Salute To The General

Chapter 2455

Back in the hospital ward, Jett, who had just recovered from his injuries, came to a final conclusion.

Gritting his teeth, he spat, "Nathan must have reported Mr. Quillen to the Chief Military Governor and the President! He's the one responsible for Mr. Quilen's death."

Upon hearing this, Kit and Irvin frowned.

Initially, they rushed back to the country in hopes of helping Cayden regain his glory and make a comeback.

They never expected that Layden had met his demise before they could even meet him.

Furthermore, Kit and Irvin were no ordinary acquaintances of Layden. To them, Layden was a figure whom they greatly admired and revered. They were determined to take revenge on the person who dared to kill Layden.

"So, you plan to avenge Mr. Quillen?" Kit asked Jett.

"Of course! How can I call myself Mr. Quillen's mentee if I don't avenge him?" Jett bellowed in reply.

Irvin narrowed his eyes. "What do you have in mind?” “I stand no chance against Nathan alone.” Jett chuckled sinisterly. "But now that the two of you are back, your combined strengths will come in handy in my plans to avenge Mr. Quilen."

He then declared, "Coincidentally, I learned that Penny's birthday is happening the day after tomorrow, which is the reason why Nathan returned to Channing-to celebrate his wife's birthday. Let's take action on her birthday and take them by surprise. We will send Nathan and his entire family to

hell!"

Kit and Irvin traded glances before Irvin replied calmly, "All right. Nathan must pay the price of murdering Mr. Quillen with the lives of his family. We will go along with your plan."

Benson, Leah, Queenie, and Kylie were ecstatic to learn of Nathan's return.

The moment Queenie saw Nathan, she refused to let go of his arm and called him 'Papa' until her voice became hoarse.

On the other hand, Benson and Leah busied themselves cooking Nathan's favorite dishes.

When Kylie caught sight of Nathan, she was struck with a mixture of joy and embarrassment.

After she lost consciousness in the bathroom back in Brimmopolis, Nathan had been the one who saved her. After that incident, Kylie couldn't help but feel awkward around him.

After dinner, a steady stream of guests dropped by to visit them.Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

Many of the local leaders, military commanders, and even relatives of the Smith family showed up.

Although Thomas didn't dare to appear before Nathan, he still discretely ordered his men to send over some gifts.

When Nathan noticed Thomas' gifts, he quickly inquired about the latter's well-being.

A few of the guests informed him that Thomas had quit gambling and was now keeping a low profile whilst running his business.

"It's good that he turned over a new

leaf. Nevertheless, we can't judge too soon. Only time will tell if this is merely a temporary phase or a true change of his character," Nathan stated calmly.

At the same time, Sean smiled and asked him, "Nathan, if memory serves me right, Penn's birthday falls on the day after tomorrow. Did you return to celebrate Penn's birthday?"

Nathan returned Sean's warm smile with one of his own. "Recently, I've been caught up with my work and couldn't spend time with my family. Since Benny's birthday coincided with my holiday, I decided to return home."

"That's fantastic! How about we celebrate Penn's birthday at the

manor instead of hosting it in a hotel? We can invite all our relatives and close friends over for a meal," Sean suggested.

Instead of answering, Nathan glanced at Penny, who nodded in agreement. "All right, let's have the celebratory dinner there."

“But Grandpa, I'm sure you're aware of Nathan's job in the military.

Considering his identity, we shouldn't invite too many guests. In fact, why don't we just have a simple family dinner?" Penny added.

"I understand." Sean nodded. "Since you and Nathan prefer to keep a low profile, I will respect your wishes. We'll only have our family over for a meal."

Upon hearing this, a smile broke out across everyone's faces.

From aside, Benson and Leah beamed from ear to ear as they relished in the joyful moment. Yet, they couldn't help but sigh. In the past, they were considered the black sheep of the family.

Right now, it was all thanks to their daughter and amazing son-in-law, Nathan, that they could receive Sean's adoration.

The longer they looked at Nathan, the prouder they felt.
