Chapter 1244 Empty
Mountain of the Beasts? Lost in thought, Alex stared at the message on his phone. He couldn’t recall ever having any dealings with people from Mountain of the Beasts. Why would someone from Mountain of the Beasts kidnap Stanley? What could possibly be the connection?
Suddenly, Alex’s eyes gleamed. He remembered helping Jessica’s mother deal with the red-dressed female ghost. He had discovered that someone was deliberately targeting Jessica, even placing a doll in the grave of Jessica’s grandfather. Jackson. It was Alex who helped Jessica break that setup, saving their family from disaster.
Jessica and her family once sought the help of Baron from Mountain of the Beasts. I’ve never had any conflicts with people from Mountain of the Beasts, so why would they kidnap Stanley? What exactly is the connection here?
“Dad, I already know who’s responsible for this. Don’t worry! I won’t let anything dangerous happen to Stanley. They dare to hurt you and even have the audacity to kidnap Stanley. I will make sure they receive the punishment they deserve!” Alex enunciated, his eyes filled with resolute determination.
“I merely suffered some light injuries. Let’s go together. We can look out for each other, and I’m worried you won’t be able to handle that old woman on your own,” Zachary said, ready to lift off the blanket and join Alex.
Alex quickly pressed his father back onto the bed. “Dad, you just vomited blood. You should stay home and recuperate! Don’t worry. I’ll be fine. Rest assured!”
“You must bring Stanley back.” Zachary was still somewhat uneasy. However, his injuries were indeed severe, and even if he went with Alex, he wouldn’t be of much help.
Alex solemnly nodded his head. After convincing Zachary to rest, he planned to set off for the Mountain of the Beasts to settle the score with those people.
No sooner had he stepped out of the room and closed the door than Zack came running over, panting heavily. From the look on his face, Alex could tell that he had some good news to share.
“I’m glad Heather is fine. Take good care of her. I’m off to Mountain of the Beasts, and I’ll be back within a week at the latest,” said Alex as he turned and left.
Zack stood there, utterly baffled, scratching his head in confusion. He muttered to himself, “I haven’t even said it yet! How did Alex know I would say that Heather’s condition was already improving? Could it be that Alex is really a deity and can read others’ minds?” NôvelDrama.Org: owner of this content.
At that thought, a wave of fear washed over Zack. After cooking each time, he would always sneak a few bites. He wondered if Alex knew about all those things.
Thinking about that, Zack felt guilty and no longer dared to sneak snacks anymore in the future.
Mountain of the Beasts wasn’t far from Nebula City. After a few hours of car ride, he arrived at his destination. However, the main gate of the Elysian Guild on Mountain of the Beasts was tightly closed. Alex used his mind power to sense, but he didn’t feel the presence of any living beings inside.
If that was the case, it meant there wasn’t a single soul in the Elysian Guild.
He checked his phone once more and confirmed that the person had indeed asked him to come to Mountain of the Beasts. Could it be that the person who sent me this message was just messing with me and not actually part of the group that kidnapped Stanley?
Left with no other options, Alex dialed the number, but there was no answer. He sent a text message but received no reply. It was as if the phone number had suddenly become inactivated.
Alex thought he had found a clue to rescue Stanley, but he didn’t expect the situation to change upon his arrival. How can the vast Elysian Guild be empty? This is truly too strange.
Alex asked around, but no one seemed to know that Elysian Guild had actually closed. Some people even said they were there just yesterday to light candles.
All signs pointed to one fact- the Elysian Guild was only closed that day, coincidentally, on the very day that Alex arrived.
Alex knew those people had led him to that place with a definite purpose. However, he had no idea what that purpose was.
