Taming The CEO The Escaping Wife

Chapter 102

Chapter 102

The resolve in Letitia’s eyes crumbled in an instant with his words. Her family had always been her weakness

Get it now? Elgin asked, ‘So, what should you do, need me to spell it out for you?”

Letitia was nearly biting her lower lip to bleeding. Elgin didn’t lay a finger on her, didn’t touch her, but those few words made her want to kneel on her own.

“Elgin… you’re ruthless.”

He just lifted his chin a bit, quietly waiting for her to bow down.

Letitia shook off Mark’s hand, licked the blood at the comer of her lips, a taste of iron and sweetness. All her dignity, Elgin could easily stomp it under his feet

Just now, Mark couldn’t make her bend her knees no matter what, but now, she was slowly getting ready to kneel.

“Letitia!” A crisp voice rang out, and everyone’s heads tumed towards the door in unison.

Vidonia Bailey burst in, quick as a flash to support Letitia, “What the heck are you doing!”

Vidonia…”

“Damn it,” Vidonia steadied her, “I knew something was up when you didn’t show up for work!”

“How did you get here?”

‘I came looking for you,” Vidonia said, “I had to pull some strings with Samson Stewart to find out you were here, and I rushed over.”

Letitia nudged her, “You go back to the office first.”

“No, if we’re leaving, we’re leaving together.” Vidonia looked at Shela and Mark, “What are you trying to pull? You want to mess with Letitia, you’ll have to get through me first!”

Shela gritted her teeth, “Why is it always you!”

This Vidonia, always ruining her plans, always got Letitia’s back with Mr. Stewart in her corner, always butting heads with her!

“Why? Got a problem?” Vidonia shot back, “Is the hospital your family property? You’re the only one who can come?”

“Mr. Ramirez! Shela, unable to win the argument, could only seek help from Elgin again.

Vidonia chuckled, “What, you don’t have a voice of your own? Is Mr. Ramirez your official spokesperson?”

While giving Shela a piece of her mind, she checked Letitia over.

Seeing that Letitia had no obvious injuries, she breathed a sigh of relief.

But.

“Why do you look so pale? Your hands are ice cold.” Vidonia warmed her hands, “What happened?”

Letitia truly didn’t know where to begin. She opened her mouth, then swallowed the words back.

Mark burst out angrily, “Letitia dragged Shela down the stairs, causing Shela to miscarry. This murderer, this culprit, we obviously have to settle the score with her!”

“What!” Vidonia exclaimed, “You fell down the stairs? How’s my godson? Is he still there?”

Letitia patted her hand, “I’m fine, the baby… luckily, is fine too”

Vidonia heaved a sigh of relief, “Thank goodness, you scared me to death.”

“Hey, did you miss the point?” Mark intervened dissatisfied, “Shela miscarried!”

Who is this woman? So rude and loud!

Shela’s miscarriage, what’s that got to do with me?” Vidonia said, “If it’s gone, it’s gone. As long as Letitia is alright.”

“What nonsense are you talking about?”

The truth! Shows that karma’s real!*

Mark pointed at her, “Who are you to talk like that?!”

Who I am is none of your business. Let me tell you, Shela’s miscarriage is karma Vidonia laughed, “She’s the other woman, carrying an Megitimate child, unrecognized and unnamed. It’s gone, so be it. Even the heavens couldn’t stand it.”

The thought of Elgin being married and having a child with Shela sent chills down her spine.

What a piece of work.

Let’s go, Letitia, Vidonia pulled Letitia, ‘We’re going home.”

in ciitical moments, there’s always a true friend who would steps up, not asking about the situation, not minding right or wrong, unconditionally on your side….

“You want to leave? No way!” Mark blocked their path, You can leave, but Letitia stays!”

“Who are you to keep her? What right do you have to restrict our freedom?”

“She killed Shela’s baby!”

Vidonia retorted, “Do you have proof? They both fell together. I haven’t even started with you on upsetting Letitia’s pregnancy!

“Mr. Ramirez, who is this woman…” Mark was exasperated, “She is so rude!”

Elgin glanced at Vidonia, “Get out, this isn’t the place for you.”

I was about to leave, but there’s a dog in the way!”

Mark puffed up. “Who are you calling a dog!”

“Whoever’s blocking the way!”

“Letitia stays Elgin spoke, You can go.”

“That’s not happening, i’m taking her with me.”

“No chance.”

Vidonia huffed, ‘Elgin, either you divorce now and marry Shela, letting Letitia go. It’s not like she can’t live without you.”

“She thinks she can take the kid and get away scot-free? Dream on!”

“The kid’s not yours, why do you care so much!”

“Because it’s not mine, and she killed mine, Letitia has to pay!”

Vidonia’s temper flared, not caring that she was facing the powerful Elgin, and started arguing.

“Letitia fell too, she didn’t push Shela, how can you shift the blame onto her? Maybe, it was Shela who trapped her, pulling her down on purpose!”

