Start With An Unexpected Affair

There is a good reason why she came back to BLACK empire, something she has kept hidden to herself

When she got sacked and left the company angrily, someone from ARON had come to her and ask her to work for them, she has hesitated at first since she know how cunning they could be and worst, they are a great rival of Black empire

But then Mr. Bays came to her and offer her another deal instead, a chance instead, a chance to take her revenge on President Black for treating her unjustly and so without thinking but making the decision out of the anger she was feeling then, she had signed the agreement.

Of course she has been working towards her goal but as she works further she realize the revenge she wanted isn’t something as extreme as the one she’s being asked to do, the years she had worked for Black empire wasn’t a joke, she has spent her early youth working for the best of the company and now she will have to turn everything into a ruin.

Yasmin seems to be in a bit of dilemma for the remaining days of the week as she has her mind in many places, the work will be due in few days and she needed to have everything in arrangement and in order, besides the others assign to work with her haven’t been helpful since they see her as an enemy

Not only that but she haven’t find anything yet on Black empire as Mr. Bays has required, also she has settle things with him. Ever since that day, she has tried all she could to avoid him and make sure they have less things to discuss

After the day’s work she decide to stay behind and work overtime when Talia came to meet her and inform her of a dinner gathering

“A dinner?”

“Yes, President Black just ask me to inform the others”

“Well I guess I’m not a part since I am not an employee here” she said and turn back to her desktop

“It is a dinner for the N-project team members” Talia said emphasizing on her every word

“Okay…I have a lot on my desk, you guys can go on without me”

“President Black said there will be no dinner if you are not presence”

Yasmin look at Talia to protest but she saw the group of people behind her waiting eagerly to go have dinner and she know better than to refuse now

“Of course, let’s go” she said with a feign smile and took her bag walking in front

after a long deliberation they finally settled for an expensive restaurant on the east side where their specials is steaks

They grab a room which seems to be earlier reserve and sat around the table while two waiters came in to attend to their orders

“Simple sirloin steak for me” this is a free dinner after all, she should probably eat as much as she wants

“Hmm, add rib-eye steak with some red wine and pastrami sauce” she added and drop the menu to meet with glaring eyes

“I will love steak with mushroom puff tartlets” Talia also ordered and the rest followed suit, taking turns

The waiters left the room with the lists of menu to be served and the room fell into silence as nobody wants to have a conversation while she’s presence. Ever since her return to the company, she has been tagged a spy from ARON who came to steal some vital information from their company

The long silence was over when the waiters troll the server table inside the room to serve the food and everyone quickly pick up their cutleries to dish into the plates

“How good is the food?” Talia asked breaking the long silence

Yasmin look up from her meal and try to swallow the piece of meat in her mouth but failed as she hasn’t chew it at all

“Good” she said in between her chewing teeth

There is another long silence again until one of them decided to ask the question they’ve all been curious about

“Why did you come back?”

Yasmin stare at the person who asked the question and felt the hostility in her question, she drop the meat stuck between her forks and decide to satisfy their curiosities

“So you came to steal from Black?” another asked sharply

Yasmin chuckle before taking a look at the person who made the statement, is that why they are all being wary of her? Because they thought she’s here to steal from them

“Why don’t we just eat instead?” Talia suggested before Yasmin could give her response and she decide to let it go and concentrate on her meal

It has been a long time since she had something this good to eat and be full, she has been so occupied that she barely had no time to cook and could only order something light to fill her stomach everyday

Everyone finish eating and went out of the restaurant while Talia stay behind to grab the pay bill, Yasmin decide to stay back with her rather than go with the group of people who hates her

When Talia settled the bill she head out with her to the spot where others are gathered and came just in time to hear their gossips about her

“Why did President Black allow her back?”

“I can’t help thinking Boss is being soft on her, what if something is going on between the two”

“I heard she likes President Black and tried to get on his bed when she was still his secretary”

“Isn’t that so shameless of a lady? Going after another man’s husband”

“The slut had found another prey hasn’t she? I am sure she’s having some affair with Mr. Bays and that’s why she was out in charge of….”

“Hmm!” Talia cleared her throat to call their attention and they all look back in shock

They immediately begin to walk away abiding one another a goodnight and in a matter of minutes only two of them is left

“I guess no one likes me here” Yasmin said with a weak smile

“Why are you still here then?” Talia ask her

“Of course, I am here for business”

“you and I know that’s not true Yasmin” she said right back

“What do you mean that’s not true?”

“I saw you that night” she said and paused

Yasmin stare right at her and she could feel her resentment, it seems like she has a lot to say to her but she’s restraining from saying much

“What night Talia ?”

Talia gaze at her not saying anything, she then sigh and begin to walk away not giving her an answer, Yasmin caught up with her and ask again what she was talking about but she had her mouth sealed till they part ways.

Since she isn’t in a good mood anymore, she decide to go straight home instead of working overtime as she planned to before but she realize just before she board a cab that she didn’t bring her bag with her to the dinner since she thought she will be going back to the office.

With no choice she head back to the company instead not sure whether she should still do some work or just pick her bag and go home

the whole building was filled with partial darkness as only few lights were put on in some of the offices, it was already this late and most workers have gone home to take a rest from the day’s work

Talia walk back to the building and hurry her steps so she wouldn’t delay since the time seems a bit far spent than she thought, she might have gotten excited about dinner that she forgot he’s waiting for her to report back

She took the elevator and got to President Black’s office where he was waiting for her return, she made sure to knock before coming in, she open her purse and drop a debit card on the table

“We just finish dinner now sir” she said

“Did she eat well?” Talia nodded her head to answer him but he glare at her and she open her mouth instead

“She had two different meals and two glasses of wine”

“Did she say anything when you told her I’m the one treating dinner?”

“I didn’t say directly that you are the one treating dinner but I do say if she is not presence then there won’t be dinner for everyone”

Kyler sigh at her response and keep quiet after, he isn’t sure what he is doing right now but then he knows he’s getting into something he might not be able to handle well later

The other day at the elevator he had watch her daydreamed, when he caught her from tripping and saw her pouted lips, he has actually tried to kiss her but she open her eyes before he could and since then he hasn’t really been able to take his mind off kissing her

When he came in today and walk past her desk, he notice how skinny she has become and how stressed she looks, in order to make sure she had something good to eat he has plan the dinner for everyone else on the team in order not to cause a misunderstanding

He took the card and put it away and got up to leave for home, he can’t keep avoiding his wife and due to many things happening, he has not really paid much attention to her and feel bad about it

They both got out of the office and Talia hesitate a bit not sure if she should tell him about what was said or not

“Boss? I am not sure if I should tell you this or not but…”

Kyler look at her and stop slowly to hear what she has to say but she hesitate a bit and decide to ask a question instead

“Can I ask who Yasmin…I mean Miss. Cassidy is to you?” she swallowed as the sentence went out of her mouth

“A burden, a huge burden I want to get off my shoulders, and a burden that I want to cut my shoulders off just to get rid of” he answered and start to walk away, Talia also follow after him

“A burden?” Yasmin thought hiding beside the door

After what happened between them, he could only think of her as a burden he desperately want to get rid of at all cost, she is the fool to believe maybe he likes her now when he have sex with her, it seems like he is right about her after all

She has lost her senses and concentration for sometimes and let him get her again, she fell for him once again like a foolish teenager but she has gotten her heads straight back now and will never drift off again.
