The Accidental Wife (Emily and Julian)

The Accidental 203

“Need help, cupcake?” Silas comes from behind me and kisses my cheek, making me smile.

Silas and I are at my parents‘ place, but it’s not just us here. Silas parents, Aniyah, Tristan and his wife are also here for Christmas dinner.

“You can help me with carrying the plates.” I turn around and kiss his lips. Making the dessert for tonight is my duty and I’m just adding the final touches before taking it to everybody in the living room.

“Did you make a traditional English trifle with beef, peas and onions.” He smirks and I playfully shove him. I told him once that I wanted to try once the dessert Rachel from Friends made and I planned to surprise him with it one day and ever since. then, he has been expecting me to serve it to him one day.

“Not gonna do that to our family on Christmas. Nobody is going to taste that awful thing I plan on trying to make one day but you.” I stick my tongue out at him.

“Oh, so I’m the only one who gets to be tortured with that weird combination?” He acts offended and I simply nod.

“And I expect you to act like Ross,” I point out, putting my hands on my waist.

“Trust me, baby girl,” a smile takes over my lips when he places his hands on my waist, right above my own hands as he pulls me towards him, “I will definitely act like him.” He leans down and kisses me. I drop my arms for less than a second then wrap them around his neck.

“You know, I never thought somebody could look this good in an ugly Christmas sweater.” I grin, making him chuckle. N hand him the plates while I carry the dessert.

“I could say the same to you,” he says as we make our way together to the living room. There is a huge Christmas tree in there and a lot of gifts are placed under it, but there’s one gift that I cannot wait for Silas to open tomorrow.

We finished dinner a little while ago and now it’s time for dessert

Ever since what happened to the girls and me, our families have been overprotective even though Everest is dead.

The first week after I got out of the hospital was the worst. I kept having nightmares and my body stayed sore due to the amount of kicks I received. Silas didn’t leave me for a minute, and he made sure to make me feel loved, supported and protected.

It turned out that the guy that was with Everest was somebody he met in prison. They planned the whole thing together. They kidnapped the girls to get me to bring them the money. Everest truly planned to sell me to somebody who worked in human trafficking. They had a terrible plan for me that I still do my best to forget about.

As for the girls, when that guy placed them in the trunk to abandon them somewhere, he got stopped by the police and they made him guide them to where I was. Lily and Aniyah were so quiet and obedient when I saw them at that house because he threatened to make one of them kill the other if they caused any trouble. They were taken to the hospital first, then I got taken to the same one once I was found.

The three of us are still attending therapy, but we’re doing so much better. Mum told me that Lily still has nightmares, but they’re not as constant as they used to be. As for Aniyah, it was hard for her to sleep on her own for the first five days after she was rescued and until now, she needs to have a source of light in her room while she’s asleep.

Silas fired all of the guards who were present during that day and decided to hire a new security company. I tried to convince him that I was the one who told the guard to do what I asked, but according to him, they didn’t act in the right way, and he couldn’t ensure my safety with them anymore.

His big game was nine days ago, and I attended. He thought that after what happened, I wouldn’t want to go out much, but I knew that I had to do whatever it took me to live my life normally and that’s what I did. I also wanted to get over my fear of

seeing him getting hurt while playing, so I pushed myself to attend the game.

I was on edge the whole time and the relief I felt when the game ended was like no other, but Silas was happy that I was there, which was my main goal. He did a lot for me, and I just wanted to pay him back in any way I could.

When he saw me after the game, he ran towards me, picked me up and twirled me around, telling me that he was still keen on recreating that scene in the lyrics of The Alchemy; it was the song I made him listen to once when we were in college. The way he pays attention to the things I tell him is one of the many reasons why I’m madly in love with him.

“Looks like somebody is sleepy,” Silas says, poking my nose after the movie ends.

“Yeah,” I whisper. We have just watched two movies, and I just want to curl up in bed and sleep.

“She’s not the only one,” Tristan says, pointing to Scarlett who is already asleep on the couch beside him. She looks so beautiful in her pregnancy.

“All right. Let’s call it a night then,” Dad says, and the others hum in agreement.

Silas and I head to my bedroom, and it doesn’t take us a lot of time to fall asleep. When we wake up the next day, we head downstairs in our Christmas pajamas to open the gifts. This is the part I’m excited about. Nobody knows anything regarding what I’m about to announce, which adds more to my excitement

“This is for you, Silas,” Naomi says. Enthusiasm fills me when I notice the wrapping. This is my gift.

“What did you get me?” he asks me with a smile as he starts opening the gift. The living room is full of gift–wrapping paper, boxes and gift bags.

“I’m sure you’re gonna love it!” I beam.

“Is this a hoodie? Why do you look so excited about a hoodie?my brother wonders.

I ignore his question and watch my husband whose face turns into pure shock when he reads what’s written off the hoodie. “Please tell me I’m getting this right,” he says, looking at me with so much hope in his eyes.

Yes.” I nod with a huge smile on my face.

“I’m gonna be a dad!” Silas hollers as he snatches me from my place and embraces me tightly, making me laugh. The whole room erupts with cheers and joy, and I find myself tearing up. After everything we have been through, we’re finally going to make our own family. I already know that this baby is going to be showered with so much love.

“What did the hoodie say?!” Aniyah excitedly asks.

on and shows it off to everyone proudly with a massive grin on his face.

“A little rookie is on the way. Team Kensington–Cromwell is getting a new player next fall,” Lily reads it out loud and I smile as my husband pulls me close to him.

“I know that I’m going to spoil this baby to the point that I will drive you crazy,” Mum says happily, making me laugh.

“Count me in with that whole spoiling thing. I can’t wait to become an uncle!” Tristan adds, and Silas shakes his head.

“It’s going to be hard to say no to our child. I can already feel it,” Silas chuckles and I nod. But I also know that Silas won’t be able to say no to our child.

I’m thankful for everything and everyone in my life. I know that without each one in this room, I would have never been able to feel that kind of happiness I’m now feeling. It’s so good to have a family like mine and I can’t wait till it gets bigger.