Shela screamed, “You’re framing me!”

“Whether it’s framing, you know best!”

“Do you really think I’d harm my own child to frame Letitia?” Shela said, “Am I that cruel?”

“Yes

Shela’s face nearly twisted out of shape.

Vidonia’s gaze darted between her and Mark, “To me, this looks like your scheme. Trying to kill Letitia’s baby and then pin it on her… And what happened? It backfired, karma found you, and you harmed yourself!”

Vidonia was undefeated when it came to arguments. She never lost a fight

Elgin’s eyes went icy as he reached out to grab Letitia’s hand, but she dodged it in a flash.

“Letitia,” Elgin’s hand froze in mid-air, “Come here!”

“No.” She sternly said. If Vidonia could stand up for her, facing off against these folks for her, how could she show any weakness!

Elgin squinted his eyes, “Defying me? You know the consequences”

Letitia met his gaze with serene defiance. The tension… was about to explode.

Just then, Samson walked in, “Hey, what’s the buzz? The car’s waiting downstairs, Vidonia, let’s hit the road.”

With that, he ushered Vidonia and Letitia out first, covering their exit

“Samson Stewart, Elgin called out in a tone that resonated with an underlying threat

Samson said with a chuckle, “Chill out, getting angry only adds wrinkles and fast-forwards you to menopause.”

Elgin made a move to grab Letitia, but Samson quickly stepped in, “Cool It, man. Take a breather before you do something you can’t

take back.”

He was stalling, slowly making his way outside.

Just as Elgin was about to blow his top, Samson quickly ran away.

“Mr. Ramirez, I can’t just let my baby die for nothing,” Shela wailed, tugging on his sleeve, “I didn’t even start to put up a fight, all Dad wanted was for Letitia to apologize, and she acted all high and mighty like she’d rather die than give in… Do I look like a pushover?”

“Exactly, we’re talking about a precious life here, Letitia has to answer for what happened no matter what!” Mark said, giving Shela a secret nod on the down low. Shela got the hint right away.

“Mr. Ramirez, you’ve got to stand up for me. Our baby, we waited so long, it was so precious… I still feel like he’s here, in my belly, keeping me company.. Before she could finish, Shela crumpled to the ground like a rag doll.

“Shela!” Mark shouted, “Mr. Ramirez, Shela’s fainted!”

Elgin caught her, “Get a doctor, now”

His mind was a mess, a raging inferno. He wanted to confront Letitia, but with Shela out cold, he was stuck.

In the car, Letitia sat in the back seat, gently caressing her belly.

It was only now that a wave of relief hit her. Her baby had really dodged a bullet.

After tumbling down the stairs and missing the surgery window, the little one was still holding on inside her.

Her brave little trooper.

“What the hell happened?” Vidonia demanded, “Letitia, spill the beans.”

Letitia laid out the whole story, sparing no details.

“Holy smokes! Did Elgin even think before he acted?! He’s like a freaking executioner! And Shela, what a sneaky fox! She came to grab your hand? Yeah, right. As if she was gonna save you – she’d be doing good not to kick you while you’re down. It was a setup! It had to be!” Vidonia was fuming, barely able to believe Letitia had made it through.

“Quit your yapping,” Samson said as he drove, “The biggest issue now is that Shela’s baby is really gone.”

“That’s what she gets! Maybe she thought she’d be fine if she landed on Letitia, using her as a cushion, but ended up screwing herself over instead, and Letitia walked away without a scratch!”

“Elgin doesn’t care about the process, only the outcome,” said Samson.

Vidonia rolled her eyes, “Whose side are you on, anyway?”

“Yours, of course. Why else would I have bolted to the hospital to save you two?” Samson replied, “This is a hot mess, Letitia. It’s something you and Elgin have to hash out between yourselves.”

They can’t save her everytime, it’s like trying to settle a family feud as an outsider.

Samson added a word of caution, “And whatever you do, don’t bring up Neil Thompson in front of Gin again.”

“If it wasn’t for Neil, Letitia’s baby would be gone,” Vidonia said, “Man, I used to think Walden Sullivan was a jerk, didn’t deserve you, bailed on you when the going got tough. But now, compared to Elgin, any guy seems like a saint.”

“Right? Now you see how great I am,” Samson bragged.

“Get lost.”

Letitia kept her head down, silent. Elgin had been a real piece of work to her, detestable and hateful. Throughout their marriage, he had never invested his heart, only using her.

And the blood feud between their families was making things worse.

But to Shela… he had been nothing short of perfect.

Meticulously caring, matenally generous, always there to lend a hand – when Shela wanted to act, he set up an entire film division just

for her

So, you see, there’s no such thing as a total jerk; it’s just that his warmth isn’t for you.

don’t know what Shela’s endgame is. Maybe she’s using the loss of the baby as a ploy to break me, to make Elgin despise me. Letitra roused. “She succeeded.”

Dock of vory Towers. Letitia stond silently at the entrance to the servants’ quarters, eyeing the steps.
