Stuck In The Wrong Marriage

Chapter 10

Happy reading….

Haidar’s gaze never left the figure who had just entered the hotel hall.

That smile hadn’t changed since the last time they met. There was no longer the smell of alcohol and incoherent talk coming from her mouth. What Haidar saw at this time was the figure of a very beautiful and graceful woman.

Even until the woman was now standing in front of him, Haidar was still faithfully staring at him in silence. Awestruck.

“Oh, yes, Hera … introduce this Mr. Haidar Pratama.”

Finally Haidar woke up from his long daydream when the middle-aged man tapped him on the shoulder.

“Hera Altezza, wife of Jayden Xavier,” the woman said holding out her hand. Haidar slightly snorted. Why did Hera have to mention Jayden’s name during their introduction? Just pissed him off. But that didn’t stop Haidar from shaking Hera’s hand.

“Haidar Pratama,” said Haidar, smiling widely so that his gummy smile could be seen.

Haidar noticed the change in Hera’s face.

‘Does he recognize me?’ Haidar thought as Hera didn’t take her eyes off him. But it didn’t last long, the woman immediately withdrew her hand and turned her gaze to another direction.

Haidar chuckled. He moved to stand beside Hera with a drink in his hand.

“Sorry, have we met before?” asked Haidar making Hera turn around. He handed the coke to Hera.

“Thank you,” said Hera, taking the drink and turning her gaze back to her husband. “I don’t think so,” Hera answered from Haidar’s question earlier.

“Ah, I see. Maybe it’s just my feelings,” said Haidar.

‘Turns out Hera didn’t recognize me even though I’ve never been able to forget her since we met.’

So sad. Haidar then took a sip of his drink until it ran out as an outlet for his anger.

“Hera!” Jayden called over to Hera and Haidar.

“Good evening, Mr. Haidar!” said Jayden friendly. They shook hands there. While Hera just smiled faintly.

“Yes, good night. It was a very extraordinary party,” said Haidar making the man smile until his deep dimples were visible.

“Thank you, sir,” Jayden said.

“And I just found out that you have a very beautiful wife,” said Haidar again looking at Hera with a crooked smile.

“Of course. In fact she just gave birth to our first child.” Jayden pulled Hera’s waist for a hug.

“Give birth to?” Haidar’s tone sounded a little surprised.

“Yes, Mr. Haidar,” Jayden replied.

“Wow! What a happy family. I’m so jealous of you, Mr. Jayden.”

Because that’s what this family is all about. Impress and envy everyone the pseudo happiness they create. Hera chuckled faintly there as if she was laughing at herself.

The guests have arrived and it is time for the event to begin. Jayden was called on to the stage to formalize plans for the luxury apartment building that will stand in downtown Alatha. Loud applause and praise poured in for Jayden. Elvis and Jane looked proudly at their son. Like can not believe if their child can be as successful as now. Truly extraordinary.

“Maybe you think that I got all of this because of my own hard work. You are very wrong because without the help of the employees who work hard and hard and the help of investors who have believed in me. And most importantly the prayers and support from The people I love so much allow me to have all of this,” Jayden said with tears in his eyes.

“To my parents, in-laws and also the most special of course,” said Jayden looking at Hera who was sitting in the front row. A bright light shone on Hera there. “To my beloved wife, Hera Xavier,” he continued, gesturing for Hera to come on stage.

With heavy steps, Hera followed Jayden’s play. She walked towards the stage towards Jayden. The woman took her husband’s big hand.

What an asshole Jayden.

Why was he being so warm to Hera? It just makes Hera feel confused. Even Hera had to wake herself up several times if all of Jayden’s actions and words were just a charade. But it is undeniable that Hera also enjoyed the moment.

“Thank you for being such a perfect wife and mother to Juan and me,” Jayden said, sounding so sincere.

“Isn’t that already my job?” Hera’s reply made the crowd’s roar even more echoed. Especially when Jayden leaned forward and dropped a kiss on Hera’s lips. Everyone cheered even more.

But not with the two people, Haidar and Elena. Instead they stared jealously at the couple. Even Elena unconsciously gulped down the wine in her glass in one gulp. She was really annoyed. While Haidar was still able to fight his jealousy a little by talking with Hera’s parents. He can still smile even if he has to.

The event continued. After getting off the stage, Jayden and Hera returned to greet the guests. They then joined Haidar and Hera and Jayden’s parents there.

“Wow! That’s amazing, Mr. Jayden Xavier. You have the perfect wife.”

Everyone there turned to the source of the voice. Jayden’s eyes widened.

‘Why did Elena suddenly greet us, in front of Haidar anyway? What if that woman babbles incoherently and exposes our relationship instead?’ Jayden shouted in his heart. He’s really frustrated right now.

“Of course. She is not only the perfect wife for Jayden but also the ideal daughter-in-law of the Xavier family,” said Jane, patting her daughter-in-law’s shoulder.

That made Elena even more emotional. Even the woman’s firm jaw seemed to have hardened.

“Thank you, Mama. I’m so flattered,” said Hera smiling triumphantly at Elena. The woman snorted softly as she bit her lower lip. She smiled back with a sharp look at Hera.

“Yes, Mrs. Xavier. Your daughter-in-law is indeed very perfect but unfortunately it is not enough because Jayden can still glance at other women,” said Elena.

The big family’s smile suddenly faded and was replaced with confused and shocked faces.

“What do you mean?” asked Anne openly.

Elena turned to Jayden. The man glared at him as if to tell Elena not to go that far. But the long-haired woman didn’t care. She was too hurt.© NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.

“It’s natural for a man to glance at other women. That’s the nature of a man,” said Andrew spoke up. Their attention was on the man. “But I’m sure, my son-in-law only loves his wife. No matter how many women he is with, he will definitely come back to his wife,” Andrew continued, making Elena silent for a moment.

“You are sure?” asked Elena again.

“Of course. The women who are with Jayden are only an outlet for him. Whether it’s intentional or not, Jayden will regret it if he wastes Hera,” said Andrew looking at Jayden and Elena alternately.

“Isn’t that right, Jayden?” Andrew asked asking his son-in-law to justify.

Jayden sighed heavily unable to look at Hera or Elena. But everyone knew what kind of answer Jayden would say.

“Sure, Father. I can’t betray Hera.”
