Chapter 7 Send Her back Home
"Ding..."
Suddenly, her phone rang. When Pamela answered the phone, she heard an old and familiar voice from the other end of the line, "Pamela, you're back. Come
out and meet me."
The man was Arnold Austin, Pamela's father.
In the three years of her marriage, Arnold didn't care about her at all. In the six years she had been in America, her father had never cared about her.
If it weren't for this phone call, Pamela would have thought that Arnold had forgotten her!
Nine years was a big part of her life without her father.
With mixed feelings, Pamela said in a choked voice, "Dad, how about another day? I have something to deal with today."
"Dad is downstairs. I just saw you go upstairs."Pamela was speechless.
In the restaurant “Butterfly”, Pamela once came here with Arnold. As for why Arnold knew that she had come back in such a short time and knew where she
lived, no one knew.
After Arnold ordered a few dishes, the atmosphere became quiet.
No one said the first word.
Although they were father and daughter, they got along with each other strangely.
After a long while, Arnold said, "Pamela, your sister told me that I saw you in the company today. I didn't expect you to come back from America."
He didn't expect? How much he didn't want her to come back?
Pamela smiled bitterly and didn't answer.
"Pamela, when I was waiting for you downstairs, I saw you bring a child back. Who is that child?" Arnold asked meaningfully.
Anthony and Pamela had always been well protected from anyone in the capital city.
After all, Anthony was given birth to by herself secretly, and neither Stephen Family nor Austin Family wanted this child, so Pamela didn't want them to know it,
lest they would hurt her baby son.
"Dad." Pamela said coldly, "we haven't seen each other for so many years. Don't you ask me how I'm doing?"
He would ask her either why she had come back or about her child. Such a purposeful question would attack her in the future! Therefore, Pamela avoided
answering his question.
Realizing that his words were not right, Arnold changed his tone with a smile, "Pamela, how have you been abroad these years? You didn't tell me when you
left. I don't know how to find you!"
Did he look for her?
"And Pamela, you should know that your sister is going to marry Martin, so you'd better avoid him. If you don't want to go back to the United States, you can
also work in my company. Don't you think so?"
Is this the reason why Arnold came to her today?
It was his father who arranged her to marry Martin. Now she was going to be the victim!
"Dad, it's up to me. I don't need you to arrange for me!" Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
Pamela stood up with her bag, "I thought you came to me today because you still remembered that I’m also your daughter. But I didn't expect that you would
always remember me only for interests! Dad, you can forget me! In the future, please never think of me again!"
When he thought of her, he must want to be his chess piece again! She didn't want to take the same path for the second time!
She walked out of the restaurant.
Rows upon rows of luxury cars were parked at the gate, and the entrance was blocked by them.
In the crowd, she saw the man who was surrounded by the crowd wherever he went.
The street lamps at night shone on his body, coating his tall body with a layer of dark golden light. His dignity could not be ignored, and his existence could be
found at a glance.
Pamela narrowed her eyes and walked to the other side.
Even if they met again now, she just wanted to pretend to be a stranger. She didn't want to disturb her peaceful life with Anthony for so many years because of
his appearance.
"Pamela!"
At first, Pamela just wanted to leave silently and take a taxi to go back home without being discovered. However, Arnold's shouting attracted many people's
attention.
"Pamela, I didn't mean to say that just now. You know, it's hard for me to deal with you and your sister. But you are my daughter after all. How can I forget
you?" Arnold said, "let's go to have dinner. We haven't had dinner together for a long time."
Pamela shook her head, "no, father. I have something else to do."
Before leaving, she promised Anthony to go back soon.
Arnold was in a dilemma, "then I'll drive you home. It's not convenient to take a taxi on this road."
"No, Dad. I can go back by myself."
Arnold sighed and stopped forcing her. When he saw Pamela leave, he happened to see the man walking towards her not far away.
It’s Martin.
His eyes were burning and seemed to have been fixed on her for a long time.
Within two steps, Pamela bumped into him head-on.
The two of them were only one step away. He didn't mean to make a detour or make a concession, but his eyes were like nails embedded in her body.
"I will send you back home."
His cold voice came from above, calm and emotionless.
