Chapter 44
“I know Emerald will forgive me eventually,” Jace told Kyle. They were in his office, and his friend was worried after finding him in deep thought.
“Of course, she will. And you’re lucky that your son likes you.” Kyle replied, making Jace nod and smile. He told him what Ace had been doing to give him and EMerald time to be together.
“I just hope that our plan will work. Ace had been serious about getting me and Emerald back together, so I didn’t want his efforts to go to waste, either.”
“You can’t blame your son. He wanted to have a complete family, and after calling Liam daddy for a long time, I think his happiness now that he’s finally met you is beyond what we can imagine.” Jace thought the same thing. Whenever he looked at his son, he saw a free-spirited young boy. Even if Emerald is not telling him, he knows that he’s a smart kid at first sight. There’s nothing in this world that Jace wants any more than to have his family.
“Anyway, what happened on your visit to Macau?” Young Higginson asked. After his friend arrived from Indonesia, another invitation was sent to them for a possible collaboration from a wealthy businessman.Content is © by NôvelDrama.Org.
“Mr. Silas wants to talk to you personally, and if possible, he requested that you introduce him to a good game developer as well.”
“Game developer?” he asked curiously.
“I think Mr. Silas is very interested in games as well, and he had his eyes on ACEGame, but I told him that we are already collaborating with them.”
“And?”
“What do you expect? He became more eager to talk to you. But I told him you’re not available to travel, so he decided to come and visit us instead.”
“That’s good. At least you know that I won’t be able to leave Emerald and Ace at this time.”
“Of course. I know you are just starting to fix your relationship with your wife, and I understand that you need to be more visible to her than ever.”
“Thanks, man,” Jace replied gratefully.
“No problem.”
“I got to go to Emerald’s office. Mom wanted Ace to stay in the mansion this weekend again, so I had to ask for her permission before I agreed.” Jace told his friend and got up before leaving his office. Kyle followed him with his gaze while shaking his head. He was very happy for young Higginson and looked forward to his happiness.

Emerald’s office was busy with her coding. She had noticed some glitches in the game, and the graphics were not smooth, so she had been working on that since morning.
“Knock, knock,” Jace said as he tap the already opened glass door before he entered the office. The last time he gets in without a warning, Emerald gets mad at him.
“What is it?” Young Morgan asked without looking.
“Busy?”
“Isn’t it obvious?” she asked, making Jace chuckle as he walked closer to her table.
“Say whatever you want to say,”
“Mom and Dad want Ace to stay with them again this weekend.” Emerald stops typing on her keyboard and looks at her husband with a creased forehead. Jace began to feel hesitant, but then again, young Morgan’s expression changed suddenly and replied.
“Alright.”
“Are you sure?” Jace asked to make sure. He didn’t expect her to agree easily.
“Why? Should I not?”
“No, I mean, Mom will be very happy.”
“Okay,” Young Morgan replied, looked back at her computer, and continued typing. “Don’t leave yet. I asked for a meeting with everyone, and I want you to be there. Let us know if you are satisfied with the development, and if you want to change or suggest anything, you can also tell us.” she added.
“I’ll wait for you then,” Jace said, and Emerald nodded in reply without leaving her eyes on her computer. When it comes to work, young Morgan is very dedicated because she loves what she is doing. She didn’t want any delays, so she prioritized her project next to her son.
At first, she couldn’t believe that she could develop a game. She has low self-esteem and doesn’t believe in herself because of what her sister Emerose always tells her. But after she meets Creep and Elise in person, she realizes she’s a very capable woman, especially when she puts her heart into it.
She didn’t think that she would be able to become what she is now because she only took her diploma through an online lesson. She was thankful she took it seriously with the encouragement of her nanny, Lucy.
Jace left Emerald’s office so she could concentrate and went to the oval table where they conducted their meeting. A team member offered him coffee, which he took gratefully since he was never a snob regarding his employees. He prioritized them as well, thinking they were doing their best and being part of the backbone of his company.
He believed that they were the ones doing everything that he couldn’t. Even though he is the one behind the success of the SoftWare Group, he still believes that he wouldn’t be able to reach his status if not for those who had given their best to do their jobs.
“Is Emerald always like that?” He asked before sipping his cup of coffee. The employees looked at young Morgan’s office and nodded.
“Every time she would ask us to do something, she’s always there to help us as well, sir.” Santy, the illustrator, answered.
“She also has a lot of suggestions, which is why we have many options.” Clarrisa, the one who gave him the coffee, added. Jace nodded, feeling proud of his wife. Since he knew what kind of person she was, young Higginson thinks she has never changed even though she’s considered a successful woman.
After a few more minutes, Emerald left her office and joined them in the meeting area. She discusses some of the changes she made in the game and her reasons for doing so while Jace just listened, admiring her confidence.
“Wait,” Young Morgan said when her phone buzzed and saw Creep’s name with an urgent sign. “I just have to read this first,” she added, opening the message. Her face dimmed and hardened when she saw the message, which made Jace worry.
“Is there something wrong?” he asked. Emerald looked at him and shook her head, but her facial expression didn’t change. This time, she balled her fist, which didn’t go unnoticed, even by the others with them at the table. “Let’s continue and make it fast; I need to go to ACEGame,” she said, putting down her phone before looking at everyone and returning to their discussion.
