Chapter 13
Chapter 13
Scarletts P.O.V
As soon as its late enough, you and Bri leave her house it's the excuse that you're both studying at
your house, before you drive to Jenny's house. It's the first time you've been to he house, and when
you roll down the street you widen your eyes when your destination is the vast house at the end of the
street. You can tell by the mass cars parked all the way down the street that there's a good amount of
people here.
"Shit. It looks like the whole fucking school is here."
"Knowing Jenny, probably"
She's always been one for attention. Exclusive © material by Nô(/v)elDrama.Org.
You park your can on the street, ignoring the nagging thought in your mind about parking tickets and
driving. Your eyes are trained on the people scurrying to her front door carrying big bottles of what
appears to be liquor.
"Scar, hurry up, lets go!"
You pick up the pace, following after her as best you can in your heels. Your eyes scan the crowd when
you go through th front door, and despite deciding to put thoughts of him on the back burner, you
search for Oliver.
I know he wont show up. Its all talk. God, I'm not disappointed am I?
"Oh my god! Everyone's here! Kitchen, Scar! Let's get our drink on!"
Music pulsates from large speakers in the vast living room. Its so loud it spills into almost every room
you pass through to get to the kitchen. You watch as your peers grind and dance on each other, the
smell of sweat, liquor and sex wafts thick in the air.
"I want to dance but I have to get drunk enough!"
You laugh, and follow behind her as you both arrive at the kitchen. There's a ton of people, but Bri's
large personality helps you shove through the mass of bodies towards the counter which is littered with
plastic cups, and beer bottles.
Your eyes shift to the counter covered with wine bottles, spiked punch, beer and liquor.
Jenny has outdone herself. No surprise. I'm not comparing though.
"What do you want?"
"Wine for me"
"I gotchu!"
Briana manages to grab some wine and hands it to you.
"Thanks"
Briana grins mischievously and manages to swipe a massive mug from the cupboards, ignoring the red
solo cups, and fills it half way with spiked punch and then pours more vodka in with it. You cringe.
"If you're drinking all that, that's your only drink for the night. I don't want you to die!"
Bri rolls her eyes at you, waving you off before she takes a giant gulp of her punch.
"Okay, mom! You're overdramatic"
"Ha! Okay, well when you're throwing up I'll just say i told you so"
"Its not fun unless you throw up!"
This bitch...'
You grin and shake your head. Your eyes scan the crowd once more and that's when you realise they
guy from your chem class is staring at you. Your eyes meet, and you feel yourself blush before you
look away quickly.
"A lot of people are giving you the eye, Scar"
"Really?"
With her mouth pressed against her cup, Briana nods.
"I noticed, Jayden staring at me."
Briana hip checks you, laughing loudly.
"Girl, you better go get on that!"
"I'm not about to get pregnant"
"I am"
Especially not by Jayden... I mean, if I was going to sleep with someone...
You don't finish that thought. You shake your head.
Was I really just about to admit to myself that I wanted to... ya know what. I need to drink.
You down your drink, before you have Bri grab you another one. When she hands you another drink,
she points at Jayden.
"Go over and talk to him"
"No way!"
"Ive said like two words to him this entire school year"
"Well he's clearly into you"
"Well, if he is, I had no clue"
"Well you're about to find out because he's coming over here!"
"Oh, fuck!"
You watch as Jayden pushes his way past people and waves at you.
"I'll leave you two alone"
Briana wiggles her eyebrows suggestively, and you smack her on the arm while laughing.
"Please, Stop. Go"
"Scarlett"
"Jayden"
He chuckles, and despite the crippling anxiety swirling in your gut, you manage to hold a conversation.
"I'm glad to see you here"
"You are?"
"Well yeah. It beats being in class, listening to Mr. Judd go on about dumb shit."
"Yeah, that's true. Do you know if he's assigned partners for the project or do we get to pick?"
Jayden shrugs, taking a swig of beer before frisking his lips in contemplation. Your eyes sweep over his
face.
He's cute. Not in a blatant breathtaking way like Oliver. But in a boyish kind of way. He's not as tall as
Oliver. Oh my god. I need to shut the hell up.
"I'm kind of hoping we can pick"
You nod slowly.
"Do you have a partner in mind?"
There's no one I'm really close with in that class so not really.
You shake your head.
"No one in particular"
Jayden holds his hand over his chest dramatically and feigns being offended.
"Wow, you didn't even consider me?"
Damn... he seems into me
"Did you consider me?"
"Oh yeah"
"Oh. Well hey, I'll take you up on that offer comes Monday"
"I'll hold you too it"
A couple seconds go by in awkward silence. You let your gaze slip back towards the kitchen.
"Well, I better go find Bri before she's completely lost in there"
"Ah, yes. Well, I'm gonna hold you to what you said on Monday"
He teases you with a smirk. You raise your brow and snicker.
"I'm sure you will. Later, Jayden."
He waves goodbye to you with his beer as you go in the pursuit of Briana, venturing down the hallway.
God this house is huge!
You make your way to what appears to be the dining room, and you find Bri hugging Emily - a girl from
your gym class who's pretty down to earth, but known for partying.
"Hey!"
"Oh my god, you have to come quick, someone's skinny dipping in the pool!"
"Holy shit, who?"
"I think its Tessa Scott! Someone said she got so drunk she puked and then just started taking her
clothes off"
You cover your mouth mortified.
"Are your serious?"
Emily nods, excitedly shifting from side to side.
"Yes! I didn't fucking believe it either until someone showed me a picture of it"
You gasp
Tessa's gonna be mortified tomorrow. And leave it to our classmates to videotape and snap pics of it.
Bri turns to you, animatedly bouncing up and down
"We have to check that out"
I'm all one for fun, but Tessa already gets bullied, and it's just going to be worse now.
