” Who… are… you? ” Phoenix managed to ask, swallowing the lump in her throat. Lights came and the old woman appeared with a broad smile on her face. Almost immediately, she transformed into a younger, beautiful, woman.

Her hair was all white and she was putting on a black long dress with a staff in her hand. Phoenix’s jaw dropped to the floor.

” Don’t be scared Phoenix, I’m not here to hurt you ” The woman said and Phoenix eyed her skeptically.

” Who are you? ” She demanded.

” My name is Narcissa and I am a witch ” Hearing that, Phoenix stepped back, a bit scared. The woman chuckled.

” Don’t be scared Phoenix, I am a good witch ” Narcissa assured but Phoenix wasn’t taking any chances.

” Is there anything like a good witch? ”

” Everything has two sides, Phoenix. The good and the bad ”

” Fine then, what do you want from me and why did you pretend to be an old lady in distress ” Phoenix queried.

” I’m here to help you. And I only pretended to need help to see if you have a good heart like your mother ” Narcissa replied.

” You know my mother?! ” Phoenix exclaimed with widened eyes.

” Yes, my dear. Ashley saved me back when she was alive. I was once working with Melinoe and she had every opportunity to kill me. But she gave me a second chance and I’ll forever remain grateful to her ” Narcissa narrated.

” Wow, my mom is famous ” Phoenix mouthed in awe.

” You can say that ”

Just then, the door of the basement opened and Glinda entered. She was surprised to see Phoenix.

” What are you doing here, my dear? I was passing by and saw the lights on ” Phoenix pointed at Narcissa and Glinda’s eyes glittered on seeing her.

” Narcissa?! ” She exclaimed happily, walking up to her.

” What are you doing here? It’s been long ” She giggled and pulled her to a hug. Narcissa hugged her back. Phoenix gawked at the two lady’s lips parted lips.

Glinda and Narcissa pulled out of the hug, looking at her.

” Of course. Ashley, Narcissa, and I were three besties back then ” Glinda laughed.

” Wow ” Phoenix mouthed.

” Anyway Narcissa, what brings you here? ” Glinda questioned.

” I’m here to help Phoenix. Ashley told me she needed help to save her mate ” Hearing that, happiness went down Phoenix.

” My mom sent you? ” She chuckled and Narcissa nodded.

And for once she thought her mom abandoned her. Silly her.

” Yes, Narcissa. Melinoe had Axion under her control and is planning on giving him over to the King of all Dark Genie tonight. I don’t know how to break the spell she used on him ”

” Melinoe still doesn’t want to change, does she? ” Narcissa scoffed.

” The thing here is this, Phoenix. Melinoe isn’t using any spell on your mate. She broke the bond you two had by binding Axion to herself using her blood and by getting intimate with him ”

” But one thing she isn’t aware of is that she didn’t completely break your bond. There is still hope Phoenix. You can still rebind Axion to yourself ” She explained and Phoenix beamed.

” Really? ”

” Yes. Through the process of reverse psychology ” Phoenix grimaced.

” What do you mean by reverse psychology? ”

” It means, since Melinoe was able to bind Axion to herself by getting intimate with him then to break that bond, you need to get intimate with him too ” Glinda explained and Phoenix’s eyes almost popped out of their socket.

” What?! ” She yelled.

” I have to have sex… with Axion?! ” Narcissa nodded.

Narcissa took her hands in and that made her look up.

” This is the only way to save him, Phoenix, or else Melinoe will make him hers, fully. If Axion lands in the hand of the King of all Dark Genie, he will be doomed and so will you ”

Phoenix wasn’t getting convinced. Her head was still spurring in confusion.

” But how am I going to do it? ”

Gianna walked up to her.

” I know this isn’t going to be easy for you, Phoenix. You’re about to go against your body. But Axion’s life is at stake here. Please do it, for his sake, please ” She pleaded and Phoenix stared down. Tears flooded her eyes but she swallowed them back before looking up.

” Fine. I’ll do it. I’ll do anything to save Axion ” She mumbled despite how heavy they felt on her lips. Narcissa smiled proudly at her.

” You are a true Phoenix, my dear, just like your mother ”

Night came the time arrived for Melinoe to take Axion away but yet again, she kicked against it. Instead, she left to go meet Gianna who was still mad at her.

Phoenix waited patiently for her to leave before sneaking into Axion’s room. It turned out Axion was taking his bath so she sat down on the bed, waiting for him while tapping her feet.

” Calm down Phoenix, you can do this ” She gingered, biting her lips, nervousness already eating her up. Thinking of what she was about to do,

” Mom, please give me the strong heart and will to do this ” She prayed.

Almost immediately, the bathroom door opened and Axion stepped out, a towel wrapped around his waist and hair dripping wet. He looked up and he and Phoenix’s gaze locked. He frowned his brows deeply.

Phoenix’s heart skipped and she swallowed nothing, standing up. Her eyes were roaming lustfully on his bare chest and for once she forgot what she came here to do. She didn’t realize when she bit on her lower lip again.

” Don’t you even remember me, Axion? ” She asked and Axion frowned in confusion. But then, his eyes softened when a realization drew to him.

” Ph… oenix ” He stuttered and Phoenix beamed. She ran her hand up to his face, caressing it.

” You remembered ” She chuckled happily. Axion closed his eyes to enjoy the feeling of her touch, placing his hand on hers.

” What happens? ” He asked but Phoenix shut him up with another kiss. He was taken aback at first but then, Phoenix ran her hands back to his chest, rubbing them. That was enough to send sensations down Axion and arouse him. He groaned softly, low on his throat, pulling Phoenix closer by the waist.
