Chapter 134
"I don't think it's right for me to receive my salary without doing anything. That hardly makes sense." Jessica furrowed her eyebrows. Although she did not make it known that she wanted to resign, she wished that Old Mr. Gulliford would hurry up so that she could leave side.

"Don't worry. With you by my side, I have more energy to finish things quicker. Isn't that helpful enough?" Trevor smiled at Jessica. However, the reality was that ever since Jessica returned, Trevor's speed had literally slowed down to the point of stopping.
As he sat on the chair, he would constantly sneak a look at Jessica. When Jessica looked up, Trevor would avert his eyes. Jessica felt helpless deep down, but she did not know what to say to that.
A male secretary came in and said, "Mr. Gulliford, you have a business matter overseas to go this afternoon. Do you want me to cancel it?"
"Yes." Trevor nodded as he looked at Jessica. He really liked this male secretary in particular. That secretary was vigilant enough to push back his schedule when Jessica was around.
"You can't possibly cancel business matters because of me, Mr. Gulliford." Jessica frowned. She was puzzled at Trevor's sudden change of behavior.
Before this, Trevor had always made sure that nothing would get in the way of his work.
"You're right. What should I do?" Trevor asked as he touched his chin. When he noticed the solemn look on Jessica's face, he could not help but smile.
"Why don't you come with me?" Trevor suggested.
"What?" Confusion was evident in Jessica's eyes as she thought, "What is he trying to do?"
"Without you around, I don't have the mood to attend to business matters. It's normal for you to follow me on business trips out of the country for you are my secretary anyway. It's reasonable." With that, Trevor hid his hands beneath the table and rubbed them in anticipation.
It had been years and yet, he had never gone on a trip with Jessica before.
This would be the first time.
"All right." Jessica nodded. It was normal to serve someone when they were the ones who were paying.

hand over the work to you," Trevor said as he got up. It looked like he
was about to go and look for the male secretary from earlier.
Jessica furrowed her brows slightly. It would have been normal for Trevor to call the secretary in instead of going out personally.
After a while, the secretary came back and passed a file to Jessica. It contained documents that had been arranged properly.
Jessica was about to take a look at them when she suddenly felt mild discomfort in her stomach. She decided to go to the lounge to have a cup of coffee.
When the female staff in the lounge saw Jessica's arrival, they moved aside to make space for her. However, they all looked at her strangely.
Jessica hated being stared at, but it was not right to say anything about it.
Besides, Trevor was like a god in their eyes. Jessica had basically snatched him away.
"You're the new secretary?" A lady in a work uniform came up to Jessica. The tag on her chest told Jessica that her name was Lily Wright. She was the director of the sales department. en NovelDrama.Org
"Hello, Ms. Wright. I just entered the company. Nice to meet you." Jessica was being polite. Regardless, she knew that she was not going to work in the company for long. "Nice to meet you, too. You're Jessica, right? Just call me Lily." Lily had heard of Jessica before their encounter. It was obvious that she would want to butter Jessica up.
"I don't think that's right." Jessica was hesitant about it.
"Why not? That's decided, then. We'll talk later," Lily responded with a smile.
"All right. Goodbye." Jessica waved her hands. She was just about to
leave when someone tripped her,
causing her to fall onto the floormet
The hot coffee in her hands spilled all over her clothes, leading to her gasping in shock.
"Who did it?" Jessica got up as she picked up the mug. She placed it on the table as anger rose up in her chest.
Jessica never did like to cause trouble, but no one should ever provoke her as well.
