Chapter 88
Chapter 88 Leon Has Arrived
Ashton shared Colbie’s skepticism. “Ms. Lawson, are you joking? Perhaps while we’ve been talking. hackers are already deciphering the code.”
“It won’t be leaked. I assure you,” Gwen replied confidently, leaning back in her chair. She asked Alfie softly, “Is he on his way?”
Alfie nodded. “He’ll be here in ten minutes.”
She smiled with confidence. “Everyone just needs to come with me to meet someone.”
The attendees stared at her in disbelief, some even thinking she was making light of the situation.
“She still wants everyone to go meet someone at a time like this?”
“Does she not understand the gravity of the situation?
“It’s simply ridiculous!”
Gwen ignored their murmurs and stood tall, “Just don’t regret it.”
Jake stood up as well. “Till go with you.”
Though feeling uneasy, Ashton felt compelled to follow the two major shareholders. Since the president went down, how could he not follow? The board members also made their way down together.
Gwen led the group behind her as they all waited eagerly for someone to arrive.
A yellow cab pulled up in the distance.
They exchanged glances and expected some high–profile individual, only to be surprised by who got out.
It was a gentleman over 6 feet tall with sharp brows and a warm demeanor. Dressed in all black, he exuded a low–key elegance that was hard to ignore.
‘You made it!” Gwen rushed to greet Leon Lawson and wrapped him in a big hug.
Leaning close, she whispered, “Leon, I really need your help this time!”
“Okay. It’s a small matter,” Leon replied casually. “I’ve already dealt with it on the way.”
She beamed while linking her arm through his. “Really? You’re the best!”
He ruffled her hair affectionately, and a rare smile crossed his face. “You sure know how to sweet–talk.”
Leon was AK, the world’s number one hacker on the dark web.
Gwen had anticipated potential risks and contacted Leon to come to Bellmont to ensure the security of their nanobot project over the past three months.
Little did she expect that complications would arise so soon. She had underestimated the lengths some people would go to sabotage her.
Her actions left everyone puzzled, and many regretted following along.
“Let me introduce you all. This is the engineer I invited specifically for project encryption. He has completely deleted the source code from the dark web
With that, Gwen pulled Leon upstairs.
Murmurs erupted behind them.
“Just like that? This has to be a scam!”
“Who is this guy? Does anyone know his background?” Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.
Jake remained silent. His gaze was fixed on the departing pair, and his expression darkened.
Who was this person?
They were so intimate in front of outsiders, showing no reservations at all.
Once upstairs, Ashton verified the situation again and confirmed Gwen’s claims. He then let out a sigh of relief.
“It’s finally resolved.” He took a sip of water on the table and glanced at Leon, who was focused on coding. “How do we address you, sir?”
“Just call me Zero.”
Ashton was surprised by such a peculiar name but figured Leon wanted to keep his identity private. Gwen gave an awkward smile to Ashton. “Sorry, his name is indeed quite unusual.”
She made a silly face at Leon, who continued to keep his head down.
Leon did not react at all. He was here on vacation to help her. He was clearly reluctant to reveal his identity, but a name like that could only come from him
“Ms. Lawson, you’re truly perceptive, as if you had anticipated this all along. I admire you,” Ashton said. Gwen nodded. ‘Not really. I just figured some people might cause trouble. Since the biggest issue is resolved…” She turned and raised an eyebrow. “Next, we need to find out who the real leaker is.”
