Chapter 2989
At that moment, Hidetake strode toward Nathan.
His pace quickened. Finally, he transformed into a blurry figure and charged toward Nathan.
"This is my form of courtesy to you," Hidetake bellowed in a deep voice. The katana in his hand turned into a beam of light and swung toward Nathan. Hidetake's impending attack looked formidable.
Fang, Heptakill, and the rest could not help but frown slightly.
Hidetake was undoubtedly the famed figure of the Jetroinian Navy. From that attack alone, it was evident that Hidetake's strength was far more powerful than those warriors earlier.
Nathan raised his sword to block the attack.
"Thank you for the courtesy, this is my appreciation in return." The moment Nathan finished speaking, he fended off Hidetake's attack and immediately followed with a swing of his arm to attack Hidetake.
Nathan's sudden outburst of power took Hidetake by surprise. Not only was Nathan able to fend off his attack, but he also managed to counterattack so swiftly.
Alarmed and appalled, Hidetake hastily retreated.
Even then, he was not able to escape Nathan's sword.
In an instant, a slit appeared on his clothes near his chest, and beneath the slit was a faint cut oozing crimson blood.
That wound was not fatal, in fact, it was hardly a scratch.
But Hidetake's face was boiling with rage. He did not expect to be wounded right at the start of the battle. It was simply too humiliating for him. Hidetake totally lost it. He decided to give his all and roared, "First stance of Blade of Sun: Lotus Slash!"
As he exhaled, the katana in his hand instantly transformed into hundreds and thousands of beams of light. The beams of light began to form a circular shape, akin to a full-bloomed lotus flower.
Next, the beams of light charged toward Nathan.
Seeing this scene, the soldiers in the Jetroina camp began to cheer excitedly.
However, Colin, Fang and the rest held their breath and watched the battle intensely.
Faced with Hidetake using his powerful skill, Nathan did not panic. Instead, he appeared rather amused.
It was like a collector chancing upon a charming antique or a food connoisseur seeing exquisite delicacies. Hidetake's use of Blade of Sun quipped his interest.
Nathan was in no hurry to counterattack. Instead, he started to retreat in small steps.
He took a total of seventeen steps back before managing to dodge all the beams of light from Hidetake's katana.
"Haha, I've long heard of the power of Jetroina's Blade of Sun. However, there's no substance at all after having witnessed it today," Nathan commented nonchalantly.
It did not come across Hidetake's
mind that not only was Nathan able to dodge his Lotus Slash, but he also had time to comment. He was so enraged that his nose wrinkled in a clump.
"You're the first person who dares to look down on Jetroina's Ancient Arts. I will make sure you perish under my katana." Without wasting another word, Hidetake began unleash another attack. The katana
in his hand transformed into huge waves, charging ferociously toward Nathan.
On the other hand, Nathan was like a bishop in his zucchetto and chimere, seemingly calm and composed despite standing in the eye of a storm. Nathan effortlessly escaped unscathed from all of Hidetake's attacks, akin to taking a leisurely stroll in the garden.
Hidetake's expression turned ugly. He jumped a step back and shouted while swinging his katana, “Ninth stance of Blade of Sun: Crescent Slash!"
In an instant, a crescent-shaped streak of white light shot out from his katana. It quickly broke away from the katana and bolted toward Nathan. Colin could not help but caution, “Be careful!"
Nathan laughed lightly and raised his left hand.
Without much effort, he bare handedly caught the streak of energy and slowly clasped his five fingers. All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
Crack!
Nathan used his left hand and forcefully crushed his opponent's energy attack into smithereens.
Everyone present could not help but exclaim in astonishment.
Even the trio, Fang, Destroyer, and
Heptakill could not resist
exchanging glances among
themselves. They realized that Chief
Cross powers seemed to have elevated to a higher level.
But the most appalled of all was Hidetake.
Seeing how Nathan crushed his Crescent Slash attack with a bare hand, Hidetake's eyes widened in total disbelief.
