TAMING THE BEAST IN HIM ( His Red Phoenix )

Phoenix finally succeeded in breaking the padlock and dashed into the cell.

She was about to rush to him but stopped abruptly as her eyes scanned his whole body. Seeing the cuts, ruptures, and fresh scars on his body, a loud whimper left her lips, and the tears she was holding back finally rolled down freely.

Her Axion. Which heartless being did this to him? How was he able to endure this? Was this the pain her mother was telling her about in her dream? Isn’t this too much? How could she have been sleeping while her Axion was in pain and it’s all because of her?

Thinking of all these, an intense pain pierced into her heart making her hold her chest. It felt as though her heart was being scrapped and stabbed repeatedly that she almost slump to the floor due to pain.

” A… x… ion ” Her words broke since she was literally choking on her tears. With trembling hands she reached out and held his cheeks, tilting his head up.

” Axion ” She caressed his cheeks, her tears rolling down even more.

” Who did this to you? ” It came out faint. The pain she was feeling just looking at Axion was killing.

” Please open your eyes, Axion. Your Phoenix is here ”

” Please ” She broke down in tears, hugging him.

A low painful groan left Axion’s lips as he slowly opened his feeble heavy eyes. Phoenix pulled out immediately on hearing his groan.C0ntent © 2024 (N/ô)velDrama.Org.

” Axion… you’re awake ” She chuckled through the tears, cupping his cheeks. Seeing Phoenix despite how tired and how much pain he was feeling, a weak smile drew up Axion’s lips.

” Phoenix ” He called faintly.

” Am I dreaming or… are… you really here? ”

” I’m here Axion, your Phoenix is here ” Phoenix mumbled, brushing his face with her thumb.

” Why are you crying? I hate seeing you in tears, have I told you that before? ” Phoenix nodded negatively trying to sniff back her tears but it wasn’t working as instead more tears rolled down. Axion tried reaching out to wipe her tears but the chain won’t let him. He let a loud grunt as he felt his whole body twinge in severe pain.

” I’m sorry ” Phoenix couldn’t help but mumble and that made him chuckle weakly.

” Why are you apologizing? ”

” You’re in so much pain because of me. You endured all these just to save me and is all my fault ” Phoenix cried uncontrollably. Axion frowned in disapproval and his heart ached to hear her cry. He wanted to reach out and pull her into a hug right now… but he couldn’t. He’s still tied up.

” Sush ” He hushed her instead.

” If you keep on crying, I’d be forced to close my eyes and not talk to you ever…”

” No don’t do it. Don’t close your eyes please, I promise I’ll stop crying ” Phoenix trailed him off immediately, pouting sadly. She doesn’t want him to stop talking to her for fear he might not wake up again if he closes his eyes. She sniffed back, wiping her tears.

” See, I’m not crying anymore” She sulked cutely and Axion smiled.

” You’re such a good girl ” He chuckled but then Phoenix’s pout vanished in a jiffy replaced by a deep angry frown. She just remembered something which made her eyes turn flaming red.

” Corbin did this, didn’t he? ” She snarled as her fist clenched. Axion’s heart skipped in fear seeing she was starting to get angry.

” It doesn’t matter, ok? I’m fine and I’m here ”

” No! ” Phoenix snapped, her anger getting the best of her.

” He did all this to you. He wanted to kill you and you’re in so much pain because of him! ”

” How dare him to try to hurt my Axion? ” She sheared, breathing in rage. Her eyes burned more dangerously and a fireball appeared on her palms. Her necklace and hair tie glowed brightly at the same time and so did the symbol at the nape of her neck.

This shows that her anger has reached its peak and all that mattered to her right now is to kill Corbin for inflicting so much pain on her Axion.

” Phoenix…”

” I am going to make that bastard pay!! ” She growled and stormed out of the cell, ignoring all the callbacks from Axion.

Corbin was busy in his room, sipping from the glass of wine in his hand, happily. He just couldn’t stop smirking and grinning after torturing Axion and was also planning the next torture to inflict on him.

Well, his happiness was short-lived as the door of his room busted open, revealing Phoenix whose eyes were completely like fire, and on her hand was a sword.

Corbin laughed seeing her like he was expecting and waiting for her to come to him. He kept his glass cup and stood up.

” Oh, Phoenix. What brings such a damsel to my house, my room to be precise? ” He chuckled, striding toward her. Phoenix snorted, loudly.

” You dare torture my mate and still have the guts to ask me why I’m here, really? ” She puffed in anger.

” Aww, you came here to fight me. I’m so honored ” Corbin derided, rolling his eyes. How can a Phoenix even fight him? What he said made Phoenix smirk.

” Corbin, Corbin, Corbin ” She nodded pitifully, stepping closer to him.

” I’m not here to fight you cause I don’t fight pansies ” She scoffed and Corbin glared at her. Did she just call him a weakling?

Deciding to play along, he let out a slight laugh.

” Oh really? Why are you here then and with a sword actually? ” He asked and Phoenix raised the sword to his jaw, using it to tilt his head up to stare deep into her burning eyes.

Corbin couldn’t deny his heart skipped a bit in fear when he gazed into her terrifying eyes. Phoenix smirked seeing the fear in his eyes.

” I’m here to warn you, Corbin, to be on the watch cause you won’t know what will hit ya from the back. You might think you have the upper hand because you have the Golden Dagger but you easily forgot that you’re Dark Genie and no matter what… one day, that dagger will end you on its own ”

” And don’t worry, you are not my main enemy, Medusa is. And even if I want to fight anyone then it will be her and not a pushover like you ”

” I can’t believe you let Medusa control you and torture you for 27 years and you couldn’t even for once fight her. She treated you like an animal yet you couldn’t do anything. And here you are claiming to be a Genie yet you couldn’t even fight Axion without binding him because you know that you’re nothing but a wuss compared to him ”

Corbin’s anger reached its peak and his eyes turned dark purple instantly.

” How dare you?! ” He growled, his fingers growing into sharp claws and he slapped her hard across the face, his claws digging into her flesh.

Phoenix’s head darted to one side, her face bleeding. She let out a wry laugh, glaring at Corbin who was fuming in rage, with a dangerous smirk. Her face was hurting badly but she didn’t care.

” Is that all you got? ” She challenged, raising a brow at him.

” Instead of you wasting your time trying to kill Axion, why don’t face Medusa if you think you’re worth being called a Genie ” She spat and turned, heading to the door.

But then she stopped on her track when Corbin busted out in a peal of evil laughter. She turned to look at him, her face squeezed in a frown.

” Wow, you aren’t as weak as I thought Phoenix but you aren’t smart either ” Corbin joggled up to her.

Showing her his claws which were all stained with her blood, he grinned.

” Seems like no one told you that the claws of a Dark Genie are poisonous and deadly which is why we love using them to catch our prey. You will die the instant you step a foot out of here ” He revealed but his grin vanished when Phoenix only huff with an eye roll.

” I am not ? smart but I ain’t dumb either. And don’t worry, I know how poisonous your claws are but too bad… you missed. This on my face…” She pointed at her cheek.

” Is nothing but a minor scratch because I made sure to dodge your attack. So… ” She reached to his ear.

” Better luck, next time ” She whispered, leaving Corbin who was boiling in great rage.

” How dare she?!! ” His voice thundered, the whole room vibrating in momentum…
