Winston just shook his head without saying a word and opened the car door so Millie could get in. She silently entered the car without hesitation.

Winston was driving fast and stopped in front of Caldwell Villa. She got out of the car, but he didn’t follow. He looked at Millie, waiting for her to speak, as she seemed like she had something to say.

Millie hesitated to speak. Eventually, she said, “If you’re busy, perhaps we can reschedule for the day after tomorrow.”

He expected her to say something important, but it was just about their divorce again. Winston hummed in response and left immediately.

Millie watched his car drive away, feeling a mix of emotions. She sighed. When she turned, she noticed Arthur standing nearby. She smiled and rushed over to hug him. “Grandpa.”

Arthur snorted. “I saw who took you home.”

Millie casually shrugged and joked. “We ran into each other at the restaurant, and he insisted on giving me a ride home. I guess I’m just too charming.”

Arthur couldn’t help but burst into laughter at how confident she was.

“Grandpa, why are you here?”

Arthur crossed his arms, expressing his deep concern. “Your grandma hasn’t returned yet today. I’m really

worried about her.”

Millie glanced at her phone and realized it was already past 8:00 pm. Layla should be home soon. This is property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

Soon after she set her phone down, she noticed a black car parked at the door. A person promptly exited the car and opened the door for Layla. She acknowledged the gesture with a slight nod, and the man respectfully left.

“Grandma is back!” Millie said. Then, she entered the house. With Layla’s return, Arthur’s attention was solely on her. There was no point in Millie being there.

Millie glanced back and witnessed Arthur tenderly removing Layla’s coat while saying something with a soft and flattering tone. She smiled, feeling slightly envious,

She once believed that she and Winston could have a relationship like them. Regardless of the passing years, they would always cherish one another. They would age gracefully together as long as she put in enough effort and remained gentle and obedient.

Unfortunately, all this was just her wishful thinking. Winston never included her in his life or accepted her as his partner.

Millie looked up, feeling a little sad. She pushed open the bedroom door, and the emptiness reminded her of the years spent in the villa.

Winston had completely abandoned her, and she couldn’t help but feel foolish. Even now, she still didn’t understand why she had fallen for him for so long.

Nevertheless, Millie had no regrets about her relentless pursuit of Winston.
