Salute To The General

Chapter 2637

Chapter 2637

By the time Nathan and his family were done with their meal, night had arrived, and the city was illuminated by lights. Nathan and his family members went into their car and returned home.

Right as Nathan returned to the Headquarters of the Chief Military Governor, Sage greeted him with a few guards.

When Nathan came down from the car, he said to Sage, "Sage, invite the Goodall brothers to the Headquarters of the Chief Military Governor." Sage replied, "Yes, Sir!"

Nathan then ambled into the Headquarters of the Chief Military Governor with his family.

Sage turned around and instructed his men, "Assign a thousand members of the Felidae Battalion to arrest the Goodall brothers right away." "Yes, Sir!"

Soon, a jeep with a military plate sped away from the Headquarters of the Chief Military Governor down the path toward the Goodall residence.

In no time, Sage and a thousand men from Felidae Battalion surrounded the Goodall residence.

Meanwhile, the Goodalls were in the middle of their meal.

When they saw Sage and the soldiers barging into their residence, they were dumbfounded.

Braydon shared a look with Sigurd.

The brothers were confounded, and they could sense that something was amiss.

Sigurd was less cautious than his brother. Immediately, he slammed his palm on the table, shaking the plates and cups. He glared at Sage and bellowed, "What are you doing? Who allowed you to trespass on private property? Do you know what this place is? Do you know who we are? Do you know what kind of consequences you will face by entering this place without permission?"

Braydon did not speak, but his eyes were fixed on Sage.

He, too, would like to find out what Sage and the others were doing there.

Braydon s brows were furrowed tightly as he wondered, Could it be that they've found out about me secretly sending men to look into Nathan? Did Nathan lose his temper and send his men to cause a ruckus here?

With that thought in mind, Braydon panicked.

As it turned out, he was right.

Sage kept his hands behind his back as he studied his surroundings. Then his icy gaze finally landed on the brothers-Braydon and Sigurd. In an equally frigid tone, he said, "Our Chief Military Governor has invited the two of you to the headquarters."

An invitation to the headquarters?

Braydon could feel a chill run down his spine.

An invitation to the headquarters was certainly no good news.

Even Sigurd paled as he said, "We're not part of the army, so we're not part of your system. Your Chief Military Governor has no jurisdiction over us. Who does your Chief Military Governor think we are summon us whenever he wants? We're not going. If he has anything, he can talk to our superior, Mr. Holmes. Don't even bother trying this trick of yours with us." Content belongs to NovelDrama.Org

Sage uttered, "I've been trying to keep things polite, but you're not going to listen to me, are you? Did you think that I was asking for you to agree to the invitation? Since you refuse to cooperate, don't blame me for doing things the hard way then. Men, take the Goodall brothers away. Arrest anyone who dares to stop us on the account of

obstructing military procedures."

"Yes, Sir!"

Numerous soldiers with sub-machine guns then stepped forward and trained their guns on Braydon's and Sigurd's backs and heads. A soldier yelled, "Stand up and get moving!"

Both brothers turned paler as sweat beaded on their foreheads.

The two of them often led teams on arrests, but it was their first time on the other end of the arrest. Furthermore, they had multiple submachine guns pointing at them.

Sigurd no longer dared to make any fuss.

Even Braydon seemed much less confident than before. He cast a complicated look at Sage before gritting out, "General Tomlinson, you have to know that the two of us are not nobodies. We're Mr. Holmes' men. Are you sure you want to arrest us?"

Sage replied indifferently, "I'm sure. Take them away!"

Braydon hastily said, "Wait! You need to have a reason to take us away.

Neither of us will be fine with this unless you have a reason that's good enough to convince us. Our superior, Mr. Holmes, won't just let the army do as they please either!"Content rights belong to NôvelDrama.Org.

Sage sneered, "Are you still pretending to play a fool even at a time like this? Fine, I'll enlighten you, then. Men, bring the man in!"

Right as those words were out of Sage's mouth, a Felidae Battalion soldier brought a plump man with a bloodied face in. It was none other than Braydon and Sigurd's subordinate, Tubby Tabby Odert.

Braydon knew that everything was over when he saw Odert; he knew that his plan to look into Nathan must have been exposed and backfired. Sigurd was astonished and fearful, and he gasped out, "Odert, why are you—"

Odert lowered his head and

mumbled, "Mr. Braydon, Mr. Sigurd, I've confessed everything. We didn't receive any orders to look into the Chief Military Governor, so your instructions for me to look into him are actually illegal. Furthermore, the Chief Military Governor's schedule is the military's top secret. Now we're suspected of prying into the army's top secrets." Content belongs to NovelDrama.Org

What?

A frown appeared on Braydon's face.

On the other hand, Sigurd paled and slumped into the chair.

Sage scoffed, “Don't be in such a haste to feel so weak in your knees yet. You'll be getting a taste of something worse once you're at the headquarters."

Soon, the Goodall brothers were forcibly taken away.

Once Sage and the others retreated, the Goodalls panicked. Some began crying, but some managed to retain a shred of rationality as they quickly urged, "Quick! Someone hurry up and inform Mr. Holmes about this!”
