Chapter 184
Alpha Calhoun felt terrible, as he stared apologetically at Aurora but her expression was neutral and she was eating calmly.
It was even more difficult for him to tell if she was upset or being tolerant.
“Asena, this soup is delicious. Aurora cooks better that the restaurant we used to order food.” He stared apologetically at Aurora.
“Aurora, please don’t be upset. This is really delicious,” he apologized, Aurora responded calmly.
“It’s nothing, Cal.”
Asena’s jaws dropped. “She calls you by your name?” It was too hard for her to comprehend what was going on.
Was she hearing right?
A frustrated sigh escaped Alpha Calhoun. “Yeah, she earned it too.” He lost his appetite and rose to his feet. “Let’s go.”
Arriving at the airport, Asena’s jaws dropped when she saw the man who looked like Calhoun but even better.
She did not need an introduction, though she had not met him before. A few months after she met Calhoun and before she joined the Cresent Moon Pack, Max had already left.
She hastened to him, as the driver went ahead to take the luggage. “Hi, I’m Asena…” her hand froze in midair as Max rudely walked past her and into the car.
The driver had already opened the door to the back seat and as soon as he sat, Asena went to sit beside him.
“Asena, you should sit in the front,” Cal said, not liking the way his kid brother treated her but Asena was reluctant. Maximus did not make it difficult for them.
He stepped out, walked to the front, opened the door and sat on the passenger seat beside the driver.
Calhoun felt that his brother was completely out of control, thanks to all the years spent at the human world.
“Max, we need to talk.”
Max did not turn around, already known to have a bad temper, worse than his brothers. “I can hear you from here but can you not come with your whore to meet me next time.”
Asena paled but Alpha Cal quickly defended her. “She’s not a whore. She’s the future Luna of the pack.”
Max stared and stared at Asena. His gaze was so piercing, she quickly lowered hers. Max had the same eyes as Alpha Calhoun but she could not understand how Max’s eyes could be so scary.
“I see and she is?” He asked nonchalantly after turning around. If Cal introduced this woman as his future Luna, then Max had to respect it.
“Asena,” answered in annoyance, Max chuckled.
“Oh, that is her. The doctor, I guess.”
Asena was beaming for the fact that Max was no longer cold and hastily spoke up. “Yes. If you don’t mind, I can do a general check up on you.”
“No thanks. I’m very fit,” Max said in a nonchalant tone which rather sounded rude.
“Max, no need to be rude. She’s trying to be nice,” Calhoun said in annoyance. He hadn’t recovered from keeping Asena from feeling jealous of Aurora and Max had to show up to worsen the whole thing.
“I’m hungry. Do you have food at home or should I order?” Max asked from the blue when he saw a grocery store nearby.
“Order,” Cal shrug. There was no way he would let Aurora cook for Max or anybody else.
“Or I could cook for you,” Asena volunteered, Cal glared at her.
“Since when did you learn to cook?” Both Asena and Max were annoying him greatly. Asena was developing a profound liking for Max due to his personality.
Also, he looked like the top business progeny in New York, Maximus Davis. That man was known to hate women so it could not be this man right?
However, Calhoun was the Alpha and could banish her. She quickly created an excuse. “He’s soon going to be my brother–in–law. I have to make him like me.”

Chapter 184
“It won’t matter. Whether he likes you or not, we are already engaged,” he said to Asena in a hushed tone before addressing Max in the front.
“Dad said you were looking for someone. Who is it?”
Max’s expression turned sorrowful. If he had a name, he was sure to have found her by now. “I don’t know her name either.”
“Then you won’t find her,” Cal responded heartlessly but Max could not care what he thought.
He was going to find that girl. As to if it was a coincidence that Alpha Nick was looking for his daughter Daisy at the time or she was the one Max saved, he had to find her somehow.
If she was dead, he wouldn’t be feeling this way, right?
“I will begin my search tomorrow so don’t expect me to shoulder so much beta responsibilities.”
He knew that for as long as he was there, he had to help his brother with the position of the beta but as soon as he found that girl, he would drop everything and take her with him to New York.
“Don’t worry. Aurora is already doing a good job,” Alpha Cal said proudly, Max looked out of the window and seeing another grocery store, his stomach growled.
A month after his mother died, he began to cook his food as he never enjoyed anything prepared by the maids or whatever Cal ordered.
That was when he began cooking his own food, remembering how his mother used to do it before falling sick.
Even in her last moments, she would still cook for the family, as it was something she loved to do, not caring that she was the Luna and had maids.
Max got emotional at the recollection of his mother. They shared a special bond.
“Stop the car and let me get groceries. I will cook myself.”
“With pleasure,” Cal said, the car pulled over in front of the grocery store.
“I can…” Asena about to say that she could help when Cal stopped her.
“Shut up, Asena.”
They waited in the car and Max returned after thirty minutes, his words causing Cal to lose his mind.
“I bought gives for Aurora or whatever to thank her for doing my job, and to motivate her to do better since I won’t mostly be around.”
Cal was uneasy. If Max began to hit on Aurora, he doubted he would be able to stop him. Max was so willful and had not even given up on the
Crescent Moon Pendant.
“I want to see it,” he demanded but Max was han
to have kept the groceries with him and not dropped them in the booth of the car.
The gift was also well hidden. “No, you can’t. You are not her.”
Alpha Calhoun swallowed his rage and the rest of the journey was in silence. The packhouse was quiet when they arrived but there was light Aurora’s room.
She heard voices downstairs. “I want to give it to her myself. Will you call her or should I check all the rooms?”
A voice similar but deeper than that of Alpha Cal sounded from downstairs, Aurora wondered how the junior brother could be this fierce.
Though pretending to be asleep, she heard everything strangely y but did not go out until she heard a knock on her door. “Aurora, it’s me,
When Aurora opened the door, she did not see one Cal, but two and her heart rate quickened instantly.
in
Cal.”
