Thalia’s Pov
Another week went by, and then another up until my pregnancy was three months old and visible.
Brandon was there with me thanks to God’s mercy; he was vibrant, even though I could see that his
body was giving up on him, no matter how hard he tried to hide it.
But I didn’t let that detract from his joy.
He made sure I had my vitamins, reminded me of my doctor’s appointments, and made sure I ate a
healthy balanced diet.
He even enrolled himself in an online teaching class over the two months and day in day out he would
make me delicious meals high-class meals. He was every pregnant woman’s dream.
But deep inside I was expected to accept the fact that he would not wake up one day. He was simply
clinging on to the cords of life for the sake of survival.
When he became frustrated, he would say, “he was holding on for the baby,” he really wanted to see
the baby. There were days when he was entirely reliant on a wheelchair, and other days when he was
able to get around without the use of a stick or wheelchair.
Those were happier times, and he made it a point to be taking me out for ice cream or pizza regularly.
Even though we had a version of an Italian restaurant that served Italian pizza, he once made Nestor
fly us to Italy on one of his private jets.
Given his on-again, off-again bouts, it was a perilous journey, but he was stubborn. He was so
obstinate that no one could stop him once he set his mind to something.
He wanted me to try true Italian pizza rather than the imitations he claimed were exhibited in the cities.
I was afraid, but I knew it would just irritate him, so we left.
We had the time of our lives much to our surprise; I did my prenatal shopping there, as well as some
baby items that Brandon insisted we get.
Anyone who happened to see us would have assumed he was the father. He was all over the baby
stores, and all I had to do was stop him because we didn’t know what the baby’s gender was. We just
purchased items such as lotions, buckets, and baby tubs.
I gave him complete control over everything because he earned it. I had the baby for the rest of my life
to shop for while he was without time.
I could always imagine how rigid and obnoxious he would be to our daughter if he lived for a long time.
I desired a daughter, while he desired a son. He thought a girl would be as stupid as I was.
It was a little offensive, but given my history of incompetence, no one would want their daughter to be
around me. However, I had changed and grown into a confident strong woman in the months that I was
with him.
I would not raise my daughter to be like myself, she was going to be a strong woman. We planned to
conduct a sex test later, so at the very least he’d know the gender.
We ended up staying in Italy for two more days before returning to the United States. The USA, a
country of depressed people.
The country was dreary, and I was a little disappointed that the tour ended. I was the last to be
persuaded, but I didn’t want the trip to end.
Going back meant returning to the reality of avenging Josh and his skank. To be honest, I had lost
interest in what was left of them.
Yes, I wasn’t being unfair to Brandon, who was busy plotting his vengeance, but I needed to keep
negative energy away from my baby and pregnancy. All I knew was that Josh’s criminal case where he
was charged with my disappearance was dismissed.
My body was never recovered, and none of the lawyers could establish that he had made contact with
me or that he was ever on the same highway I was last spotted.
The good news was that it wasn’t a setback; all we wanted was to get his name in the mud and keep
his father from modifying any clauses about their company.
It worked, due to pressure and anger of wanting to be on top, the fool had previously fired all the old
lawyers assigned to make changes and his new lawyers had no idea of the old intentions. While victor
was so busy cleaning up to remember the mess.
The investigations were completed while his civil proceedings were still pending, and they were handed
a massive fine of millions of dollars for negligence. I couldn’t see how they could ever get back on their
feet.
Josh, according to sources, was merely a mirror of the man he used to be. He was frequently seen in
cheap clubs with whores, while Jessica remained cooped up in the family house. They were unable to
maintain their private residences due to financial constraints.
He was forced to sell most of his property, which was formerly mine, but Brandon, the genius, was the
one who repurchased them all in my name. The man had money to spend.
It was difficult for me not to fall completely in love with the jerk. Every time I tried to hide my emotions,
he did something that forced those feelings to regenerate. But the painful fact that he wouldn’t be there
indefinitely jolted me back to reality.
With all the good things he was doing for me, I felt compelled to do something for the man. It was only
fair, he was reinstalling my life and it was my turn to reinstall his. I had no idea why I never thought of it
earlier.
Maybe it was because I was not in the right mind or because I thought he wouldn’t be alive after a
month. I needed to help the great man that was delivering heaven to me. He needed to meet my baby.
I began by brainstorming the methods or ways to assist him; certainly, the top brain scientist had failed,
but that didn’t discourage me. My father used to say that just because some individuals failed, it didn’t
mean that they were all doomed to fail.
All the scientists said he only had a month to live but he was already on his third month. They definitely All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
got most of the things wrong. Something had escaped their notice. I spoke with Nestor, who granted
me access to all of Brandon’s medical information.
Of course, I made him sign documents promising not to tell anyone, including Brandon, that I was
investigating his case. I didn’t want to give Brandon false hope, so if I was going to fail, I wanted to do
so quietly.
He was hesitant at first since it was the first time he was keeping a secret from Brandon, and it didn’t sit
well with him, but I persuaded him to see things from my perspective, and he consented.
Brandon was surreptitiously buying houses and shares from Josh, so I had money in my accounts. I
was intending to use that money to fund my Brandon project In his honor. I pulled out all of my Harvard
PhDs that I had stupidly packed because of love.
It was the moment to put those papers to good use. I didn’t have a medical degree or a PhD in
medicine but I had degrees in medical device invention and biomedical engineering.
That was my strategy, they were unable to find a cure or treatment but I planned to create a device or a
machine, maybe something like a dialysis machine but not for the kidneys but the cells. All I had to do
was research his condition.
