Winston waved at Seth and said coldly, “You’d better not tell me who your dad is.”

“My dad is-”

The words were about to come out of Seth’s mouth when Winston warned him, “Are you sure about this?” All rights © NôvelDrama.Org.

If Seth revealed his dad’s identity, Winston would make sure to bankrupt his business.

Seth opened his mouth, but someone cautioned him, “Seth, that looks like Winston Greer, the CEO of Greer Group who has a chokehold on Yerwick’s economy. Don’t get on his bad side…”

Seth immediately toned down. He scrutinized Winston nervously. How could this be Winston Greer?

“Bring them away.” Winston glanced at the bar owner. “Do not let in any Tom, Dick, or Harry next time.”

The owner immediately replied, “Yes, Mr. Greer!”

“What’s wrong with her?” Jake’s voice echoed in the air. Millie looked behind Winston and saw Jake leaning on the couch and studying Rachel.

Millie hurriedly walked around Winston and shoved Jake out of the way. She helped Rachel up.

Rachel pressed her body against Millie’s. Head hung low, she mumbled softly, “Mills, my body is burning.”

Winston and Jake overheard Rachel’s comment. Millie looked at the two men before hurriedly excusing herself, “I’ll leave now.”

Worried for Millie, Winston asked, “Can you handle it alone?”

Jake went up to them. “I’ll send the both of you home.

Millie glanced at him warily. “It’s fine.”

Jake questioned, “Do you know how to take care of Rachel’s condition?”

Suddenly, Rachel was hit by a wave of nausea. She patted Millie on the shoulder before dashing toward the restroom. Millie ran after her.

Alas, Rachel could not get anything out of her system after a long time dry heaving by the sink. She splashed cold water on her face but couldn’t cool herself down.

“Rach, I’ll get you a glass of iced water. Wait for me here,” Millie reminded Rachel.

Rachel nodded before going over to the restroom entrance. She tugged at a collar. At that time, a male patron walked past her with his eyes fixed on her.

Someone went up to chat her up. “Babe, let’s-”

He didn’t get to finish his sentence as Jake kicked him hard. “Get lost,” Jake hissed.

Rachel looked into Jake’s eyes. She tried to return to the restroom but lost her balance. He swiftly caught her. The cool touch of his skin was a much–needed relief for Rachel, whose skin felt like it was on fire.

She couldn’t help but press her skin against his.

Caught by surprise, Jake froze and felt his throat tightening. “R–Rachel,” he whispered.

Raising her head, she replied, “Yeah.”

Her soft voice tugged at his heartstrings.

“No. You-” He was about to push her away, but she looked at his face with her blurred vision.

Feeling horrible, she croaked, “Can we do it just once?”

Before he could figure out the meaning behind her words, she went on tiptoe and wrapped her arms around his shoulder before kissing him.

Just a while. Just a kiss.

Eyes closed, she gently kissed his cool lips and breathed heavily.

Jake swallowed hard. His eyes deepened as desire rose within him.

Right when Rachel was ready to release him, he held her by the waist and pushed her back against the wall before responding to her kiss.
