Chapter 578
"Marilyn, is that red Audi parked at the end of our lane yours? I heard from the mini-mart owner that your future son-in-law drove it over this morning."Ccontent © exclusive by Nô/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.
Marilyn chuckled, "Yeah, Seb gave it to me for commuting."
"Wow, he's quite the big spender, huh?"
"Hey kiddo, I heard you're working at a listed company?"
Sebastian, sitting with a group of men, was asked by a middle-aged woman at the next table. He nodded, "Yep."
"Is your company hiring? My son just graduated, and he's job hunting. Hoping to find a good company. But all these companies want experienced people. Where would a fresh grad get experience from? Don't you need to work several years to be experienced?" Others at the table immediately chimed in, "Tell me about it; it's not like our days. Even college grads have a hard time finding jobs now. There are so many of them, they're a dime a dozen."
"Ugh, we bust our asses putting our kids through school, and they can't even find a decent job."
"I know, my daughter's waiting tables at a restaurant, and she graduated from community college!"
Sebastian calmly asked, "What did your son major in?"
"Computer Science. He said he wanted to work in a gaming company after he graduated, but I have no idea what he'd be doing. I don't understand these young people's industries." "I could get him an internship at a company."
The woman's eyes lit up, "Really? What company? Is it big? Even if it's not, it's fine, as long as my son can gain some work experience for future jobs."
Sebastian gave a slight smile, "The
Damon Group has a gaming company. It's not big, medium-sized I'd say I happen to know some people there, so I can recommend him for an internship."
"That's great! I didn't expect such good luck, Marilyn, your son-in-law is a gem! Cheers."
Marilyn laughed, "It's nothing; don't mention it."
For Seb, it was indeed a small matter, just a casual referral.
Once this happened, others started getting ideas too.
The woman who mentioned her community-college graduate daughter waiting tables couldn't help but ask, "Marilyn, your son-in-law is so capable, could he recommend a job for my daughter too?"
Marilyn looked hesitantly at Sebastian, but he didn't seem bothered at all.
He calmly asked, "What did your daughter major in?"
"Nursing... it's so hard to find a nursing job now. I know we just met, and it's sudden for me to ask you this, but we're in a difficult financial situation, Marilyn knows we took on a lot of debts for her to go to coffege...
Now she can't find a good job, can't even pay off the debts. What's the point of going to college."
Marilyn gave a wry smile, "Indeed, it's a tough issue."
"Mrs. Bishop, how about her daughter working at Compassionate Care Hospital? She could start as an intern."
Marilyn's eyes lit up immediately, "Oh. I forgot about Dr. O'Neal, I can recommend her. Compassionate Care Hospital is where I stayed before; I know the current director."
