, saying that he found out that Agatha was engaged to Gregorio. I lost it on him. I thought he was disrespecting Agatha’s death.”

I felt sad for him. And then I showed up as a doppelganger of Agatha, I thought sullenly.

“I think you should set things with Cayne,” he glanced at me, then the people below us and back.

“Even if I wanted to, I don’t know how and where to begin,” he responded.

“I always find it easy to begin with explaining why you were angry,” I said helpfully, looking at him seriously.

He smiled. “Thanks, I’ll think about it.”

And that was enough for me. All I really wanted is to see them reunite again.

3rd Person POV

It was late that night when they finally arrived at Shelton’s manor. It was quite except for the soft clacking of Anica’s high heeled shoes and Clara’s labored, nervous breath.

In Anica’s hand were pliers. She walked towards the Audi, the car that Cayne had gotten for Raszhiel.

She opened the car door with something and started to cut off the brake. The brake was on her hand and the job was almost done, just one more touch.

She handed Clara the pliers and Clara a little fool took it. How easy she was to be manipulated.

After Anica was sure that Clara’s fingerprint were on the pliers, she took it. She had worn a gloves to protect herself.

“Do we have everything we need?” Clara asked.

Anica opened her mouth to say something, yes, she had everything she needed, when she heard a slight shuffling.

Her head snapped and she met the eyes of a two women. The woman Raszhiel had bought in Cayne’s office and a girl who also works at Rechie company. With research that she had gathered, she knew the two girls were Raszhiel’s friends, Shain and Tiff.

Shain’s eyes widen as he looked at the gloves that Anica is wearing and the pliers in her hand and the newly cut brake. She backed away, ready to leave. Tiff stiffened to what she had saw and is also ready to run away.

But no, Anica wouldn’t let that happened. She pulled out a sniper gun, it gleamed brightly, even in the limited light and she pulled the trigger.

Shain fell immediately and so do Tiff. Clara gasped in horror. She was shaking.

“What the hell did you do Anica?” Clara asked in complete horror.

“It’s because they’ll gonna ruin my plans. You see cutting out the brakes on Raszhiel’s car is not what I have planned for her.” Anica smiled evily. “I have something far more gruesome in mind.”

“This is not what we talked about. You said we will just gonna scare her.” She said in disbelief.

“Of course, and this is my warning to her.”

“You’re crazy,” she gasped, shaking her head.

“And you’re useless,” Anica responded and shoot Clara in the head.

Clara’s body jerk, her eyes widen as she fell into the ground limply. She placed the gun and the pliers in Clara’s hand, sitting the brakes nearby.

She looked into Clara’s lifeless eyes and wished they were Raszhiel’s.

Soon, she thought.

She stood up and exited quickly. Undoubtedly, one of the maids heard the noise in the garage and went on her way to check it. And screamed when she saw people lying on the garage, full of blood.

Raszhiel’s POV

Cayne was shaking me, trying to wake me up. I groaned and opened my eyes. When I looked at him, his eyes were different. Like it was sad and it has something of a feeling of a pity.

I sat up and tried to focus my eyes. I could see now clearly that Cayne is looking at me in a sad emotion.Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.

I suddenly felt scared and a little horror in my heart.

“What happened?” I gasped, my voice thick with sleep.

“Raszhiel,” he said my name soflty, looking like he was lost of words.

My heart beats race faster and faster as seconds and seconds passed by.

“Cayne, please, tell me. What happened?” I asked, my voice hard.

He took a deep breath and said, “One of the maids found two of your friends body on the garage, Shain and Tiff with someone else body. Tiff was in coma and Shain…” he just looked at me.

My mouth dropped in shock. Managing myself to focus by the sudden news. “What do you mean?”

“It is being said that the body that of the person that was found together with the two of them were Ethan’s ex-fiance.”

I couldn’t think of anything. Tiff is in coma, but Shain is dead. When I realized everything, I stated to cried out hard.

No, no. It can’t be. Please God. Tell me I’m dreaming.
