Did he want to ask a favor from her? Millie was too engrossed in her thoughts and didn’t notice the steps ahead.

She slipped and fell toward Winston uncontrollably.

“Um…” Millie frowned. Her face was pressed against Winston’s back as she breathed heavily.

He turned around immediately and wrapped his arm around her waist to lift her up. “What now?”

She frowned. “I didn’t notice the steps.”

“Millie, you’re always so careless.” His tone carried a hint of impatience.

Millie glared at him. He was already so impatient even though she just bumped into him. If it had been Joanna, he would have felt pity for her, and he would have hugged and kissed her by now, wouldn’t he?

But the next moment, Winston picked her up and carried her in his arms.

He said in a low voice, “I’ll send you home.”

Millie held onto his neck tightly as she stared at him, as if she was a deer caught in headlights. She

had never felt so confused before.

Winston had noticed her gaze. He stared straight ahead and said expressionlessly, “Don’t look at me like that.”

“Winston,” Millie suddenly called out.

Winston only replied with one word coldly. “Speak.”

Millie wanted to ask if he was possessed even though this question was a bit rude.

Was this still Winston? What was going on with him that night? Did he know how unusually he was behaving right now?

Winston suddenly stopped in his tracks. When he looked at Millie again, it seemed like there was a knife in his gaze that could pierce and kill her. This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.

Millie felt scared.

“Don’t you think you’re being too good to me? Do you need a favor from me?” Millie cut to the chase.

“Do you want me to divorce you? We can go through the procedures tomorrow morning, okay?” she

continued.

She didn’t want Winston to be sqnice to her; she was really scared.

Winston had never been so speechless in his life. He looked at Millie’s beautiful face for a long time before asking, “Am I good to you?”

He was only doing something even a stranger would do. Wasn’t this something he should do, given the fact that he’s her husband?

“Aren’t you?” Millie’s eyelashes fluttered, her tone probing.

Winston licked his lips, not knowing what to say.

How badly had he treated Millie? If it was Joanna, she might have even called him fierce if he treated her like this.

Yet, Millie felt that he was being unusually kind to her. Winston frowned, feeling ashamed for some

reason.

It seemed that he had been too harsh on Millie all these years, to the point that he had forgotten that she was his wife.

He lowered his eyes and held Millie tighter. As he walked to the car, he uttered in a low voice, “No.” Millie chuckled and said softly, “It’s enough. It’s enough that I can still experience what it’s like to be Mrs. Greer before our divorce.”

She gently pinched his earlobe. His ears were very nice and soft.

Back in high school, she had joked with him, saying, Winston, if you have soft ears, it’s said that you’ll be afraid of your wife!”

Millie smiled. It turned out that he wasn’t afraid of his wife at all. Instead, he had hurt her deeply.

Winston looked at Millie. When he felt her warm tough on his earlobe, his heart skipped a beat and he felt as if he had been electrified.

She stared at his face without saying a word, but her eyes were filled with regret.

She regretted that this beautiful face and his heart had never belonged to her.

“Winston, can I ask you a question? Feeling a bit tired, Millie nestled in warmth in his embrace.
