Salute To The General

Chapter 2986

Fang steadied himself a few meters behind Wafu.

Then, he slowly wiped down his blade and shoved it back into its sheath. Calmly, he stated, "Game over."

A deathly silence filled the air.

Both Eurasian and Jetroinian warriors were staring at Wafu in shock.

Everyone was wondering, Has Wafu lost?

In the meantime, Wafu grabbed the broken katana and slowly lowered his head to look at the cut that stretched from his chest right down to his abdomen.

Suddenly, the cut burst open, revealing a ghastly wound.

The wound practically ripped Wafu apart. All of his internal organs could be seen.

Many people let out cries of astonishment.

Even the warriors who had grown numb to the sight of corpses and gotten used to death couldn't help but get goosebumps seeing the gruesome

scene.

Hidetake's expression instantly darkened.

His most powerful subordinate, Wafu, had lost to Fang, who was Nathan's number one lackey.

That wasn't a good start at all.

All eyes were on Wafu right then. There were different expressions on everyone's face.

With difficulty, Wafu murmured, “I've lost. It was a crushing defeat. As a soldier and a warrior, there's nothing better than dying on the battlefield. I don't have too many regrets. My only regret is that I didn't die at the hands of the God of War, the strongest man in Eurasia."

At that point, he turned to Nathan with the broken katana in hand.

"Could you fulfill my wish, God of War? I, Wafu Takada, would like to fight against you.”

He was already at the end of his rope by the time he said that. Anyone could tell he couldn't hold on for much longer.

Not to mention, he was practically begging when he proposed a challenge to Nathan.

Rather than a challenge, it would be more accurate to say that he was choosing to die at the hands of Nathan.

It turned out that there was something odd about Jetroinians. They held their personal reputation in high regard.

Because of that, soldiers would sometimes end their own lives after being defeated.

The same went for Wafu. In his

opinion, he had to die at the hands of the strongest enemy as a warrior of Jetroina. Only then would be be able to die without regrets.

Everyone turned to look at Nathan. They were all wondering if he would agree to Wafu's request.

Earlier, when Wafu was totally unharmed and in peak form, Nathan hadn't agreed to his challenge. He didn't think Wafu was worthy of fighting him.

Right then, Wafu was on the verge of death. Thus, fighting with him would be completely unfair.

None of them thought that Nathan would agree.

Nathan glanced at Wafu, who had a pleading look in his eyes. He plainly asked, "Why?"

Blood was starting to flow out of Wafu's mouth as well. He struggled to reply You're right here on this island, so you have to be the one to decide the fate of us Jetroinian soldiers." Ccontent © exclusive by Nô/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.

Nathan nodded. “Since you insist on being so stubborn even when you're about to die, I'll grant you your wish."

After that, he strode in Wafu's direction.

Upon hearing Nathan's words, Wafu let out an exclamation. He raised his broken katana and barreled toward Nathan.

Nathan lifted his fist and swung forward.

Bang!

It landed on Wafu's chest.

The force of the punch completely shattered his ribcage.

A shudder ran through Wafu's body, and all his strength disappeared right away. His body went limp and he fell into a kneeling position in front of Nathan.

Nathan raised his arm and helped Wafu into a sitting position.

"You're a good warrior.

Unfortunately, you're an enemy of mine. Even worse, you chose to invade the territory of my nation. Since you're a courageous man, I shal allow you to sit here and witness my battle," Nathan declared.

Life slowly slipped out of Wafu's eyes as he sat there with what seemed to be an expression of gratitude and relief on his face.
