Chapter 86 The One Who Is Truly Blind
“Are you asking as the fiancé of the young lady from Charles Group?” Gwen articulated each word, her red lips forming a sharp line. “Or as my ex–husband? Think about it… Which identity qualifies?”
Jake w
was taken aback. He had crossed the line; he was the least qualified to ask such a question. How could he question her when he was the one choosing wedding rings with someone else?
He strode over to Sienna and said, “Let’s go.”
Sienna’s eyes sparkled with a triumphant glimmer. “But Jake, we haven’t chosen a ring yet!”
“Let’s go elsewhere.”
Sienna quickly followed him. She hurriedly linked her arm with Jake’s and spoke softly. “Wait for me.”
The two left swiftly, and Gwen’s smile gradually faded.
Ryan studied Gwen. “Are you still upset?”
“If you keep talking, I’ll tell Henry you’re bullying me!” she threatened,
He immediately begged for mercy. “No, please! Henry told me to take care of you. If you complain, I’ll be in trouble!”
Back at the Lawson residence, Theodore had been waiting in the living room for a while. Seeing the two carrying many bags, he frowned and said, “Milady, why didn’t you and Ryan call me when you go shopping?
Ryan and Theodore had known each other since childhood and were always at each other’s throats, mainly because Ryan bullied Theodore.
Theodore once called Gwen ugly, leading to Ryan’s lifelong dislike for him. He would never acknowledge that Gwen was not just beautiful–she was strikingly so
“I only found out through trending searches. I rushed over right after landing.” Theodore said while leaning back against the couch. He looked exhausted from the travel.
“How’s the project going?” Gwen picked up her professional tone.
Theodore had been handling international projects, which were indeed quite demanding.
“Don’t worry, Ms. Lawson.” He smiled. “Now that you’re home, let’s not talk about work.”
“If she won’t talk about work, what else is there to discuss?” Ryan said as he threw a pillow at Theodore.
“We can talk about dreams and life! It’s better than your wedding proposal prank at the jewelry store!” Theodore pulled out his phone and showed the screen. “Look! It’s trending like crazy. Your female fans must want to kill Milady!”
“My fans love Gwen. You’re just overthinking it.” Ryan rolled his eyes at Theodore.
Theodore seemed to have stumbled upon something amusing. “Oh my goodness! Is Jake getting engaged to Sienna?”
He shook his head while clicking his tongue. “Everyone in our circle is saying he’s marrying a wealthy woman. I just want to say he’s too blind to let a billion–dollar treasure like Milady go unnoticed. Serves him right!”
He certainly wouldn’t reveal the truth to Jake. Such a cosmic–level secret should catch him off guard.
“Isn’t it you who’s the one truly blind?” Gwen crossed her arms while staring at Theodore with a dangerous smile, making him shiver and sit up straight.
She didn’t forget grudges. Why did she have to say that?
He had missed his chance with her, which allowed that scoundrel Jake to take advantage.
Ryan chuckled and added to the spectacle, “Serves you right!”
After dinner, Theodore knocked on the door while grinning mischievously. “With so many rooms in the Lawson residence, how about I stay here for the night?
“Get lost!” Before Gwen could respond, Ryan kicked him in the rear.
Anthony summoned Jake into the chairman’s office of the Charles Group.
“I heard Sienna say you didn’t even want to pick a ring is that true?” Anthony’s tone was relaxed but tinged with reproach.
Jake replied in a deep voice, “I need to reconsider the marriage with Sienna.”
He hadn’t fully moved on from his previous marriage. These days, his mind was filled with thoughts of Gwen. Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.
Agreeing to the engagement was an impulsive decision on his part. Alternatively, getting divorced was also an impulsive choice.
Hearing this, Anthony slammed his hand on the table, and his eyes flashed with anger. “You’ve announced it publicly! What do you mean by changing your mind now?”
