Chapter 3166
No matter how major the deal was, Liberty still had to eat her fill before she went in to discuss.
Liberty laughed and replied with a voice note, “I got up late today. I would be late if I only left for the office after breakfast, so I thought I might as well pack my breakfast and have it in the office. By the time I finish eating, it'll be right about time for my morning meeting. Anyway, don't worry about me. I'm thinking of coming back this weekend to spend some time with Sonny.”
Serenity hummed in interest. Liberty did not send her anything else, so she did not disturb her sister further.
Liberty was much busier than she was now. Her business was at least stable now, while Liberty's was just taking off.
Liberty packed breakfast for herself and arrived at the office, eating it as quickly as she could before her morning meeting started.
Then, she sent Duncan a voice note saying, “Last night, I dreamed that a faceless woman came and told me that you didn’t want me anymore and told me to leave you.”
Duncan, who was in the middle of his rehabilitation exercises, did not hear it right away.
Liberty did not wait for his reply either because her secretary reminded her it was time for her meeting.Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.
Half an hour later, Duncan stopped to rest. Picking his phone up from the wheelchair, he excitedly tapped on the new message from Liberty. He panicked after listening to her voice note.
He wanted to call Liberty right away but was afraid that she was busy, so he texted her first: [Are you busy, Liberty?]
Duncan was very anxious, but he did not want to disturb Liberty.
He stopped doing his rehabilitation exercises and got back into his wheelchair. Wheeling himself off the lawn, he went back inside. Around ten minutes later, Duncan came back outside with his bodyguard pushing him toward his car.
Soon, the car departed Westwood Manor.
There was a frown on Duncan's face the whole time. Everyone could tell he was in a bad mood.
Right when they were about to arrive at Lewis & Co., Duncan suddenly said, “Head for York Corporation.”
His bodyguard replied in respectful affirmation before making a U-turn to detour to York Corporation.
They arrived at York Corporation in less than ten minutes.
Duncan was Zachary's good friend and the two companies worked closely together, so Duncan did not need to notify or have an appointment to head straight up to the top floor to see Zachary. Normally Duncan would operate his wheelchair by himself, but today, he was in a rush, so his bodyguard was pushing him.
When they got out of the elevator on the top floor, one of Zachary's secretaries came up to greet him. “Mr. Lewis.”
Duncan nodded slightly and asked, “Is Zachary in?"
"He is. He knows you're here, so you can knock on the door and go straight in.” The secretary thought Duncan was here to continue discussing the new project with Zachary.
Duncan nodded at him.
The secretary knocked on the door to Zachary's office and opened it for Duncan as his bodyguard wheeled him in.
Zachary looked up and turned his attention back to his documents when he saw it was Duncan.
Duncan dismissed his bodyguard with a wave and shifted himself from the wheelchair to the black chair opposite Zachary.
Zachary closed the folder and looked at Duncan for a whole minute before asking, “You look like you have something on your mind, Duncan. What happened? Tell me and I'll see if I can help you.” Duncan came over in such a rush to find out if Liberty had said anything to Serenity, but now that he was actually facing Zachary, he suddenly was at a loss for words.
